Thank you for posting! we have asked many places with no result. They filled our gas bottle here. We paid 7000 to fill up our 3kg bottle, needed a lot of negotiation. According to the people here this is the only place in Cameroon.

If you own a truck, go in the truck line. Pay 25.000 Dinar for x-ray, pass it and go to the next checkpoint. They look in your vehicle, then you have to register with your passport at the counter.

We were looking for a place to spend the night with our campervan after driving the first section of the "death road" (8km down & up again).

At the other spot "Next to the main road" we felt too exposed. So we chose this side street which is easily accessible and offers some options to park (probably not for big rigs?).

You are below the main road here, slightly visible still and there was a little "noise" from the trucks passing by. But we felt safe and had a peaceful night.

OK Entel signal.

A small stream of water is crossing the road and continues in the valley.

Tents may find shelter next to some ruins here.

This one is a gem. Less than a mile off the highway, yet a gorgeous panoramic view of tiered cliffs to the East. Easy to get to with 2wd and larger rigs. You'll be fine in whatever youre driving. The pin is at a turnaround on top of a rise, but the area has plenty of more private spots as well. Looks like this was a gravel pit for when they graded the highway. There's a cemetery here for the town of Woodside, which there is little trace of but at its peak in the 1920's had 300 people. graves from as early as the 1860's and a plaque with some history, very cool. River is nearby, and a railroad. I love train noise, but only saw one all night. All BLM and state trust land here except a swath surrounding the defunct service station/ jerky shop just south of the highway turnoff. Very good cell signal and 4g with att. Peaceful, safe and beautiful, no trash here at all. Perfect if you're trying to avoid staying anywhere near SLC while travelling through :) Sorry there are no pics, my camera is busted.
LNT my friends!

The path is clear, there is no more tree on the road so access is easy. Small parking lot surrounded by trees, very quiet, we saw only one car at the end of the day. Nice 4 km loop hike, I really recommend. The place is clean, there is no trash on site so take your waste please.

Very good location! Far enough from the main road and plenty of space. Pretty view. Yes some trash, but doable when we were there. During the day no internet, in the evening 3G. Some shepherds/fisherman might stop by.

The road to this place was a lot of fun. Sometimes a bit narrow and some climbs, but doable with 2WD vans.

Nice place to stay for a night. It has some road noise and I think I heard trains. Somebody dumped a lot of trash over the side which is sad. PIPO ( Pack in pack out).

Here at 8am on a Friday. No other travelers around. Literally 20 mins to exit stamp passport and cancel tip.

Police gave me pan and cheese for my coffee.

Super easy.

We had a great experience here! Our 2020 Ford Transit showed a “check engine” light after being at high altitude. We showed up at Martin’s shop at 8am on a Friday (he doesn’t work Sat and Sun, that’s for family and fishing) and he had his scanner hooked to the OBDII port by 8:15am. He speaks English and assured us it was nothing serious. He ran the diagnostics, cleaned our plugs, and had us on our way by 9am. He suggested we run the best available fuel (Super in Ecuador) at high altitude, as he said the fuel here is of poor quality.

We dont normally pay for camping but we had to recharge our auxiliary batteries and this spot was perfect for that. A little expensive but the place is SUPER clean and the staff is very nice ! Hot showers, electricity and outdoor kitchen area

Also, the localisation is very good and the beach is only few steps away.

We had no issue communicating with the owner, he responsed super quickly through Whatsapp

Nice spot, quiet. Sign says "day use only" but I didn't have a problem. Privy was clean and even had toilet paper. Verizon had one bar.

as described great spot just off the freeway. you cross under the freeway and go 2.5 miles on a pretty good for 2WD dirt road. I pulled in at night and was slightly worried about the ground being soft but it was plenty firm packed at the time I was here. great views in the morning, three bars of Verizon 4glte.

Nice, quite and lonely place for the Night. We saw nobody.
We didn‘t enjoy the ruins much. They rebuilded obviously the remaining walls. Or did the Incas have concrete yet??

Spot is right Next to the road, with plenty of space.
There was not much traffic at night, and another camper pulled up behind us.
We had a good night of sleep here.
There’s 2 bars of reception here with t-mobile.

I crossed here back in 2017 and yesterday again. Both times in a Class A 1993 Itasca camper.’it’s a small border, but its ok for a 23 feet camper like me. Here they dont ask for dog’s paperwork, dont pay 200 usd in the US for nothing.

Everyone is friendly and it took me 30 minutes between migracion and banjercito. Always let them know if you want to stay six months.

Decided to do my TIP in La Paz before the ferry to save 400 usd right now.
