The place is amazing. The toilets and showers were very clean and the whole place was well maintained. We saw lots of turtles while snorkeling. There are some rocks in the water but they re not sharp. On the beach there were many turtles laying their eggs.
When we arrived the gate was locked with a chain. When we called the number on the entrance the owner immediately picked up and said that we can remove the chain and it's not really locked. We had a very quiet night and payed 50 pesos per person and 50 pesos for our car.
If you want to call in advance the number is: 938 140 0726
Only downside is there are some sandflies..
Big recommendation!

Trailhead with a porta potty. Incredible views. No signs prohibiting overnight parking, but trail map says the trails are a day use area. We stayed with no problem based on the previous reviewer who stated policeman said it was fine. No trashcan.

Free public parking to access the hot pools. To access it you have to reach the RV park entrance and bypass the registering gate by staying on the right line.

Nice spot.
The road has gone partly due to a land slide. Still accessible but maybe not for large vehicles.

Along this road are a few dispersed sites. Fire rings- no other amenities. Along the Pebble creek. Quiet- only one car seen. Road in is dirt but smooth. Creek is a cutthroat trout spawning ground- forest service is working to enhance it. Beautiful!

We stopped to check it out but did not stay. Rio Grande National forest, $24 , $12 with a pass, a night, shady and right on a singing river. Only one trailer here, empty! Really nice, immaculate wooden built bathrooms with pit toilets. Really clean. No camp host but be honest and pay. Spacious sites, all with tables, bear lockers and fire rings but there is a burn ban so NO FIRES! The Forest is so dry with fallen spruce trees that it will be a tinderbox with a few sparks. FYI: many free sites in the BLM next to the cg along unused railroad next to river.

Gorgeous boon-docking sites next to an even more gorgeous river! Many dispersed spots along road, many for small rigs. Some big rigs can fit. Beautiful Spruce trees not killed by spruce beetles plague. Great road, easy driving. You know the rules: pack it in and out, dig holes for your crap, no fires, keep your music on the down-low, do not throw Bud beer cans or snack bags into the wilderness. And do not use the fire rings as your trash receptacle. Keep them clean. NO fires!!!!

Have fun in this beautiful spot!!!

Super spot in Mindo. Felt very safe, although at night some guys came there to smoke weed and listening to loud music. Everything else as described, nice spot.

Camping on the parking of the teleferico. Toillets clean shower not working properly. They were just building cabanas so maybe more infrastructure in the futur. Payed for two ppl 10USD pn. The first teleferico was 8USD pp and the second 5USD pp. Nice hike to the cascadas during rainy season.

level street parking 50:feet from town square. No amenities. Next to the wall of the local military base. Some street noise, but quiet after 9pm. Locals were friendly.

We stayed here before crossing the border to Peru. If driving in from Vilcamamba, the drive takes 3 1/2 hours. The road turns to dirt 25 km north of Zumba. It was dry season and we had no problems... except for slow going. During rainy season, this road looks like it could get messy.

Nice site with awesome views! The fire pit isn't there anymore and there is a sign on the post that says "no campfires" now.

Nice spot for camping beside the river, also for several days. Easy to cross because there's little water. Quiet and peaceful night with relaxing sounds of the river and millions of stars above. Good starting point for "Estaciones" or "Vuelta al Pique"....

Stayed for a night. Park was busy but found a spot right by the creek. Plenty of firewood available located in several locations. Pit toilets all throughout so not too far a walk from any camp. Noon checkout. $20 CAD

Beautiful spot along Fremont River with painted hills behind us. There are some upper spots that any rig can access easily. There are lower spots next to the river that are more sandy and the road down is a little rocky at first. Pristine condition when we got here. Please keep it that way by packing out all your trash and waste. This is not the spot to try and dig a hole to poop— too close to the river. The park entrance is 2 minutes away and has pit toilets you can use.

Potholes still gigantic on the entire drive in from the highway but we made it one piece with a 20’ camper van. Fees increased to $26 per night but there were plenty of open spots if you’re willing to risk your suspension.

primitive campground near the river with vault toilet and trash/recycling facilities. 7ish sites, not much room to park a vehicle, somewhat sketchy road to access but our 22 ft camper van 2wd did okay. lovely lakeside beach not too far away. campsite is $20 currently and need a pass to enter the larger park area (national parks pass works). campsite itself is quite and shady.

We filled with diesel here, $5.31 advertised price, turned out the diesel from the trucks side ( heavy diesel) was $5.39, it was the (light) diesel at the non truck side which was $5.31.? 80 gallons but still cheaper than prices in Utah ( so far).
After filling with fuel we headed off, in the dark, to find a camping spot off a fire service road. Turns out that due to fire risk, forest staff have close all service roads to campers. Returned to service area where we had a nice meal in Mary’s Diner. Staff gave up permission to stay overnight in their parking lot at the rear which had other trucks and RV’s parked up.
Staff at filling station also said we could stay overnight, parking lot is one area part paved and part unsaved, despite being separately owned. Typical truck stop. Trucks coming and going all night so have ear plugs but good in an emergency.
Easily accessible by all types of RVs. We have a 37’ Class A with toad so pulled in behind other trucks without having to back int a spot.
Thanks Mary’s Diner.

Plannned to stay at Little Molas Lake but it was still closed for the season. We camped at the one spot on the left as the right road needs 4x4. Not bad but I wished I would have continued up route 550 north to Kendall Campground.

A lot of parkings next to each other. We choose one and had a nice sleep. We were just by ourselves, no one else. Safe and ok.

Big rig possible!

We have a Mercedes 1222 truck (9m long, 3,6m high, 2,4m wide, 10,5 t, 4x4, high clearance, crouching gear). We came from the entrance of augrabies National Park and took the long gravel route through the mountains. Google maps said 1 h. We took more like 2,5 h with many stretches in crouching gear. Don't do it in dark. During daylight it's a technical drive but definitely manageable with a big 4x4 rig. Crouching gear highly recommended.
