Ruben is a good person, he received me quickly. I was in pain because of my wisdom teeth.
He took x-rays and examined me.
Then he told me that I could wait until I returned to France. And he gave me some advice.
He didn't charge me. I left a tip for his assistant.
He is an honest and reliable person.
So if you need an emergency consultation he is the right person.

Ruben is a great dentist for anyone visiting Quito that needs any type of dentistry work done. (From a cleaning to a root canal, he does them, and for anything he doesn't, he has recommendations for someone that does.)
He studied in Brazil, and completely speaks English so there's no worry about any language barrier.
He says he's worked on many travelers/overlanders through the years.
Prices are good (at least, compared to the states) and he does a real good job.
We went in for a root canal/tooth infection and ended up getting a whole lot of other work done too. We plan on coming back to Ruben to get implants done as well.
He understands that travelers are on a tighter schedule than most, so he'll do his best to get you in and out as quickly as he can/you have time for.
He has his own office, on street level, with street parking out front. One day (out of like 4) there was a parking lady that was taking payments (40c an hour) and Ruben even paid it for us before starting. Don't know if he always does this, but it was a nice gesture.
Overall, highly recommended for anyone needing any kind of dental work done.
Hours are from 9am-6pm, but just email him beforehand and if you mention you're traveling he'll find the best time to fit you in. Email is [email protected]
