Staff at this entry gate were helpful and advised on the best route to take to Ghoha Gate.

Park fees (1 day; transit) are BWP 270 for foreigners; BWP 205 for South Africans & BWP 115 for a foreign registered vehicle. Kids up to 5 go free and up yo 12 years half price of the state rates. The permit is issued here, but fees are payable in cash at the Savuti Gate in the North. You need both the receipt and the permit to exit when you leave at the exit gate. The road conditions are for 4x4 with some areas of deep sand. Allow 5 hours to cross the park, including a few game viewing stops.

Very primitive campsites. No electricity or water at the sites. Basic braai & shade canopy. Solar lights at each site without on/off switch which comes on at dark. Pretty annoying if you are trying to look at stars or have darkness to sleep. We went to the waterhole bar for a sundowner at 6.15 but the place was locked up behind a steel gate, meaning we could not make use of the reason to come (watering hole & bar). Ablutions were good. Kids over 5 years pay full rates. Extremely overpriced and underwhelming. Keep driving...

ENTER PANAMA:
Currently Covid vaccination or test required. Make sure you have some document showing your onwards travel (e.g. a flight ticket or booking confirmation of a boat trip to Colombia).

1. In the middle of passing the big Panama building you can park, and go to the little window where the doctor is, fill in a form and show vaccination or test results.
2. Go to Seguros office on the other side behind the taxi stands to get insurance for the car. Ours cost 25 Dollars, cash only. Check for mistakes! Ours had a mistake in the VIN No. 2 times, even after I let them correct it the 1st time the 2nd one had a new mistake!
3. Go get your passport stamped (can also do this before insurance) where you parked and hand in the stamped document you got from the doctor. They'll ask about your onwards travel.
4. Go to the Aduana counters, show them the usual documents and the insurance. AGAIN check everything! Otherwise you will have problems at the port. We had 3! mistakes in our plate and VIN numbers of the TIP.
5. Find a customs officer who will search your car and stamp the TIP. They didn't ask or search for food/alcohol or similar items that sometimes are not allowed.
6. Pay for fumigation (6 USD)
7. Drive through fumigation, everything done.

a nice spot. it's close to the road so there's noise but a tree buffer offers privacy from it. state trooper came through a time or two but must have just been doing paperwork or something, we weren't bothered.
didn't find trash cans but the pit toilets were in decent shape. moderate bug activity.
no river access anymore.
2 other RVs and 1 other car stayed the night also

Dump, Potable Water and showers available for a 10$ Day fee on weekdays and 20$ on weekends.
You can then of course also use the other facilities at the park.
There is a sign on the dump station saying it is not good to drink etc. but staff confirmed to me this is only because of the installed water hose...otherwise it would be ilegal to call it potable. Told me to remove the installed hose and use my own one and then it is fine, normal potable tap water comes out of the spigot.

The Sitooterie (EH21 8QG) is a private garden hosted by Gillian & Stuart. They have a lovely fenced in large grassy space beside their house with room for 8-10 Moho's. You'll see a wooden gate. Firepit, summerhouse with sofa's, crafts, dvd/book swap & kids toys/books. Compost loo, soak away for waste (eco friendly stuff must be used in your cassette) and fresh water tap. Half mile walk into Wallyford to the grocery store or about 2 miles to Tesco in Musselburgh. On bus route into Edinburgh at Princess St. £10 plus £5 if you want power. Seems only 3 spots marked for electric. Owners very helpful.

Small campground, first come first serve at $14 a night (attendant comes around to collect). Has a pit toilet, no garbage, excellent sites by the water. Seems likely that it gets busy during the summer.

We had a great few nights here with the kind and generous Andreas. He gave us a great tour of the farm, cocoa process, and the local school/dental project. The primitive experience was great and everything was as described. Note there are some low hanging wires on the road in, we managed to sneak through by pushing them up and out of the way, and the parking space is limited but enough for 2 vehicles and great for a stop over to learn something new!

Bots to Nam
Easy and fast border crossing.
Especially on the Namibian side very friendly people.
They ran out of immigration forms, so they stamped our passports without the forms :)!
The very friendly customs guy explained to us, that we don't have to stamp our carnet between the customs union of Botswana, Namibia and South Africa.
Since Botswana stamped us out, he stamped us in again :)!
Paid 337 NAM$ by VISA card!
