Description

$25/night campground with about 10 sites, firepits, pit toilet, firewood, picnic tables. Close to a river, lots of mosquitoes! We were told there is a grizzly and some moose in the area, so be bear-aware!

It’s 20$ per night now. Stayed across the Highway, there is a random (dispersed) camping area- stay limit 14 days.

Full of snow but road was scraped to pit toilets and could turn with trailer-needed 4x4 . Quiet evening and fire pits. Someone left firewood-thanks. Short walk down to frozen river. Toilets clean with paper . Will use again

Slept here for the night, free and found some wood next to the still frozen river. Very nice and quiet :)

On the otherside of the highway are wild camping spots and less people.

Nice spot near Grand Prairie to stop for the night, we checked out a couple along the way (way nicer options before grand cache) and clean. Fire rings are nice camps are what you would expect, wouldn’t be my first choice for a couple days, but after a 12 hour day on the road was nice to have a fire before bed.

Nice quite night, with a lot of mossies. Fire wood is free but wet, so its hard to keep your fire burning. Not to busy and its free

Report Check-In

Very nice place. We can recommend the place, we were alone there. Beautiful clean picnic tables and fireplaces, firewood is also ready. Unfortunately there are a few idiots that throw your beer cans in the forest.

Report Check-In

Nice for one night! Some construction workers stayed there and it was a bit noisy but it is close to the highway and for free :)

Report Check-In

Great spot along the highway to spend one or more free nights. Max 14 nights. Fire rings, firewood, tables, put toilets, trash bins. Very faint highway noise. Non-potable water available via pump at campsite closest to the turnaround loop.

Report Check-In

Minimal highway noise. Nice, quiet and clean camping area. Firepits and wood available at no cost and the pit toilets where clean enough.

Report Check-In

Good for a quiet night after a long day of driving. Not busy.
The spot by the Cutbank River north from here was very busy with locals and trashed. We were happy we drove the extra 30 minutes.

Report Check-In

Closed from oct first till may first. Nice place. You can hear the highway but quiet at night. In early spring when the ice in the frozen river or nearby creek breaks there is a chance the area gets flooded. This year the chance was 100% and the water level rose fast when the flood wave came in.
