Description

west bound ... the nicest rest area I've ever seen. east bound very similar. 3 dedicated rv spots, parallel parking next to the sidewalk. if they're all taken you can use the diagonal spots for semis, but try to leave them open, since trucks are required by law to stop at certain times of their day. yes, there is traffic noise from I-10, and the trucks in the parking lot, but not terrible. a great overnight stay. immaculate restrooms and lobby area with 3d displays of the area in bygone eras. picnic areas and nature trail (though there's not much nature to see).

Wonderful nights sleep here! The bathrooms are immaculate and the place is just beautiful. They have picnic tables with outlets which are good for those of us with power stations that may need to be charged. Free WiFi however I didn’t think it was that great.

very nice rest stop. Traffic noice was consistent and muffled.

Most clean restrooms I have ever seen on a rest area. And the building was heated ! Great night on the auto side.

one of the nicest highway rest areas we have ever visited. head for the truck/rv section, pull over on the right side. you may be able to get a spot between other non-truck vehicles to avoid the inevitable noise from trucks pulling in around you. highway noise is still a thing but reasonably quiet. fabulous modern architecture, super clean bathrooms, informative exhibits and a nice short but longer than usual "nature walk". a wunderkind of modern rest areas, must have cost millions.

Probably one of the best rest stops in Texas. Large, level, very clean, set back from highway a bit. Good nights sleep.

Still in excellent condition. We’re in a van and opted to stay on the “Auto” side. It is a little closer to the freeway noise, but further from the rumble of the idling semis. The attendant was super friendly.

Top shelf rest area! Displays and benches inside (I read a book inside late afternoon). Super clean restrooms. Slept with ear plugs to cut out the interstate noise. Park according to the wind as the facility is on a septic system. I was down wind (west side) and occasionally got a faint whiff.

Perfect place to stay the night, it’s staffed an the gentleman that works here invited us in for coffee in am 🤣, nice staff. large lot big rigs NP, specific RV spaces, ATT good..
inside bathrooms, very clean an modern.

A nice rest stop, for sure, but slightly oversold. Nice, very clean bathrooms and lots of space to stretch out after a long drive. Curmudgeonly attendant who was on duty all night, keeping a close watch on the place and tabs on who was showing up. Highway noise was the same on either side unless you could cop a spot immediately behind the visitor centre, but this is offset by the semi’s pulling in and out, so we elected to park our van on the car side and we’re happier for it. The nature trail was nice for a walk.

This is located in front of another rest stop. There is a side for trucks and RVs. Big, new, clean bathrooms! Pet area as well. Good cellphone signal (Verizon).
