Possible Free Camping just before reaching the fort on flat area to the left. If more than 10ft high park at foot of fort rather than drive to gate as you can’t turn round (we had to reverse part way back down the hill). If you go here, ask for a tour, they are great value (English available) and the story is amazing.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
We paid 2 dollars per person for accessing the fort plus 1 dollar per person for the tour. The tour was in Spanish but even with our broken Spanish bits we understood most of it, it was very interesting and yes very sad. We also had to pay for camping inside the guarded fort - 100C per person. No facilities, safe, nice sunset views (sunrise probably to as the vista is 360 degree from the fort walls), the caretaker is very nice.
Report Check-Inyou can drive on top. the road is pretty bad. just one place outside the fort.
if you are in regular van you can Park inside. less than 10 feet hight.
night gardian can also make you a tour into the fort and tell you the sad story of this place. 2$USD by peolpe and 2$USD more for prison corridor.
feel safe. quiet night. Nice view
No problem to drive up with a large vehicle but you can't enter the gate if you higher than 10 feet. You can park at the wall, but they were not happy having us there for the night. Its too dangerous they said. Inside the fort would be ok. So we left.
