This is a truck/Rv stop. There is a designed spot just for RVs to park. It wasn’t too loud, but you could hear the truck's engine on the other side of the parking lot. There were a few trailers, vans, and cars parked next to me. There is quite a lot of space, so you most like will find a place to stay the night. Lastly, there is a Denny’s and McDonald’s within walking distance.

Lady first tried to get me to pay $250Q. I laughed. Told her 20Q. She then brought sheet over and said I was a medium van so it’s 50Q. I held firm at 20Q. After 3 minutes of sitting there she let me through for 20Q.

Don’t give in

Really wonderful spot. All info here still seems correct, but figured a 2022 update would be good.
VZ service- excellent, some of the fastest we’ve seen anywhere (300Mbs down/20 up, although it may slow down with summer crowds)
Beautiful lake- probably not for swimming but nice to look at and some of the best rock skipping we’ve ever done
Only downside is the ~8mi of dirt road to get here. Overall the road is in pretty good shape, no significant ruts or anything, just some washboard.
Had an extremely quiet night and day.
Can’t vouch for the rest of the year, but at this time it is a lovely, peaceful place. Please keep it that way!

Ok spot for one night. Very exposed to the elements - pretty hot and windy when we were there. Not ideal if you're tailgating like us. As another overlander mentioned lots of nails waiting to take out a tire.

I called prior to arrival and asked if overnight parking was allowed for RV customers and they said yes, as long as you are not blocking anything. The phone rang for a long long time before someone picked up, so just be patient when calling to ask for permission. :)
Stayed the night without issue!

Amazing park with beautiful sun sets. Stayed multiple nights. Nice town and great people. City is within walking distance. If you have a OHV I highly recommend hitting the sand dunes down the road. Lots of hard dirt packed trails to ride up and down the little stream of water.

Top shelf rest area! Displays and benches inside (I read a book inside late afternoon). Super clean restrooms. Slept with ear plugs to cut out the interstate noise. Park according to the wind as the facility is on a septic system. I was down wind (west side) and occasionally got a faint whiff.

You can easily park an RV in this public parking lot. The ticket costs 10$. The sandy beach is only a few steps away.

An absolute cheek for this place per night to ask for 600 pesos / 30 USD. The location by the sea is ok. We've been to 40 RV parks in the last 5 months, none were that expensive. Toilets extremely dirty. No toilet paper. Nobody cleans it during daytime. Shower only warm and not hot. No Mexican sockets, just these US plugs. There are only 2 toilets with 1 shower each in the same room. Showers completely calcified. Light missing in 1 shower.
The maximum reasonable price for this site, which has 70% permanent campers, would be 300 pesos/$15. Due to the high price, we definitely CANNOT recommend this place!
update after 1 night:
The owner is crazy!
He asked us to leave the place after 1 night after we complained again that the crappy toilets were not cleaned properly. 600 pesos saved!

Nice, quiet spot with plenty of spaces. Majority of spots are tucked away so you have privacy and don’t feel on top of others. There’s a lot of broken glass everywhere so be careful when walking or with your pets walking around. Had 2-3 bars of Verizon entire time

Rest area, picnic table below on the far end. Right off Route 68 just before milepost 25 heading northbound or after southbound. Traffic gets quieter after dark. Beautiful view of Rio Grande and Souse Hole Rapids.

Gas station with all facilities. There is a parking lot for motorhomes at the back of the station with a socket for electricity and water free of charge. Hot and clean bathrooms. The bath costs $150 Argentine pesos for 5 minutes, but it is cumulative. It has a full with good food. Good internet working through login, which must be renewed every 30 minutes. They just ask not to discard porta potti here.

Service is ok, neither bad nor excellent. $220 Argentine pesos per kg of clothing. Weigh your bags. However, you don't have the possibility to clean your clothes yourself and they deliver you only the next day. Friendly staff.

Honduras > Nicaragua
Took us about 2.5 hours total. Not a lot of lines, just mostly handling paperwork. A couple notes:
*No car searches or scans. We were fine with the drone.
*The tourist fee has to be paid in USD, 13pp (I guess bc we’re American), but the guys with change have it on hand to exchange.
*The TIP is 30 days max and you have to go to Managua if you want to extend.
Good luck!

Small lake just west of Hominy off Rte 20. Paved road with 4 drive through pads that have electricity. Sign says a permit is required. Outdated phone numbers on sign so use 918 885 9891. This will reach City Hall in Hominy. You will be expected to pay here in the morning. The honor system. $20.00 per night. I don't know the procedure if the City Hall is closed on the weekend. Nice convenient place to camp.

El encargado me dejó acampar con mi perro bajo el techo de un quiosco que tienen en desuso.
Es muy ruidoso porque está junto a la avenida.
Los baños están muy sucios y no hay lugar para ducharse. Pero está bien para pasar una noche.

The manager let me camp with my dog under the roof of a disused kiosk. It is very noisy because it is next to the avenue. The bathrooms are very dirty and there is no place to shower. But it's ok for one night.

Good spot, great cell service, nice and quiet. There is really only one large place to park about a quarter mile off the road. There is a fence at this point, so nowhere else to go. Lots of room to turn around there though - we have a dually truck and 38' fifth wheel. The road is rutted, but fine going slow. I would definitely not try it or stay there if there was a chance of rain or if it was wet. The road going in would probably be next to impassable if it was wet or muddy.
