Really expensive for what it is. We stayed exclusively because we wanted to walk home from Sunset point at dark when the shuttle wasn't running. Unless that's your plan you can do better. If you do stay, there is a path to the top of the hill for excellent strategizing behind some sites.

a well graded gravel road off the main highway with ample places to camp for tents, big rigs, or vans. beautiful rainbow rock formations and very quiet. I had one weak bar of ATT

Reopened on 1 June 2022 after renovations. Fully operational fuel station.

An NGO project dedicated to studying TB and health equity. As a side project they rescue injured animals. Plenty of snakes and large birds. They also have some members of the cat family, Genet, Civet etc. BWP 35 for adults. Kids BWP 10 - under 5 years go free. Guided tours at 11h, 13h and 15h. At other times you can roam the premises. Some animals can be petted. Great fun for children.

Perfect location, spacious and plenty of room for big rigs. Clean ablutions with hot showers. You want to enter from the Airport Road.

Ruben is a great dentist for anyone visiting Quito that needs any type of dentistry work done. (From a cleaning to a root canal, he does them, and for anything he doesn't, he has recommendations for someone that does.)
He studied in Brazil, and completely speaks English so there's no worry about any language barrier.
He says he's worked on many travelers/overlanders through the years.
Prices are good (at least, compared to the states) and he does a real good job.
We went in for a root canal/tooth infection and ended up getting a whole lot of other work done too. We plan on coming back to Ruben to get implants done as well.
He understands that travelers are on a tighter schedule than most, so he'll do his best to get you in and out as quickly as he can/you have time for.
He has his own office, on street level, with street parking out front. One day (out of like 4) there was a parking lady that was taking payments (40c an hour) and Ruben even paid it for us before starting. Don't know if he always does this, but it was a nice gesture.
Overall, highly recommended for anyone needing any kind of dental work done.

Have stayed here or close by many times but can no longer recommend. Crackheads have moved in and set up a homeless camp. Someone made an attempt to steal bikes off the back of our van. Not sure what scared them off but we moved back across by Nissan stadium.

Gas station, full service with propane refill and mechanic on duty. Friendly and helpful.

Small spot right off the forest road. Fire pit. Fairly level with room for multiple vehicles.

Small campsite, slightly secluded, just before a first road turn around. Plenty of shade and a fire pit. Not very level.
