Description

After being told by a cop that I couldn't stay at the church parking lot near here, he directed me to this parking lot 100 ft from the ocean and said I had to stay here if I wanted stay in the area. Don't have to tell me twice! Apparently it's considered a rest area which is what he referred to it as, but it seemed like more of a paid beach access lot, but is free from 8pm-8am according to the signs if I remember correctly. Wouldn't stay here in a large RV, but great spot next to the waves with my minivan, and big thanks to the kind cop for letting me know.

Can confirm. Awesome spot. Treat it well.

Report Check-In

Arrived after 8pm and parked in the North parking lot. Left early the next morning. There were several other vehicles staying overnight. Backed right up to the sidewalk and listened to the surf all night long. Beach bathrooms were closed by the time we arrived and the Taco Bell does not seem to have a public bathroom. Bought some coffee at the McDonalds across the street and used their bathroom. This place is an absolute gem. Please keep it clean and be respectful.

Report Check-In

Can confirm the description and comments. I loved this parking lot. Stayed here for two nights in a row (while visiting San Francisco and Silicon Valley). It was dark which I appreciated. A beautiful view of the ocean in the morning. I highly recommend this place.

Report Check-In

Relatively quiet lot, right on the beach which is awesome. After 8am payment is required to stay

Report Check-In

**Please don't abuse this place*** it's a great cheap spot to spend the day and nite. It's almost impossible to find places like this on the coast. Keep it clean!!!!

Report Check-In

Wonderful spot. Porta potties unlocked all night. Water from outdoor shower tastes fine. Felt safe and chill. Huge and hopping Taco Bell open late, with big screen tv’s. Please, please keep this spot clean and quiet!

Report Check-In

Absolutely travelers gold. PLEASE keep this place nice so it stays available for use. Also, pleased with the lack of brightness at night, no crazy bright lights shining through windows. Very grateful for all of the previous reviews that led us here after a long day on the road and arriving late at night. :)

Report Check-In

This place is awesome! Stayed here several nights with no issue. 3 bars with Verizon. Nice to open the doors in the morning and watch some surfers, seals, and dolphins. Please make sure to keep your spot clean!

Report Check-In

Paid parking seems to be from 8 am to midnight (I don't think it is enforced after sunset though). Parking is 7$ for 4 hours +1$/hour, 7$ minimum.
At night restrooms are closed and shower doesn't work. Pit toilets 24h available however.

Report Check-In

***don't abuse this spot***

almost to good to be true. 12 hr max parking. paid parking 8 am to 8 pm, $9 for all 12 hours. free after 8.

be cool to the surfers, pay for parking, pick up after yourself and your dog, and I believe we'll keep this spot open for years to come.

Report Check-In

Multiple rigs, can hear the ocean! No one bothered us, felt safe. Slept on the opposite side of Taco Bell as this marker (lot B)

Report Check-In

We arrived and there were already several vans set in for the night. Still lots of spots available. There were port-a-potties on the lot. Not sure if there always or just because of the weekend event the next day. Either way next door is the taco bell cantina which has bathrooms. Seems like a hang out spot for locals so some loud music and cars. Signs do say they start limited parking at 8am so as long as you're up and out no problem. Overall good safe spot.

Report Check-In

Great spot for the night with water view and is relatively safe and quiet. Walked the dogs on the beach and got some veggie burritos and hash browns at the Taco Bell the next morning.

Report Check-In

Big parkinglot in front of the beach. Porter potties. You can stay here for free from 8pm-8am. Police checked a couple of cars, but left all rv’s or campers alone. Perfect spot to check the area and not too far from San Francisco. Stayed here a couple of nights.

Report Check-In

Really awesome spot. We stayed here for a few days while we waited out the storms hitting California. There is a Taco bell cantina on the beach that has bathrooms (and alcohol). Also, the parking meters were broken when we were here so as long as they aren't working parking is FREE. Expect alot of wind from the coast. We had a few neighbours with us each night and had no issues. Lot's of surfers!

Report Check-In

Well lit through the night with a few lights down the road.
Stayed 1 night, some traffic noise but not too much, slept through it.
Other vans and rvs parked along side.
Pretty view ro wake to.

Report Check-In

Awesome find. Lots of other vans/campers here which makes it feel really safe. The ocean and road sounds are definitely also there though in case you’re a light sleeper - bring earplugs

Report Check-In

fantastic! portapotties with hand washing stations and a taco bell. blissfully flat after several days of street parking.

Report Check-In

Exactly as advertised. Great spot. Good beach. Groceries and coffee near by. Lots of surfers in the morning.

