In case everybody else didn't say it enough: SOFT SAND. Especially on the North side, but even the south side can get you. I have a 2WD medium-clearance truck that has gotten me through some sketchy stuff, but my hubris in this beach meant it took nearly 2 hours and 2 4WD trucks to get me out. One of the 4WD even ended up stuck for a bit. Obviously a lot of that whole experience was my bad, but the point is- be cautious.

2022 update. This spot is overlooked to the north by a beautiful 2-storey casa with roof deck and overlooked to the south by the current construction of a similar property. Large development going on for the entire area to the south. Cool spot to access the beach from, the road in is bumpy and windy but not too bad, single lane but totally doable in pretty much any rig. Might want to think twice about staying overnight though, pretty soon it'll be just an exposed parking loop on the beach directly surrounded by homes. We did stay and had no problems, still a beautiful spot, but many would probably hesitate because of the adjacent homes + construction site. We are in a 21ft Promaster and there is room for 3 or 4 similar vehicles. If you want to tent camp on the beach then this access site is perfect. It's a beautiful beach with very big waves.

A little paradise! Really big rigs can't enter, though, perfect for all others. One of the most beautiful campsites we have encountered so far in South America. Very friendly owner family! We stayed four nights. Whole-hearted recommendation.

Found a great spot for the night. No one here but me. The sign says I can stay here for 3 nights if I wanted to. And it is free

We asked the YPF employees if we can stay with our small motorhome for one night. He was not really amused, but let us stay for one night. But he told us that we should leave quiet early in the morning (around 8am) as the parking will be needed by customers.
The shop closed at 11pm, but toilets were open all night.
The next day, we found another YPF further west (if you drive towards Villa Campanario along the lake side). It has more space and there were some other motorhomes. Maybe this is the better option, but far away from city center.

you'll have to drive aboud 2km on a gravel road, then there's a beautiful spot in the middle of the mountains. no vehicles driving around in the evening or at night, a few vehicles in the morning tho. also there's a fire pit but it's really windy so be carefull when you go to bed, make sure it won't start again with the wind. the sunset was incredible! I went for a little hike to go take some pictures and it was really beautiful. be careful with cactus, and enjoy!

Spent a night here in our car. There is a big gravel parking area with trees. Very quiet, only one guy drove by on a motorbike, other than him no one came passing by.

Local seguro, em frente à praça dos exageros, dentro da praça tem banheiro, água e tomada. Não aconselho usar a tomada e a água para recarregar o motorhome. Muito movimento de manhã ocasionando um pouco de barulho!

Showers at the Coyote Corner across the street are permanently closed. Also you are definitely taking a chance sleeping in this parking lot as it is not legal regardless of the lack of signs.

Several gravel pullouts in this location that are usable for vans and big rigs. One site on the road is posted “no camping” but there are plenty more up and down the road. Cheers

there are no overnight signs indicating your vehicle will be towed along the entire back row of the parking lot, and the side lots as well. park at own risk.

the gps coordinates were a little off for this spot, but i was able to find the gamelands sign, so i pulled onto that road and the parking lot was a little ways up the road on the left. we stayed here one night ~ its a very large gravel lot surrounded by woods. cops did come around 9:45pm and grilled me and my girlfriend about why we were there, our ages, how we knew each other, etc. but then told us we could camp and to lock our doors. seems to be a regular patrol but overnight camping it definitely allowed. there were a couple cars early in the morning, but no one stayed long. my only complaint is there was a bit of broken glass on the ground from beer bottles and we travel with a dog and cat so i was worried about their paws.

Great RV campground, very spacious. All sites are electric & water for $14 + $4 reservation fee. You must reserve online currently, we drove through and checked it out before committing. parked and then reserved. 🤷🏼‍♀️
Showers are hot, running water bathrooms, and cell service Verizon 4 bars.

🐕Lots of Mexican grey wolves in the area, please keep your pets leashed/tethered. We talked with a couple who lost their dog a few years ago.

It is not closed! Very nice termas. Well maintained with wooden platforms around the baths. They work in groups and you have to make a reservation ahead. Number below is correct but use WhatsApp, they didn't answer our call. Time spots are 10.30-14.00 and 15.00-18.00. 10,000 clp pp. If you ask, you can pay in cash at the termas. They started the reservations due to covid, but I hope they keep it. Very nice to have a bath for the two of you and the road there is quite narrow so we were happy not to meet traffic in the opposite direction going up and coming down. They don't have a camping anymore, but they direct you to the informal campground that's marked on iO. We were happy to be able to take a shower at the termas though (bit cold, but if you do it during your visit you can get warm in the thermal bath after your shower)

Slept in the very back of the parking lot of the Holiday Inn Express. It was big enough for me to park my teardrop trailer. It would NOT be big enough for a Class A, or really anything bigger than a 15/20 foot 5th wheel and tow vehicle. Very noisy since it’s right next to the Hwy. but there’s not a lot of options when your stealth camping. No one bothered me. Cell reception: 4 Bars Verizon; 4 Bars T-Mobile.

Little place next to the road, you see and hear the road, but little traffic, next to the river. Maybe not suitable for big RVs, need to manage short but steep driveway when leaving

Antonio is not only a good mechanic but also a fait person and a smart guy. I came to him asking for a mechanical check up and also a bunch of little problems needing a handyman. He fixed everything spot on and did the check up and as he did not find anything wrong on my Laika Iveco 2005 he did not push me into changing anything... Honest and fair price... Highly recommended

Most of the road is paved, but narrow and steep. a little rougher and narrower when it becomes dirt. slow going, but not difficult.
OHV trails are closed. Call 7074684000 to find out if they're open.
Very quiet and alone here tonight.

This was a gorgeous site. Bathhouse had hot showers & clean toilets. got here after 5 stayed 1 night in an unmarked spot. Their was only one other camper in the whole place. HIGHLY recommend reserving a spot if you plan on staying longer. the back camp sites near the lake/ day park are under construction Lake access & day use only passes also available.
