Hidden gem! Stayed two nights along the "lake" (dry). Nice and quiet, was only a few other RV's there. If you dislike packed RV parks this is the place for you. $15/night power + water

Report Check-In

nice national grassland camping area with restrooms, showers, and optional power and water. nice and quiet not far from I-40.

Report Check-In

Great spot, splendid views and fun little trails. Toilets are not great though.

Report Check-In

We stayed at the East bluff #1 area on south side of lake. Looked mostly set up for tents (strip of grass along dried lake bed with picnic tables and fire rings), but it was empty so we just pulled the van along side of loop road. Outhouse open and clean. Pay station is on north side by boat ramp. Shower and flush toilet on north side were clean and open. Sunset was beautiful. Lovely area if you're traveling along I40.

Report Check-In

It was cool, bathrooms are not clean at all and no showers. Pretty view but BE CAREFUL OF WILD LIFE ESPECIALLY IF U HAVE UR OWN ANIMALS

Report Check-In

simple hookups, water, & electric $15 with Senior pass. without electric, $5
@ site 18 with water and electric, north side of lake, or dry bed of lake. A couple of others camping nearby. Very quiet and down in a valley so not windy. Any size rig could be accommodated. Good for peaceful over night but pretty bleak environment.

Report Check-In

Quiet, peaceful and clean campground. Convenient to I40. Nice hike trails. Water and electricity.

Report Check-In

Nice spot just 3 miles off I-40. The description above re: fees and sites is representative of what we found. The lake is dry right now, but the sunset was amazing. Toilets seem to be maintained well. Fire Rings, grills and picnic tables at each site. Dumpsters all over for trash. Very quiet and flat spots to park…we were the only one’s here. Note: the West toilets were not open…we drove over to the east side and they were all open.

Report Check-In

Honestly not the best place. I got in right after dark and it was seriously confusing. Not sure why there isn't a map of the campground on the notice board. The non-electric sites are harder to find and not all of the sites appeared to have a site number (which you need to have to register with their system)

I never saw the lake (dried up?) And out of the (4?) bathrooms that were supposed to have showers only one was open. (Women's, but apparently men can use it since it's the only non-broken one)

My advice is this: pay for the day pass ($3) to use the one avaliable shower and then go to either of the two rest stops that are right down the highway.

Oh, and I barely had enough cell phone reception to send and receive an occasional text, much less data.

Report Check-In

Rustic campground (a little run down), but beautiful location and quiet. Conveniently located off of I40) approximately 4 miles). Some electric and water hookups. OHV access right from campground. Signage is lacking for camping areas, so be patient. Cell service is intermittent (we had 1 or 2 bars with cell booster - Verizon). We would definitely stay again.

Report Check-In

Nice campground, peaceful. Not busy at all. Nice double track trails for a morning run. Bathrooms are functional, could use a refresher but showers were hot.

Report Check-In

Quiet campground. Bathrooms had showers and toilets with running water. They were not the cleanest or newest but worked. Very limited hot water. Tent sites were $10

Report Check-In

Camp with electric, showers, etc. A little confusing since there is no site map. Drove around aimlessly to find a non-electric site, then had to drive back to pay station.

Report Check-In

Well located, flat clean campground. Hot showers, fire pits and picnic tables for each spot. $10 for dry camping. Quiet and nice views.. the lake is largely dry so don’t plan on swimming but still beautiful and plenty of birds and fowl are enjoying.

Report Check-In

Amazing campground for $10. Hot showers are amazing. We stayed on a Monday night and it’s very quiet. Nice hiking trails. Large pulls through sites if you have a trailer or RV. We stayed in tent.

Report Check-In

Cute little campground with hookups and primitive around a lake (though it's mostly dry now in April). Pit toilets and picnic tables and firepits.
About 4km from highway. Great for a night when passing through.

