Nice little state park. Host is a hippy and sells fire wood for a perfect price. Facilities are not the cleanest. You can also rent a kayak for some lagoon tour.

Big campsites with Braai stand and electricity on each stand.
Ablution is really nice.
a few trees on each site. 175 pp for the sites where you share ablution. 225 pp for those with private ablution.
The reception is at the store by the petrol station. Store is surprisingly well assorted and staff really friendly.
Cheaper to stay here than inside the park, but you have to wait until gate opens at 7:30 to enter.
OBS! motorcycles not allowed in the park anymore, unfortunately.

Some spots along this road, first couple spots were taken so it’s definitely a popular spot but so beautiful and quiet, pack out!

This is one of the nicest parks we have been to. The washroom and showers facilities are very clean and each stall is a private room. It is totally handicap accessible. There is water bottle filling stations in the buildings. We enjoyed the long bike trails. Each stopping spot has access to the lake on the trail and they are all wonderful views. There is remote rustic cabins available and yurts as well as the facilities I provided picture if.

We had a very quiet night parked on the east side of the plaza where it seemed to be more level. Lots of garbage cans and benches all around plus there was a large hand washing station ( no soap). We visited the incredible Paquimé museum $85 pesos per person then had dinner at the only restaurant we could find. It was odd to not see food galore all around the plaza.
There were a number of lonely and friendly stray dogs including a puppy. They weren’t a bother at all. We gave them lots of fresh water and some food.
We did check out the lagoon on the other side of Nuevo Casas Grande but it was a bit dismal out there especially at this time of year ( June) when there was barely any water.
Casas Grandes was a much better choice for us. All the locals were very friendly.

We stay here one night for free. We were told by police to come here. Staff very friendly. Even when we did not eat at restaurant. We could use wifi from hotel. Following morning we were asked to be escort by police but we said no. They only asked us to give a life location by what’s app for one hour.

Small campsite on a small lake. Nice cottages but also places for campervans and tents. We paid 300 NOK for our van for one night. Free canoes to go on the small lake, showers are 20NOK for 5min. Camping is beautiful!

Nice dispersed and free campsites with plenty of spaces. Road can get rough toward the end and closer to the start of the trail.

Awesome dispersed campsite. Free. Stayed in early June. Was comfortable. Truck camped in a GMC 1500 with cap, some sketchy clearance moments with some rocks and big trees close to the trail in. Some sketchy moments exiting on the trail out. Stay near the entrance if you have concerns. At the time, remnants of trash, old tents, etc was left at multiple sites. Woke up to a beautiful view. Would 10/10 visit again. ~1hr from RMNP.

$8 for overnight parking. Separate lot for cars and campers staying overnight. Safe and quiet. Staff was nice as well. They have bathrooms in the recreation centre that you can use. We didn’t get wifi from the parking lot but I am sure there is some inside the building if you need it.

The sites are not so big and mostly not level. The price of 62 $ for a non Idaho-resident is usury.

Established campground, available mid-May to early October, for camper vans, RVs, or tents. Each powered camp site has a fire pit, picnic table, water, and electricity. The tent sites have fire pits and picnic tables, with shared access to water. Clean bathrooms with hot showers. Coin-operated washers and dryers. Really nice playgrounds for kids. There is a boat launch and beach access, as well as a golf course next door.

We had a nice, quiet night here during the week. Many of the seasonal campers are around on the weekends, so I imagine it would be busier.

It is best to call ahead (we called 45 mins in advance), as the main office is not always staffed on quiet days.

Great place to grab a shower if you have a Discover Pass. Like the other reviews say, it’s 50 cents for a 3 min token. The park staff opens the doors around 8am. The park is an awesome place to hang out at too.

The parking lot is definitely still open for overnight, not sure why the other pin was saying it wasn’t. Have stayed here many times going back and forth between Seattle and Spokane. Lots of van life people when I woke up in the morning. You really can’t beat this spot for a night, short walk to the action and beautiful views of the mountains. Extremely grateful for the city of Leavenworth to offer this, wish more places did.
