Latest Check-Ins

we arrived very late, but it was possible to enter (no closed gate)
One ablutionblock is completely rundown (wethink the t-rex one ;-) ), the other one has one working toilet and one cold shower. Water was available

Report Check-In

People should come here just to check out the ablutions blocks. One is completely run down and decrepit but the other (definetly not in use anymore) is a piece of art ! Looks like it has been destroyed by a T-Rex... Even in a post apocalyptic movie you wont see such things.

Lot of trash around as the people in charge still haven't figured out monkey proof bins.
Still no water for us so the guard brought some buckets of water for the toilets. No power but wathever. Nice to camp here so you are the only people up there in the early morning.
7usd pp.

Report Check-In

Indeed a large grassy terrain however very rundown campsite. Ablutions are from another age and not really clean. No hot water. Only asset is the proximity with the Great Zimbabwe ruines

Report Check-In

Still nice grassy area close to the ruins. Lots of shade. toilets rundown but functional. Cold running water available. Cold water showers. Still hosts 7 usd per person per night. Staff are really friendly. Monkeys in the morning and evening. I stayed here two nights and enjoyed it immensely.

Report Check-In

Still beautiful lawns under big shady tree. Monkeys is a problem. No water or electricity in campsite or ablutions. Still $7 per person.

Report Check-In

Beautiful place, still no facilities. Ablutions not usable but we were shown a little hut that belongs to the chalets. there was water, toilet and even a (cold) shower. Paid 7 pP.

Better option we think is the Hotel campsite.
10 $ pppn. Big rig friendly

Report Check-In

Nice grassy Aera. That's it. Ablutionblock run down and not really usable. No water. No electricity. No maintenance. In the edges of the place plenty of waste. But still 7USD pppn.

Report Check-In

We did not stay as we were advised that the campsite blt only had no electricity but also no water.

Report Check-In

We camped here for two nights. You only have to pay once to enter the Great Zimbabwe Historical Park and then you can stay at the campsite for as long as you like. Of course, the camping fee is due for each night. The campsite is nicely situated under large trees and is very clean. The sanitary facilities are completely outdated. However, a shower with cold water should work. No electricity. Good water from the tap. An aid organization from France will rebuild the entire infrastructure. The employees are very committed, helpful and friendly. You feel good here.

Report Check-In

Nice grounds. That's about it. No water in Ablution blocks, but you can hike up the hill and reception will open a chalet for you. 7USDpppn
Note, you can enter the historical site on both days on day one entry ticket if you are camping.

Report Check-In

Good campsite if it's not raining as there's no shelter. Monkeys are around, keep a stick beside you to scare them away. No hot showers but the lady at reception said we could ask her to open a cottage which we didn't because it was further uphill. 😅 Due to Easter weekend there were some cars with loud music during the day very close to the camping area so I would definitely avoid it during holidays and weekends. No Econet internet at the campsite. Tap water had a very strong plastic taste. Paid 7 USD ppn.

Report Check-In

Beautiful camping grounds with super friendly staff. Was very quiet, night sounds and stars absolutely amazing!
Bathroom/Toilets clean, though only one sink and one shower had cold water when I was there. If you see the monument book a tour with Gift, great guy and he knows every plant and animal there.

Great location in sight of the hill with the great Zimbabwe ruins. Nice flat area with brai stands and watertap on each site. Shady trees around. At the evening it’s getting fresh at this time. Toilets and shower have water. Electricity don’t run. Paid $7 ppn. You can walk from the campground to ruins. Ideal camp if you want to Visite the ruins.

Report Check-In

non-functional toilets, non-functional showers and electricity. we arrived at night and no longer wanted to look for another place to sleep. price 7 USD per person.

Report Check-In

For internationals they just accept US$ - 7 per person. Toilettes and showers totally run down, also braiis, electricity only every other day or not at all. Nice large lawn to stand on, picnic tables available. Lot of monkeys on site.

Report Check-In

Still $7pppn. It’s an impressive campsite considering it’s municipal. However, ablutions are very run down and only cold water. Otherwise it’s great place to spend an evening just next to the great ruins!

We came here late (as always) and the reception was still working. Very nice staff, campsites with electricity, braai area, stone table and bench, water tap. Grassy land with cows going around. Ablutions with cold water have new roof but are old fashioned. Price: 7 usd pppn. For the meals you can pay in local currency - breakfast: egg, beans, two toasts, sausage and tea = 5 bonds.

Report Check-In

Everything said is still here. Great place to camp and chill for a couple of days. Clean solutions, even provide toilet papers. Restaurant provides meal 6 dollars where is next to the campsite reception. Paid camping $7, entrance $15 for the site in Bond.

Report Check-In

Well worth the stay to enjoy both sunset and rise at this magical place. Only 7 USD for camping and their small restaurant serves Rice/Sadza with chicken or beef stew for 4 dollars.

Report Check-In

About 8 nice sites under trees directly under the ruins. Ablution quite rundown, but usable. Hot showers only at the rondavels. Nice, helpful people.
You can enter the ruins early in the morning with a guide (6$) or without.
Entrance fee for the ruins is 15$ pp once.
Only bad 2G connection with econet.

Report Check-In

Everything as stated below and still 7 USD pppn. A good Spot for one Night and visiting Great Zimbabwe. Several Monkeys around so be careful with your Stuff :)

Report Check-In

Very large camp area but very few campers here. Quiet, unstructured pitches in mainly open parkland but large trees provide some shade. Can walk to ruins from camp. Ablutions tired but in process of being renovated. No hot water in general ablution block but fired geyser available for showers in rondavel block. Friendly staff and night security.

Report Check-In