Report Check-In

Nice campground on a little lake (fairly dry now in April), some hookups and some without, good for a night if travelling through

Report Check-In

Clean, pretty, quiet, creepy… but I liked it. $10 per site a night, put money in the envelope and into the iron ranger. Pit toilets with TP and fire rings (but there’s a fire ban right now). Lots of sites, we didn’t have a reservation and came on around 8pm. There were sites in the trees with privacy or along the lake. You could also go up the bluff, but it was uneven and we didn’t want to stress the hitch. Listened to the oil pumps going constantly is strange. Squeaking, whistling, or like a faint baby animal cry is the ambient sound. Otherwise, very nice site for a night.

Report Check-In

Great spot. Not too busy. Quiet. Nice rest rooms and showers.

Report Check-In

Have stayed here before. I didn't know it was only $5 for a primitive campsite with a national parks pass! I like it even more now.

Report Check-In

low light pollution, peaceful campground with all of the amenities $15 full hook up

Report Check-In

We stayed on East Bluff #1 campground. Gravel road access and not exactly flat for camper vans, but ok. More of a day use area. Quiet and nice views to the lake. Unique stop not far from i40. $10 per night but no pay station on this side of lake.

Report Check-In

We paid $10 (honor box) for a spot without hookups. Found a lovely site by the lake. There are several pit toilets available, but the showers were locked up and couldn’t be used. All sites have grills, fire pits, and picnic tables. There were very few campers present and there is so much space it’s easy to avoid seeing them. Like the rest of the plains it’s very windy here. Overall a nice, peaceful spot to camp.

Report Check-In

Nice BLM campground, helpful host and it was mostly to ourselves. We only spent one night but they allow up to a 14 day stay ($10/night though). We had a great view of the little lake (stayed on the east side, apparently the west side is more for party groups and dirt bike folks) and access to 30 amp electric. Water was shut off at the time (February). Would stop by again.

Report Check-In

Beautiful, quiet oasis in the middle of a long flat drive! Tables, fire pits, and grills right next to the lake. Bathrooms were closed but water and electricity worked fine. Watch out for mice getting into your food at night (they even got into our van!) Some trash along the beach.

Report Check-In

Stayed here for one night. Nice little campground a few miles off of 40. Quiet and only one other group there

Report Check-In

Didn’t found the envelopes and where to pay!
Will spend the night and see tomorrow if can find where to pay. Electricity and potable water available! Spots not 100% leveled but good enough.
Nice and quiet place

Report Check-In

Great little campground not far off I-40. $10 with our National Park Pass for electric and water site. Dump station and pit toilets. No showers.

Report Check-In

had a really nice night to ourselves here right by the water. quiet and easy access.

Report Check-In

Our favorite campground! Quiet, amazing ATV trails, water and electricity for RVs, and very well kept campgrounds.

Report Check-In

A few miles off I-40. Secluded and remote. There are different sections of the campground and the sites have picnic tables and fire pits. Very few other campers in mid September. The bathrooms were closed and locked otherwise this campground would have been rated a solid 4/4.5. We did have a rather large raccoon and an armadillo visit us before bed so be prepared for wildlife.

Report Check-In

as described, but there are notices that toilettes and showers closed. If you come around the lake from the dam ,take a left and a right at the Y to find the pay station .

Report Check-In

Beautiful oasis in the desert! Nice breeze in the evening to cool down. 98 in day, 68 at night. Beautiful sunrise. Clean area. RV hookups if you want them.

Report Check-In

Best Camping in usa 🤣Hot shower, clean toilet, with annual pass 10usd per site with electricity. Offroad track available. Very sillent at night.

Report Check-In

Nice quick stop for the night. Flush and pit toilets available. Showers also.

Report Check-In

Nice sites, some pull through. Some have electricity. $10 per day plus $5 for electricity on the honor system in a drop box. When we stayed the signs were there but the drop box was gone, not sure if someone took it. Beautiful place.

Report Check-In

it's a grassland camp as the name suggests. well kept (usual trash you'd find in firepits in established camp areas) with 3 long drop toilets so they're relatively near. a lot of spots to choose from. did the trick! swing set for kids. covered group picnic area.

Report Check-In

Quite a few places around the lake. Per site per night $ 10. Electricity $ 5 extra. Fees in envelope in honousty box. Easy access for all rigs. Very quiet.
