I have not been here. However, let me add a note: don't confuse this with Crabtree Falls in Virginia near the parkway on rte53 (pretty close to Charlottesville & Lynchburg.) Those are spectacular falls & there are some excellent free camping spots at the top if your vehicle has okay clearance.

Nice place, but there is no accommodation except a really expensive hotel.

This is a really nice big park with plenty of parking for large vehicles. Signs say parking 8am-10pm M-F and 5am-10pm on Sat & Sun. Web site says park hours are 8am-8pm daily. They offer free water but it can take a bit of time to fill up if you have a large water container since it’s made for personal water bottles. See pictures. Great place to walk your dogs and just relax for the day. The park has picnic areas, clean bathrooms, a skate and bike park, baseball fields, soccer field and a trail all around it. Super clean and family friendly.

There are 2 water spigots at the white cinderblock structure. A 3/4 inch standard hose spigot and a 2 inch pipe. The 3/4 hose spigot costs $0.25 for apx 5 gallons, and only takes quarters. There is a different quarter slot and a bill reader that accepts bills up to $10, but that is only for the 2” pipe. The card reader on the other side is also only for the 2” pipe, and it only takes city-issued prepaid water cards, not credit or debit cards. The 2 inch pipe dispenses 13 gallons for $0.25. There are also many cardboard, plastic, and metal recycling dumpsters, but no trash services. The RV dump is free and was unlocked in the nighttime freezing temperatures as of 11/19/2021. There is a RV flush water spigot at the dump with a hose.

There are a few areas asking this good gravel road. This area has room for a few vehicles. Tucked right in to red canyon, nice spot. This is right near the trailhead so great if you're hiking or headed to Bryce Canyon NP

Nicest place we’ve stayed on our trip so far. We really felt at home at Paul and Erika’s Twiga Lodge. We were welcomed with a cold beer after a long drive and as others have said before their lodge and campsite are beautiful. It was hard to say goodbye and we’ll definitely be back again!

Food is quite ok but pricey and i think other restaurants around are a better choice.

Awesome place to spend a night! Quiet, dark, no one bothered us. Slightly bumpy dirt road to get in but shouldn’t be an issue for any vehicle. Plenty of space for big rigs as well. We did the hike out to the levee and viewing platform this morning and it was lovely. Highly recommend!

Got these spots all to ourselves. Quiet and nice ridge top area. Road was rough sharp rocks so for a full size van took about 10min going slow from main road. ATT has service here, if you have a booster expect 50mbps Up/ 12mbps Down.

Spent two nights and two and a half days here.
Payed the volunteer parking guy tips for him to keep an eye on the van while we were in town or at the beach. Felt safe enough at night, a few people came through late but in general after dark you have the place to yourself.

The volunteer parking guy asked if we had break resistant glass, which we didn't. He advised we'd be better off here if we did, so take that into account!

this was a gem of a great find for camping right on the water. It's free from 8:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. just a stated in the description, I arrived around 4:30 so I just went ahead and paid the $7 so I didn't have to scout out somewhere else to stay until 8:00. got to spot right on the beach overlooking the water. My bathrooms leave a lot to be desired but I don't have to worry about that. their trash cans available. got to listen to the sound of the crashing waves all night and wake up to watch the surfers on the beach in the morning. I stayed in the parking lot to the south of the Taco Bell as it was a little less crowded when I got there. You can stay all day for $9 or 4 hours for $7. ideally you could stay for 24 hours if you don't mind paying a little bit. would be worth it for me if I wasn't on a timed road trip. wasn't bothered by anyone and it was relatively quiet even on a Friday night. Heard some people in the distance until around 11:00. if you're heading that way, great too be able to stay right outside of San Francisco yet close. Right across the street from a Safeway and rite aid plus other various little shops. And again, if you eat that kind of stuff, there's the iconic Taco Bell on the beach right there. about 2 mph South you'll find the Devil's Slide Bunker and a really nice walking trail. paved and a mile and a quarter from the South parking lot to the north parking lot with a 9% grade. took the dog for a walk this morning and it was great.

We didn’t stay. There is a sign posted “no camping”. Even though we’re in a self-contained RV and not in a car or tent, we didn’t feel comfortable staying.

Stayed here for two night. Really nice place with several pull offs. Several places have fire rings as well. Any one can make it back here just make sure you pick a spot 1/4 mile down the road as a sign says no camping for 1/4 mile

Great place to spend one or more days. You can stay on the premises of the Rainbow foundation. Everyday kids from the neighborhood come here for all sorts of activities. The founder of Rainbow, Michael is very welcoming. They can provide food. There’s a toilet and cold shower available. They’re working on making a kitchen and more facilities. This place is very new to Overlanders so there’s no set price yet. We made a contribution towards the foundation.
It’s best to contact Michael before coming: +256 784 875022

Right by the highway, location is easy to find and yes, they filled our US 9kg tank in less than 30 minutes. Sign said 10,700 for 5kg and 20, 500 for 11kg ( perhaps these are standard Chilean sizes ). Our 9kg tank was not empty and only needed 6kg to fill it - he kindly charged us 10,700, not 20,500 ! But normally you pay based on tank size, not how much you put in it. Takes credit card as well !!!
