A very long Honeymoon

In the wet season we didn't manage to get with our troopy all the way to this spot but a few 100 meters before there are 2-3 level spots as well. Really awesome place and from the marked spot only 10 minutes walking to the very top with 360 degree vista. Take a stick or so to get through all the spider webs 😬

Campground near the road. Clean sites, pit toilets. $22 or $11 with national parks pass. All of the sites were labeled as reserved for the weekend but we were able to stay on a Thursday night no problem.

Thank you Cabela’s, we called ahead of time and they were very nice and allowed us to stay.
The arming is all well lit so you need shades and the evening was somewhat noisy with people driving their noisy cars (almost felt like people racing) but once they went to sleep it got quiet.

Great spot with beautiful views! Plenty of room for a larger rv, but we were in our sprinter & there were 2 minivans there last night and we had space for 2 more smaller vehicles. No issues with being on Hwy 1. Once the sunset it was nice and quiet.

beautiful little campground. A short walk to the water with an amazing view. We stayed at site 1, which was extremely quiet and private. Camp operator stopped in and informed us of a bear sitting.

bring your own wood. We went on a Thursday, apparently there is no wood on Thursdays. if I could have i would have stayed much longer.

$20 for unserviced.

Space for a few rigs. The turn off from the road is a little dicey but that's the worst of it. Beautiful area. Excellent AT&T service.

Simba Safari Lodge will become a stunning location when finished. A lot of trees have been planted.
Bar and Restaurant still under construction. Next project will be the campsite.
For now you’ll get the key for one of the A-frame bungalows for toilet and a hot shower.
I could park right at the waterhole and they even laid out an extension cord that far during the night. During daytime it was needed by the builders.
There is 1 lovely grassy spot right next to the bungalows for smaller vehicles to camp, but I preferred more privacy and went to the waterhole. Had waterbuck, impalas and elephants visiting.
People are extremely friendly and go out of their way to help you with everything.
Water for shower from the borehole is a bit salty but there is a tank with fresh water for drinking.
Free WiFi at the bar area, but otherwise a very good Safaricom connection, as the antennas are not far up on a hill.
Price still 500 KSh pP until building is finished

the parking lots of these stores are quiet and normally don't have any "no parking" signs. added bonus: most have an electric outlet available by the ice machines. I plug in for a couple hours while I sleep.

Paramos na rua, em frente a Igreja Sagrado Coração de Jesus, lugar tranquilo, calmo e seguro. Conversamos como Padre que permitiu encher o tanque d'água e que em outra Igreja teria como usar energia. Ficamos duas noite neste local.

We stopped on the street, in front of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, a quiet, calm and safe place. We talked with a Father who allowed us to fill the water tank and who in another Church would be able to use energy. We stayed two nights at this location.

Don't try to go round. They caught up with me, found an empty bottle of rum and try to stitch me up with a faulty breath analyser. Talked my way out, but they are obviously corrupt

We slept on the lower level. Super nice view and fishing possible but millions of mosquitos.
Couldn't sleep good as it was very loud. Trucks stopped there in the night and let the engine running direct next to us for hours.

This place is fantastic! Well spread out sites (I think 11), pit toilet, huge fire pits, mountain views, burbling steam. Stream crossing with truck and trailer no problem. Fun 16 km hike to look out right from camp too.
