I wouldn't normally post a road warning but this one is the real deal. Your GPS will want you to take this way to El Cardon, but take the long way via Santa Rosalita instead unless you're really looking for an off-road challenge. I'm a pretty experienced offroad motorcyclist and this one was HARD. so far it's taken me two and a half hours to go 18 miles, and I've still got 28 miles to go.

The drive is absolutely amazing and scenic! it requires some 4wd skills. I was on my motorcycle with a friend and I had my first bike crash on my trip from Alaska, so just ride easy and air down your tires. No damage or injuries thanks God!
We camped at the next spot going to El Cardón, lovely spot!
Drove this way down to El Cardón today in a landcruiser 80 series. Any 4x4 could complete this trail. We were aired down as it was rocky and sandy in some spots. Just take it nice and easy, took us 4 hours to get to el cardón, with stopping to make lunch and a swim in the ocean.
