In Muscat there are less good places, especially with a bit of shadow. Even this one here isn't the nicest, but there's a big tree, where our sprinter got at least some shadow, because at this time, Muscat has been very hot (up to 40°C). The place has been very calm, nobody disturbed us, it is pretty much flat and sandy. Do not go here, when it rained, you might get stuck.
Water you'll maybe get at the near mosque. Omantel worked well.

Small camp site suitable for 2 vans or small camper, road not too larger for access

Great spot to park overnight on your way in or out of California. The malts at the diner were decent and the parking lot is massive. There were some semis, a few vans, and several RVs parked. Does get some highway noise and it’s not the most exciting spot but I felt safe.

Nice simple clean rooms. 20000 colones with fan for 2 people. Very friendly staff. Decent wifi. Cold drinkable water available in lobby. Interior court outside the rooms. We cook simple things and made coffee there on our camping stove. Very good value for the price when driving tru.

Can't speak french? Me neither, but the comment below mine is probably something like this: Nice spot, in nature. The river is very rocky, some local people crossed it by car and one lost their bumper. Can camp just in front of the river as there is a flat sand patch.

Great relaxed spot, can be crowded in the weekends but at night everyone leaves. In the jungle you can spot many animals (we've seen sloths, poison dart frogs, birds). River is cold, facilities clean.

Beautiful BLM Land with Picnic tables and fire rings right by the creek. Clean Pit toliets. Stayed here for 4 nights with no one around very quiet and peaceful.

Still a good spot for night! It looks like Walmart nearby has 24hr security (and “no overnight parking” signs) but Home Depot is safe. There were a few other rigs here as well (some that looked semi-permanent tbh) a great place for one night!

Very nice and clean green with a lot of trees in the back. Parillas and Water.

This is a large country park that has fallen into disrepair. The entrance is open (no gates or barriers). The roads are mainly granite cobblestone and in very good condition. Lots of open grass areas abound. At the end of the road is a large car park and beyond that a footpath leads to the reservoir, where there are fishermen and people enjoying windsurfing.

There is a tap near the car park providing drinking water. There are no other facilities. Very good internet signal.

We spent one night here that was peaceful and quiet, but you could happily spend 2 or 3 days if you were to engage in water sports.

Good place for one night if you arrive late with the ferry from Chile chico. Quite windy but best protection you can get in that area. Only a bit visible from the road, better then a road pull off!

Parked around 10pm on a Saturday in April. Covered windows and was out like a light. 2 or 3 other vehicles seemingly doing the same. Little noise until restaurant was closed but nothing unmanageable. Will stay again.

beautiful campground with simple small spots. no trailers allowed, but otherwise epic if you can make it down the road. to stay here you MUST book ahead online. do not drive down and hope

Park&Ride, 3 $ for 24h. no sings about overnight, but for sure this place is not dedicated for overnight stay. There are lines where you have to fit your car. No special places for big RV. We fit the lines with 27 ft RV (but it was very tight). No other cars, no RVs for overnight. We didn't have any Metro card, payed in machine.
Great and safe location.

Very cozy campsite of 4 lots with picnic tables, grills and fire rings. Just opened so I could book the same day. You just go to the website mentioned below in another comment and make your reservation and it's free!!! You also have a potty restroom on site. Please, keep it clean, it's a very neat place.

This spot has a fire ring and enough space for two 4-person tents. I'm here on Easter weekend, and although it's very busy, it was quiet all evening and night until about 6:30-7am when everybody started packing out with their loud vehicles. The views are spectacular!

I hiked up to the mountain hut and spent the night there. Had to pay 17 usd in total. Better to buy your ticket at the office in Chimanimani because they don't always have change here.

Hut is currently under renovation. There are wooden beds and worn mattresses so bring all the rest. Rangers stay in a small hut close by and will be able to provide firewood.

This is a free camping site with fireplaces, good shadow and a little creek. There are ligths in the night and Police make rounds.
We had to ask permition to spend the nigt.
There is a quiet place during the night.

It is a very nice and safe place to take a Shower and overnight with your Motorhome.

There is electricity and water available.

This place is 24 hs open.

I stayed at the camp site at the top of the hill but found this one trying to drive out. The “Loop” road ends here. A little litter and and the regular shotgun shells but other than the a quiet place to camp

We drove north from Gilman Tunnel and one cannot get to the site from this road. The gate is locked. One has to come from the northern direction. But there are many nice sites along the road up to the gate. It is Sunday and right now there are no campers set up along the road. The temperature dropped from 97 degrees to 80 degrees at 6 PM and will get cooler as the night approaches. We hope to see the Lunar Eclipse tonight!

There are rattlesnakes here. Keep dogs on leash. We saw a huge brown snake camouflaged in leaves, rattling and ready to strike.

We did not stay here, but we saw it while exploring East Davenport. There are a couple 24 hr parking lots in the village.

Very nice camping and the best option to visit Oaxaca and surroundings with a taxi or collective.
Big grassy ground, and clean toilets and showers. There is a kitchen and swimming pool.

Jaime and Mel are super accommodating hosts! A great place to recharge if you’ve been on the road for a while. Very quiet. Cute dogs.
It should be noted that they do have STRONG WiFi available here- a luxury on the east cape!. I stayed a few times at their spot and worked/took video calls without any problem. $15/night to stay. Nice and quiet place. Paid CAD 15 for the night. No water available but there are pit toilets.
Also pit fires for almost all of the 8 camping tables.
