Great spot to park while exploring the busy, very narrow, streets of Tilcara. We used it and the police advised it was secure- others parked there as well. Looks like an unused dirt soccer field. Turn off main highway at YPF, go towards town, cross the bridge and then first left ( Ave Costanera I think ). It’s a dirt road, you will see the parking area a few hundred metres along on the right and it’s only a few minutes walk up to the centre of town. Free. Did not stay overnight but perhaps you could.
