Lovely little spot to overnight with a big rig, bike or bicycle.
Turning off from the road leads you into a main gravel road Roth off shoots.

Pick a spot and enjoy.

Traffic from the main roads is barely audible in the background.

No fire wood, small trees so not much shade and you’ll need to pick a spot carefully to avoid the thorn bushes.

Not a single person or animal in sight.

As the ferry is not working atm, we shipped our truck with Cargo and we took the plane. So the immigration of the persons were easily done at the airport.
The process of the truck in Sharja were a bit complicated and needed us over 4 h.
They send us from A to B etc. incl. xray and dog check.
Payments:
- 900 Eur Shipping
- approx. 150 Eur several fees incl. Agent
- 280 Eur Port fee
These are the prices for a 6x6 MAN truck with 18 tons incl. a quad bike, so smaller vehicles will be cheaper, I guess.

Nowadays called Bullbush River Camp. Nice campsite right at the river. You park on green grass. Clean facilities. Hot shower (donkey). $10/pppn. Friendly owner and staff and they make you a fire every evening. We spent 2 nights. Only short drive from the gate of QENP. We also had a good lunch at the restaurant (that maybe was just a bit pricey $12/pp).

Nice and spacey campsite right at the river Ishasha with a view to Congo (DRC) at the opposite shore. Facilities ok, running water, and flushing pit toilet. Cold shower, but good pressure. We had 3 armed rangers guiding us through the night. And other staff made us a fire in the evening. $5/pppn + park fees. Lots of hippos at the shore. We also had an elephant visiting us at the campsite in the evening! Can recommend staying here, great experience. The campsite nr.2 has better views to the river, but no facilities at all.

The Riad is located on a small road near the big main road in Zagora. Price for one person/night with breakfast is 250 MAD. Breakfast is really good and a lot. Rooms clean and warm shower in the rooms. Not opened in summer time, because way too hot. The owner is also doing multiple day tours into the desert, so it might be good to call first to check if he is there:

+212625842404
Parking for cars right in front of the riad on the street possible. One single bike can also be parked securely inside, but for more there is no room inside.
Air conditioner with heating function is available in the rooms.

The owner is a really nice guy. He speaks at least french, arabic and german - maybe also other languages. But not English.

Rooms facing towards street are at daytime a bit loud, that is the only negative thing.

Caminho ingreme até esta praia, não recomendo vir com equipamentos muito pesados. Estacionamento tranquilo de noite. Sem facilidades.

Family run restaurant with a nice play area for children, seating outside and some inside for the restaurant (pet friendly). They have a fairly broad menu (catering for vegetarians/vegans, too) making food for breakfast and lunch (as of Nov 2021, closing around 17:00). The Rooibos milkshakes are definitely worth a try!

The farmstall has loads of local wine and beer, a wide range of Rooibos products, as well as a broad array of homemade products; jams, marmalade’s, sauces, rubs, soaps, etc. We also saw some fresh produce, cheese and meat.

If you also looking for some gifts/trinkets, there are two containers outside (part of the shop) which sell some gift items (leather bags, frames, pot plant stands, etc.), and some pre-loved items (clothing and books).

Nice and clean hostel in town. Shower is hot, room quiet spacious. No sitcom, but a fan. WiFi is fast - if it works ;-). Single room TSH 30.000,-, cheaper when sharing. Breakfast is included. Street parking available, Massai security outside.

Oasis Camp Site is part of a property with 3 guest houses. This camp site has a backdrop view of the Merweville church and koppie. The camp site is right on the dry river bed and has a braai area, fire pit, toilet, shower, washing up station and WiFi access. The camp site is also on the same street as Die Boekklub restaurant, the Merweville Mall shop and Douvoordag butchery.

Big grassy area with a few trees for shade. Is an empty field that aparently belongs to the electricity company but is open. We asked the neighbors if it was ok to spend the night and they said yes. Police passed during the night and didn’t say anything. Very safe, right in front of a few house, soccer fields close by and a minute drive to the canyon. Big rigs would fit perfectly. We spend two nice nights there.

Beautiful space for campers with tents or vans looking for a place to swim! Theres even rooms available for people who dont want to camp. I stayed here with my boy friend and absolutely loved it. Olga makes sure everything is clean. There is always hot water for showers, clean showers & clean toilets. You can even use the washing machine for 45$mxn.
The kitchen is equipped so you can cook.
There is always soft toilet paper & good vibes!
Super recommended
Thank you Olga!

A large, relatively flat area within a bend. There are lots of bushes to hide from the road. Very little traffic in the evening, practically none after dark (Friday night) with great views of the sky. Felt perfectly safe as a solo camper

Nice hotel from very friendly owner.
We could camp on his lawn or parking (flat) but he gave us a very reasonable price to stay in a family room. S100000 including breakfast.

there is dstv for sports at the bar :)

To camp, be aware that the road can be noisy...

Public park. Water spigot is next to trash can by the picnic pavilion. Signage indicates a need to get the OK from the Town Office to get water.

Entering the park is a sign (looks new) stating the park closes at dusk - so I suggest checking at the town office if you consider staying the night

Sandy spot in the wadi with high walls all around and some longer views to the sunset direction AND Sunrise direction. Amazing spot and so close to town. 4x4 is a must unless you have lots of confidence in your high clearance vehicle.
Some wild dogs, tons of trash but the further back you go the less trash there is. A bit windy. Some times no cell service sometimes 3G(Mobily)

Clearly not the right gps coordinates. Takes you to a Trader Joe's parking lot in Phoenix, not the Sonoran Desert National Monument. I haven't traveled here, just looking at google maps.

Large city/county park, 188 wooded sites. Close together, some on river. We did not stay here as primitive sites are $38. Sites with water and electric are $58. Looks very pretty. Trails, camp store, playgrounds, etc. We just took showers. Make sure you go to the office and get a free parking permit with camping or showering because they WILL give you a fine for not having one. Showers are $2 each in a heated bathroom with HOT showers. Very nice!
