Great place for overnight. AT&T is very poor. Verizon is pretty good.

Report Check-In

Rest area five minutes north of wrangell-st Elias visitor center. Large paved lot right next to river. Even though river access is officially closed, there are several lovely shady spots to sit and enjoy views of the river. Easy access, lots of room, no size restrictions. Nice clean pit toilets, a couple of covered picnic tables, great Verizon coverage. Great place for an overnight stay!

Fast parking lot next to river with toilets and picnic table? What more could you ask for for a free place to spend the night? I mean I just came from McCartney and paid $30 a night ro Park in a rock filled field with nothing. And then they didn't even have a trash bin.

Report Check-In

signs posted closed river access. due to hazards. we spent night in parking lot with highway noise and mosquitos! lots of mosquitos! no trash bins. not cleanest pit tiolets.

Report Check-In

a nice spot. it's close to the road so there's noise but a tree buffer offers privacy from it. state trooper came through a time or two but must have just been doing paperwork or something, we weren't bothered.
didn't find trash cans but the pit toilets were in decent shape. moderate bug activity.
no river access anymore.
2 other RVs and 1 other car stayed the night also

Report Check-In

Good spot for one night. There’s a gazebo with a picnic table under it, which was great for cooking as it was raining when we were there. Also the pit toilets were surprisingly clean.

We've stayed here on 3 different occasions passing through the area. Great for a night. Very large lot with river access and stone firepits. Great Verizon service.

Report Check-In

Tent camped at this place. Not bad considering that its free. A bit of noise from the road so I will advise to try to find a place a little away from the road if youre a light sleeper like me. Unfortunately a good bit of trash was lying around at the table/bench spot.
This must be a good place for motorhomes to crash for a night.

grand stationnement pavé,au bord d'une rivière, un peu de bruit provenant de la route mais très acceptable, nombreuse places pour plusieurs type de VR. Apaisant d'entendre la rivière.

Plenty of room. Stayed a few nights nights with no problem. Water is glacial runoff and very swift. Fairly quiet apart from a little road noise. Flat and paved. Solid Verizon LTE. Two well maintained pit toilets.
