Lovely camp, safe and great with kids. Absolutely everything is cash only and we burned through quite a lot having done the half day canoeing. Very helpful and friendly management. No WiFi and no potable water. The locals drink water pumped straight from the Orange River.

Great place, very calm and quiet night. Few people coming and going for enjoying the sunrise view but no hassle at all. Chemical toilets clean.

We camped here for a night after doing wadi scrambling in wadi bani khalid and before going to wadi Hawer.

It was beautiful and quiet, and as indicated before, loads of mosquitos. In the morning we had some goats.

Make sure to only come here when there is no rain coming as it will be flooded otherwise :)

Snow and fatigue made us stop our drive sooner than planned. So thankful this lot was available. Had no issues getting an 18’ Dodge van in and out, saw another van there plus a few cars. A bit of road noise, but very manageable.

Good campsite if it's not raining as there's no shelter. Monkeys are around, keep a stick beside you to scare them away. No hot showers but the lady at reception said we could ask her to open a cottage which we didn't because it was further uphill. 😅 Due to Easter weekend there were some cars with loud music during the day very close to the camping area so I would definitely avoid it during holidays and weekends. No Econet internet at the campsite. Tap water had a very strong plastic taste. Paid 7 USD ppn.

Beautiful area and amazing 2000 year old tombs and amphitheatre, but the guard was very insistent we left and told us you cannot spend the night here.

We loved staying here.
Eventhough it was overcrowded because of easter time and unfortunately was full of trash.
But the people joy, the nature that surrounds the place, trails where you can walk and listen birds, an outlook for the volcano izcatelnango (not sure if i'm writing correctly), a restaurant with an outstanding view (you can buy something to share and make it cheapier). Everything made our stay really nice.
2,5 usd per person and 2,5 usd to sleep with the car.
I agree maybe the sunset and sunrise is better in the cerro verde parking lot that is above...but here we felt closer to nature.

Bathrooms are not cleaned but they are ok. 25 cents.
Ni wifi but lot of people had data mobile.

nice place, a huge camping

During the week could be super peaceful

As said below, a great spot to spend the night if you're looking for a place between the mountain refugio and Famatina. But keep in mind that it gets cold at night + there's no wind protection. Views on the cañon are beautiful. We didn't see/hear any other cars nor motorcycles between 10 PM and 9.30 AM.

Went to the border to find out if motorbikes can ride through and were advised that the border is still closed due to COVID. Not sure when it will open. According to the man we spoke to motorbikes are allowed when it is open

5m drive from the ocean, has your usual space for caravans, bungalows, camping... there's a swimming pool, super-market and bar/restaurant.

The place is well kept, the bathrooms quite clean.

About 12€ for 1 person, 1 tent, 1 motorcycle.

on recommande fortement!

stayed one night in the north end of the parking lot. I saw "no overnight parking" signs on the south end, but there was a picture of a semi-truck under it so I assume they just don't want 18 wheelers.

The Rancho Grande looks closed but it is still open for travelers who are looking for a nice and secure place to stay. You just have to knock on the door until someone notices.

El Rancho Grande primero parece cerrado pero todavía está abierto para recibir cualquier viajero. Un verdadero paréntesis en la mitad del desierto si uno está buscando un lugar seguro, tranquilo y con buena compañía.

Rhododendron Campground: Basic campground with toilets and running water. Verizon and ATT cell signal adequate for calls. Awesome park with miles of great hiking and MTB trails. Great winter fat biking and cross country skiing as well. Book well in advance during peak summer season. Another WV treasure.

Large open FLAT parking lot clearly marked. We took up two spaces with our 30’ bus and paid for two spaces, had no issues. Stayed four nights, no issues. Make sure you pay for as many spaces as you take up, they do boot vehicles on a regular basis. $10 for 24 hours per space during the week. Weekends are $20 for 24 hours per space. Super close to Armstrong Park and the French Quarter. Great space.

Very natural place. The owner do cottages from wood by himself also let customers work. Very creative, very special and rustic. Rent a small wooden house, for tents, motorhomes not too big, because lot of shadow/trees. Pool for hot days.

As others have said, great spot. Brand new pool cleaned daily, dog friendly, good bathrooms (with the best showers I've had in 2 months in Mexico), super friendly hosts. You won't regret staying here.

Great company. A lot of companies had closed for the season but Origenes was still doing tours this time of the year. Can confirm they take safety very seriously. We were 5 people on the raft and they brought 1 safety kayak and 2 safety catarafts (1 was a kid learning on the job but he did very well). It was 3 Chileans and us 2. The guide did everything both in English and Spanish making sure everyone understood. If you've done some rafting before, I recommend the full day. Several class V rapids and over 4 hours on the water. Super intensive and super fun. Guide took the risky parts of the river very seriously. They know their stuff. 110000 clp pp, videos, fotos and lunch included. We booked our tour through WhatsApp, quick response time.
