beebsandnugget | We did not stay at these exact coordinates as someone else was there, so we turned around and parked a bit down the road where there was a drive to park. We had intended to stay only a few days but ended up being there for a week. Lots of land to explore. It was quite and we had cell/hot spot service. The roads are very washboarded out, but we went slow and we're fine! |

Schiebockner | We stayed here after we could not reach Playa Morillo due to the extremely muddy condition of the access road. This spot is directly next to the beach with some trees for shade and no buildings around. Next house is on a hill a few hundert meters away behind the trees.
It is possible to drive a bit further down the stoney beach but the water can come up pretty far at high tide so not really suitable to camp down there. No +movil reception. |

EJ | 2 spots here. Lovely quiet place away from houses in the valley on a dirt road, close to a river.
2 (pictures 1-2): an old field next to the pull in, (down the hill). Short steep bank from road where we had to move some rocks. Flat spots for camping in the field with a bicycle or motorcycle and small tent. We tucked in by the old stone wall and we’re hidden from view of the road. Road was very quiet. If on a bicycle/foot you could get to lower level right by the river. We filtered water from there. Cold, quiet night! Comes with free dogs, a few sheep and the occasional lama/alpaca and their shepherdess. |

annendhai | For RV's only a parking lot close to the restaurant which has good food. It has basic bathrooms and the park is close to the river where you can swim. They can arrange taxi to the Maya Pyramides. Not worth it.

samgdickinson | The waterfront bar and restaurant are the real stars of the show here, the campsite less so. Camping spots appear to be a bit of an afterthought, and almost feel tucked away by the car park. Ablutions are ok. But on the whole, the place grew on us with its nice bar and deck, and clean swimming pools. We organised rafting with them which was expensive but extremely well run and well worth it from our perspective (though mind the crocs!). |

glozar75 | It was a problem try to fix our van here. The people were not empathic with us. They told us to sleep on Sunday in the front of the garage, and we did it, in a place very noisy, and in slope, very uncomfortable. On Monday, it was supposed to began the job early, but it was 14 in the afternoon and nothing happened. We left this place and save a lot of money.

Joe 1964 | A beautiful hotel with a well-kept pool. You can camp on the meadow. The pool, the well-tended showers and toilets can be used. Price 600 pesos. You can register at the hotel bar. 50m further is the parking lot of the pyramids. Spending the night in the parking lot costs 300 pesos. |

Escapethehague_overlanding | Camped 2 nights on the grass in front the the hotel. Very friendly staff and great location. The abblutions are amazing with very hot showers and the pool is clean. Not the most idyllic campsite, but great if you're looking for a comfortable place to visit the Falls. 10$ p.p |

mollybethshaffer | This Cracker Barrel allows overnight RV parking in the back of the building. This area of the lot is fairly well lit and has large spaces designated for RVs, and is facing the road--the building helps diffuse the sound of the interstate, which is nice. There are some trains that travel nearby, honking their horns at intersections, so if you are a light sleeper, this may not be the place for you. Otherwise, it was quite quiet Make sure you patronize any facility that allows you to stay overnight. For me, getting some french toast for breakfast is a lot nicer than dealing with another Walmart. (Open 7am-9pm)

tothemoonandbackpackers | Large spot next to the road that is great for an overnight stay. Only spot we could find without parking restrictions, everywhere else specifically says no campers. Right next to the ocean and if the time of year is right, you might even see the rocks covered in seals. Traffic was fairly light overnight but you might need earplugs, and we weren't bothered by anyone. Loved falling asleep to the sound of waves and seals! |

tothemoonandbackpackers | Not the easiest place to use! Was a little tricky to find. 900 pesos to enter at the Gate, then keep driving until you see the football fields. Park up here and walk down the left hand side of the pitches and you'll see the toilets, just before the cafe. I managed to get in okay but my partner walked in after me and was questioned by someone and they stopped him going in - probably because he was carrying his swimshorts and towel! If you are subtle, park the van a distance away and worst comes to the worst, wear some sporty gear, you should be fine. Also, the showers don't have doors so ideally bring a bathing suit - or a lot of confidence! |

tcowan78 | Road from General Zaragoza to here is up there among the worst I've driven in 3+ years around Mexico and Central America! Took around three hours to drive 40km, a rocky, rutted and in some places steep nightmare that will test your chassis, brakes, tyres, wiring, internal fittings, cupboard doors fastenings, nerves and patience! Beautiful views and forest, but if my van had a voice it would have done a lot of loud swearing. If you care about your vehicle I strongly suggest routing via Ambarri instead! |