Report Check-In

Stayed here on a Saturday night, arrived about 6pm and got a spot right on the beach. Beautiful, clean, wasn’t overly crowded. People really tapered off as it got dark. Quiet all night and in the am. Had no issues, felt safe. It was nice having the bathroom available. Would recommend. Stayed in our van, saw other vans, truck campers ect, wouldn’t recommend an rv

Report Check-In

Beautiful beach! Definitely try to come and catch the sunset. Lots of surfers, dog walkers and beach users am and pm but still lots of space for overnight parking and everyone was friendly. Some road noise, but worth it. Restrooms are being redone so there are current portapotties and temporary sinks for hand washing, they were pretty clean.

Report Check-In

Found this street had flatter places to camp after originally heading to site marked on the street over which now has no overnight parking signs in the flat area. This street (and most in this neighbourhood) are all free parking except Wednesday morning street cleaning. Close to the park, easy access to park toilets. Not too loud, but standard street noise.

Report Check-In

Great during week. An open sewer on weekends - overfilled, trashed portacabins; overflowing garbage cans. Overpopulated, disgusting.

Report Check-In

Toller Platz!!! Viele Surfer auch unter Woche 🏄‍♂️

Report Check-In

Parking lot for the beach. Its free from 8:00PM to 8:00AM. But then its also free for the first 30 min so you just need to get a ticket every 30 minutes. A lot of surfers in the early morning. Nice spot.

Report Check-In

Nice beach parking lot. Were a few other overnighters. Once the surfers left was decently quiet

Report Check-In

Good place to stay when needing to be close to SF. Verizon signal good. Nice view of beach. Very misty. Some road noise but not too bad. Lots of people surfing during the day.

Report Check-In

Large parking areas, ocean view, beachside! Also a bathroom building & porta-potty.
Taco Bell in the space.
2 bars 5G ATT service.
Usually $9 to park before 8pm but both machines broken today so free!!

Report Check-In

Such a great spot! We stayed two nights and parked the entire day ($9). Can get pretty crowded on weekends especially when the waves are nice for the surfers. Slept great at night with no issues

Report Check-In

Don’t stay here if you’re a light sleeper. The noise from the highway and construction in the parking lot at 4am sucked. It has clean porta potties with a hand sink which is nice

Report Check-In

Paid parking lot that's free between 8pm and 8am. Toilets in the back of Taco Bell and an outdoor shower nearby. Nothing better than falling asleep to the sound of waves crashing against the shore or waking up to a golden beach in the morning. 10/10 spot.

Report Check-In

This place and all of you are great!! We had a VRBO booked for one night of our 2 week camper van trip in order to take a proper shower and do laundry. Unfortunately VRBO was not what was advertised and we left shortly after arriving. Jumped on iOverlander and you guys definitely came through for us!! it was quiet for the most part considering it's right off the 1, and woke up to beautiful views and whales!! Thank you all for the reviews!!

Report Check-In

Such a perfect spot for an overnight stay. As many others mentioned, it’s a paid lot from 8am-8pm, so try to arrive after 8pm. It was packed during the day, but nearly empty when we pulled in. The main road can be a bit noisy, so we’d recommend parking facing the beach/ocean. After 8am it’s $7 for 4 hours. Doesn’t get much better than this though!

Report Check-In

close to amenities. I used the Taco Bell washrooms in the morning. had a great sleep. nice to wake up to the surfers

Report Check-In

Noisy from wind and nearby Taco Bell cantina which seems to be a hang out spot for college kids.

Beautiful beach but wouldn’t recommend. Veggie farm turnout to south less scenic but much better for overnighting.

Only 1 marked spot for overnight vehicles in lot south of Taco Bell (but could fit a 2nd). All other spots too small for long rigs.

Report Check-In

I recommend this place. There was a lot of vans that stayed for the night. There's a lot of surfers ! Taco bell on the beach. Restrooms opens at 7h30 and close around 6pm. You have to pay the parking 9$ for the day, 7$ for 4 hours and the first 30 minutes it's free but you have to get a ticket. There's some shower beach if you really need, but it's cold.

Report Check-In

Stayed here for 2 nights. Both nights we arrived around 730/8pm & left around 8am. Very quiet spot with a few other vans staying overnight. Bathroom facilities are always a perk! Plus you get to watch some really good surfers! We loved this spot because you’re right on the ocean & only 20 minutes from San Francisco.

San Francisco Tip- We’re in a 20’ van thats 8’6” tall- we parked at the Oracle Parking Lot (open lot next to police station) which was $18 for the whole day. Then took public transportation around the city for $13/per person the whole day. We were able to get all around the city with ease.

Report Check-In

Spent 2 nights here. Beautiful view. Only downside is that you listen to Taco Bell get deliveries and their trash removed at like 4am.

