This is the parking lot for the Kennebec River Trail. Large paved lot with no signs indicating no overnight parking. Large bridge overhead with cars, but not so much at night. Right next to your ear and the walking path is nice.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Great spot for the night. Relatively quiet with just the bridge overhead— if you have a fan/white noise, you won’t hear any cars.
Report Check-InFantastic overnight spot at the trail head to the Kennebec River bike/walk/run trail. Directly under the bridge but dark enough at night. Quiet. Close enough to walk to good selection of restaurants for dinner and breakfast. Many closed on Mondays however. 1/4 mile down the hill to the left of the trail entrance is park with picnic tables, river view and portable toilet which was in very good condition. One of my best Overlander stops.
Report Check-InNice big parking lot. I didn't stay the night but sat in the parking lot all day editing videos, running my generator and AC.
Report Check-InI drove by to check out the site and didn't see any issue with staying here for the night. In the end I decided to stay at the Mill Park lot as it was further away from the traffic.
Report Check-InVery calm in the evening. A bit more crowded in the morning. We had no problem to stay there and very central.
Report Check-InHad a chill night, it's a nice spot! there's some construction nearby, but nobody was working the entire time we were there on a Friday evening/night
Report Check-InBusy parking lot during the day but cleared out and was quiet at night. Right next to the river walk. Good for a night or two.
Report Check-InGreat spot, peaceful sleep last night!! Right on a trail.. Biked a bit too.. :)
Report Check-InGreat parking under the bridge down by the river! Shade all day and night. Very nice at night, little foot traffic at night. Daytime is a great trail used by many.
Report Check-InStayed one night, trail by the river, under a cool bridge. The "pit toilet" is a portApotty. next to a bus stop.
Report Check-InWe stayed here the night on our way back from
Acadia. There are many open spaces and plenty of relatively level spots. We heard some construction in the morning but nothing too terrible.
Arrived around 7:30 on our way back from truck camping in Fort Kent, lot had a fresh coat of snow. Spot is perfect for a night.
