Tried to go into hawk canyon with Subaru towing a teardrop and nearly got stuck(soft sand) so instead up there hill from intersection is a nice turn around with great views and 2 bars LTE. Further up road gets worse with not many places to turn around.

Great little place. Spoke with a local and he said there are many cotton mouth, copperhead, and rattlesnakes up here. Didn’t see any. But I’m sure that’s how it is all over Tennessee/Arkansas.

I wouldn't normally post a road warning but this one is the real deal. Your GPS will want you to take this way to El Cardon, but take the long way via Santa Rosalita instead unless you're really looking for an off-road challenge. I'm a pretty experienced offroad motorcyclist and this one was HARD. so far it's taken me two and a half hours to go 18 miles, and I've still got 28 miles to go.

Beautiful welcome centre with tons of parking and picnic tables. separate area for truckers. WAshrooms open all night and filtered water available. surprised how many cars and vans were there considering low season. Felt extremely safe being a solo female traveller in my minivan.

Stayed the night at Site #93, on a Saturday in November. No neighbors at all in the same loop. Paid $20.50 online beforehand, off season price. Main bathrooms/showers are closed during off season. Middle bathrooms with sliding doors could use some TLC. Not sure if I'd stay here again unless I was coming just for the caverns.

Paved road up until you turn off to the campsite. The site is near to La Sal Loop Rd. so you will hear a little road noise occasionally & be visible. Good spot for tent camping. Verizon service

Bathrooms are fenced off. Porta potties only right now. Road noise you would expect from a rest area a couple hundred feet away from an interstate. solid Verizon signal. car parking was almost empty, truck side was full.

Camping livre, acampamos com barraca de teto próximo a cachoeira. Na região tem uma antiga cede abandona, e ao lado o início da trilha para o morro do Baú. Acampamos em um platô logo acima com vista para cachoeira. Local tranquilo apesar de a noite algumas pessoas se reunir próximo ao poste de luz para beber.

Nice stay. Good path to the beach but the access from the bluff to the water was closed for some reason. Quiet campground and had a fenced-in dog area. Looks good for kids too.

We've heard from a local that you can use the shower of Monkey Hostel for 25 Pesos. May be a good option if you are parking in the street or at one of the public parking lot (which is secure here).

Parked right by the baseball field. No issues, trains didn’t seem to start up until the early AM, or we slept through them!

Best Coffee House maybe even in the whole world. Their food is just mindblowing, especially the breakfast & the Vibe as well as staff couldnt be any better. Prices are actually quite cheap too.
100% recommended!

FREE, QUIET, And located right at the southern entrance. Minimal Service even with cell booster.

Beautiful campsite 5 miles down on S. Pinery Canyon Rd. from the intersection at E. Bonita Canyon Rd. Site is on the right hand side of the dirt road. Plenty of trees with a couple of hiking trails down to the dried creek bed. Plenty of space to park about 3 vehicles. If ground tent camping, there is a lovely clearing with a stone fire pit down the hiking trail. Clean and quiet spot 7.2 miles from the Chiricahua National Monument.

We came here on a Saturday in our motorhome and camped directly at the finca. We were treated with live music and a delicious set menu (camarones on a tequila sauce), Saturdays only. Nice place. Wifi at the finca only. We were charged 250p/night.

Now a restaurant, rather than a Subway. It's ok - we had dinner.

Sadly, the site with BBQ, electricity, etc is in disrepair. Certainly no problem for us.

A few midges - noseeums, if you like - the night we were here. But, overall, a great place to stop for the night.

Stayed here for two nights. Right next to the beach. Nice owner and nice and quiet spot. You feel safe here. C3000 per Person and per night. I recommend it.

Good find, not far off the 40 though getting to it is a mountain road. Beautiful park with spots overlooking the lake. We went to the camping area up top, none of the dirt spots are level but there are spots with concrete pads too.

Primitive camping down by the boat ramp as well.

Bathrooms with showers were welcome, though the knob which has to be pushed the entire time and rather sporadic nozzle made for an interesting shower. But it was very clean!

He is working on the driveway, so parking on the street in front of the house. Internet is very good.

Easy bordercrossing, took me 1.5hours in total. No roadtax or insurance questions. PCR test neccessary, not offered at border. Then the road after Suam: the first 20km is really bad, drive avg 15km/h, then the next 30km is better gravel, and then… tarmac. It took me 4hrs to reach Sipi Falls by Toyota Funcruiser.

Went here to camp, they charged 50.000 ugx and thats without shower, only an outside toilet. Guess Daisy was lucky.. I went to the neighbours at the Sipi Guesthouse (30.000 inc hot shower).

30.000 ugx to camp for 1 person, 2 persons is 25.000 each. Beautiful view on the valley, friendly staff. Can use the hot showers in one of the rooms.

Land borders are still closed with Ecuador. We biked to the border and were told that we could not cross. The options are: taking dirt roads to Tulcan or taking a bus to a big city to then fly to Quito.

1. Dirt road (trocha): we were told there are many robberies along these back roads. Robberies target anybody who might “stick out”. We were told this by local Colombians, ecuatorians in Tulcan whom we had been in touch, people at the bike shops we went, cyclist friends in Ipiales, and migrants who had recently taken the road in which unfortunately they got robbed.

2. Bus: we decided to load our bikes on a bus and go to Cali to catch a flight to Quito. There are many companies but we needed a bus with enough storage space for our bikes. We were recommended Transipiales or Boliviariano. We came to the terminal and got tickets (bring cash; there is also Bancolombia ATM inside the station) for the next day. We recommend buying 12hrs in advance.

Boliviano bus charged 50k pp from Ipiales to Cali, 12hrs. We caught the 8am bus; arrived at 7:15 to make sure we would be ready to load the bikes securely.

Bikes have an extra charge of 30k; you could negotiate this. We did not.
