There's a handful of pullouts up the second dirt road off of Lovell Canyon Road (Bootleg Spring Road - in an area managed by the Dept of Agriculture: wild camping permitted). Amazingly strong cell service (Verizon gets 5G, 4 bars). Pretty quiet at night, except for the cars coming in to get to spots further up the road. If you want total peace, just go up the road a bit further.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Stayed a little further down the road, it was surprisingly pretty busy and noisy until late into the night a little bit sketchy but didn’t have any problems
Report Check-InPlenty of spots down the dirt road. Some trash scattered about in some areas. Please clean up what you bring in to keep nature looking naturey. Great phone service, fire pit, alluring views.
Didn’t find Steve the cat.
Report Check-InWe have stayed off this road for a few days and it’s Super nice. However our cat ran away last night before the rain and never came back. He is orange, named Steve, and has a tile on his collar that should register where he is if on the tile app and within range. We cannot find him after hours this morning, if you find him please call the number on the collar. Thank you
Report Check-InGreat spot! Space for everyone if you just keep going down the dirt road. Should be fine for most vehicles.
Watch out for desert critters- this morning I had my van door open for a breeze and this little chipmunk type thing kept trying to come in and join me for breakfast!
Spent 2 nights here. Close to main Road, but very quite at night.
Pull-through site. Site is relatively flat, takes a bit of effort but doable. Has a fire ring. No restrooms. However, there are vault toilets nearby at Late Night Trailhead (about a 5min drive from this location). Definitely would stay again! 8 out of 10
Some small tree coverage near beginning of the road. Not super flat, even with blocks was not able to get completely level. But very pretty and nice and cool even in September, not a whole lot of traffic noise or competition for spots. Road is not great though, watch out for floods during rainy season.
Report Check-InWe drove up a little further (36.03451° N, 115.54080° W) on a Sunday afternoon. Tons of spots, most with fire rings (which all had a small "no fire" flag: no charcoal BBQ either, just stoves this year). We could see the cell phone mast and had a great connection. Very little traffic on the gravel road. Traffic on HWY 160 audible, but otherwise quiet. Came in for one night, stayed two.
Report Check-InGreat place to spend few nights. Beautiful view, very nice in summer as it is a bit more chilly than on the city. And even some cell reception, perfect :)
We were during the weekend and it was not so crowded.

Report Check-Inloved this spot we stayed 2 nights. huge BLM with plenty of spot for everyone to park and have their privacy. it's close enough from las vegas and Red Rock Park. nice view and good cell reception were a must !
Report Check-InNoise from vehicles on the highway could be heard until about 10pm. Nice spot though. Popular spots, so pull offs further up the road were already taken.
Report Check-InThis place is alright in that it's free, but it's really busy even during the week. Neighbors are all very close so you get all the slamming of car doors and Bluetooth speakers that entails.
Report Check-InAt 4800 feet, it was only 3°C last night while it was 10°C some 45 minutes away in Las Vegas. Beautiful and quiet spot. On a Saturday night only one vehicle drove by. 4wd not required. Photo attached. #ymmv
Report Check-InEasy to find and there a few pullouts large enough for a single van. The road is good too and has 5G five bars with T-mobile.
Report Check-InThe spot I took was the 4th or 5th down Rainbow Springs Road. Great mountain views & the spots are well spread out for the most part. The road in wasn't bad & it's only about 30 minutes to Red Rock & Las Vegas. Decent amount of traffic back and forth on the dirt road, but it was very quiet the entire week I was there. Full service with TMobile.
Report Check-InPlenty of pull offs along the trail. Best internet connection is close to the highway. There’s a dirt trail right when you turn off the highway on the right where I got full bars on Verizon.
Report Check-Ingreat lil spot to stay the night ! very quiet. We drove put 34 ft converted bus in with no problems.
Report Check-InNice flat site with fire ring. 4 bars of 5G for Verizon. Just make sure you check the weather for Blue Diamond and not Las Vegas. The temperature was almost 20 degrees lower than I thought, I learned the hard way that 20 miles makes a huge difference
Report Check-InLovell Canyon Road is paved, and very nice to drive on. There are spots all along this road. Except for some cars/trucks on the road, it's pretty quiet. Good cell reception with T-mobile.
Report Check-Insafe and super quiet stay. lots of others around but not too close.
Report Check-InTook the Rainbow Spring Rd. pullout and camped at several sites along this road. Quiet, 5G Verizon, and scenic. Great place to stay if visiting Red Rock -- though the gas and time does add up.
Report Check-InThis is the best spot you'll find in Vegas. Decent cell service. No security guards will come knockin. Absolutely beautiful views. No cars speeding down the highway. Several options - just follow the gravel roads off the right. Such a great escape from loud dispersed camping off 159.
