This is actually a great location! Cool mountain views and some separation from everyone else. Can't hear the highway from where we camped. Highly recommend taking the dirt road, if conditions are favorable.

Came across this spot while driving through the mountains and decided to stay for the afternoon and work here the next day. It’s $8 a night, there seem to be a few long timers that are posted up. The dogs are still very loud in the nearby houses, but didn’t bother us. The views and sunset were spectacular, the weather was perfect. The sites were all very clean and trash cans and bathrooms seem to be regularly taken care of!

Nice place with friendly owner and caretaker. Beautiful views of the gorge from where you can camp. No proper campsite by now as they are still building chalets, etc. But you can already use facilities such as flush toilets and cold showers. They asked for 10 USD for 2 people which seemed fair to us. No Econet network.
**** Don't leave any garbage behind. The kind caretaker whiling to help, took our bin bag but I saw him throwing it right at the river. I took it back of course and explain why. But he doesn't have any better place to dispose it anyways.

Free dump and potable water at rest area. Not much parking if you want to stay overnight (we didn’t).

Very lovely location but today was hot! Ran the generator to make it tolerable. Please note, when you enter just after crossing the cattle guard turn right. I went straight and had a heck of a time turning around my pickup and 28’ rig in picnic area parking lot. 😉

Good shade. Level spot. Park has power (50a,30a and 20a) water but no sewer. Dump is close to most lots.

you can drive on top. the road is pretty bad. just one place outside the fort.
if you are in regular van you can Park inside. less than 10 feet hight.
night gardian can also make you a tour into the fort and tell you the sad story of this place. 2$USD by peolpe and 2$USD more for prison corridor.

A single road around a fishing pond with cows and birds on the outskirts. There were a few fishermen on the weekend but only the occasional drive through during the week. Some train noise, some noise from the working farms nearby.

Good cell reception Verizon. Wild donkeys. Nice sunset mountain views. Down side: some small power line installation and graffitied run down building nearby. Otherwise a nice spot for a night or two.

Nice State park - clean. Sites are spacious with the exceptions of 41-46 are a little close together, but ok for 1 night. Not much of a hiking area from the state park. Rangers we’re very helpful. Electric & potable water at all sites. There is a dump station (free if staying). Very convenient from I70 between Salina Ut. & Grand Junction Co.

Cute little campground with hookups and primitive around a lake (though it's mostly dry now in April). Pit toilets and picnic tables and firepits.
About 4km from highway. Great for a night when passing through.