Report Check-In

Very chill spot to sleep at, has treated us well numerous times

Report Check-In

Stayed in the northern lot close to the bathroom building. A handful of other camper vans were parked between the 2 lots. Paid parking 8am-8pm, so we arrived shortly after 8pm. Some hwy noise that quieted down eventually. Someone with very loud music rolled through around 3am and woke me up, garbage truck around 5:30am. Beautiful views. Brewery, coffee & several grocery options within walking distance. Taco Bell is open till 11 and we utilized their bathroom after the beach lot ones were locked.

Report Check-In

Can only confirm what everybody said before, beautiful spot to spend the night! The Taco Bell Cantina is just awesome!

Report Check-In

this place is great! one of the few where you can open your doors first thing in the morning and have a perfect ocean view. you do have to pay though. $7 for 4 hours and $9 for the day. 8am-8pm. After that you can spend the night for free.

Report Check-In

Just as described, free parking from 8pm to 8am. We were able to sleep comfortably throughout the night without any disturbances. Lots of people in the morning though.

Report Check-In

This whole parking is great to sleep at, apparently pay parking from 8am-8pm….did not pay and did not get bothered. The washroom and outside showers are right on these coordinates. It’s left of the Taco Bell when looking at the ocean.
Stayed here twice, great view in the morning, lots of surfers! Really calm at night and didn’t feel unsafe anytime. They do lock the washroom at night which is annoying

Report Check-In

this was a gem of a great find for camping right on the water. It's free from 8:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. just a stated in the description, I arrived around 4:30 so I just went ahead and paid the $7 so I didn't have to scout out somewhere else to stay until 8:00. got to spot right on the beach overlooking the water. My bathrooms leave a lot to be desired but I don't have to worry about that. their trash cans available. got to listen to the sound of the crashing waves all night and wake up to watch the surfers on the beach in the morning. I stayed in the parking lot to the south of the Taco Bell as it was a little less crowded when I got there. You can stay all day for $9 or 4 hours for $7. ideally you could stay for 24 hours if you don't mind paying a little bit. would be worth it for me if I wasn't on a timed road trip. wasn't bothered by anyone and it was relatively quiet even on a Friday night. Heard some people in the distance until around 11:00. if you're heading that way, great too be able to stay right outside of San Francisco yet close. Right across the street from a Safeway and rite aid plus other various little shops. And again, if you eat that kind of stuff, there's the iconic Taco Bell on the beach right there. about 2 mph South you'll find the Devil's Slide Bunker and a really nice walking trail. paved and a mile and a quarter from the South parking lot to the north parking lot with a 9% grade. took the dog for a walk this morning and it was great.

Report Check-In

Is as described, a public lot popular with surfers by day and early morning. $7 to park during day at pay and display station. Free and ok to overnight 8pm to 8 am. 4 bathrooms but they were closed overnight and in morning. Safeway and other shoppes across the street easy to walk to. Pretty beach. Paved multi-use path heads north. Road noise is loud, quits during night but picks up again before light. Still, this is a great stopover in an area without much to choose from.

Report Check-In

Report Check-In

Instagram beach front spot. Free 8pm-8am. Afterwards, $7 for 4 hours. Will definitely come again if passing by.

Report Check-In

Great free overnight spot right on the ocean. Free parking 8p-8a. Few other overnight campers present. No issues or disturbance. Prepare for surfer wake up at 6am. Some road noise.

Report Check-In

If facing the water, this parking lot is to the right of taco bell, there is another parking lot also to the left of taco bell with the same parking restrictions and bathrooms/outdoor showers. I actually stayed at the other lot coordinates (37.5967053, -122.5040150). I stayed 2 nights and minimal noise throughout the night, I think this one is just a little further off the hwy than the pinned location and that helped. Either way, both are amazing spots just off the beach!

Report Check-In

Taco bell beachfront parking lot. North most spot on pch

Report Check-In

Stayed overnight here. Large lot, quietish, flat with a great view. As advertised by the other beautiful folks here. Had open air bathrooms.

PS: I stayed on July 4th. This is a local battleground between police and teens trying to set off fireworks.

Report Check-In

Packed parking lot during the day but virtually empty at night after sunset when the surfers leave. Busy again before sunrise with many surfers arriving early to get into the waves. Plenty of noisy racing cars treating Rt 1 like a dragstrip, but eventually they went away. Many options for food nearby. Very good upload and download with Verizon and AT&T. Nobody bothered us overnight. Bathrooms locked at night but cleaned and reopened in the morning. https://www.cityofpacifica.org/depts/rec_department/parksbeaches/beach_and_park_info_and_rules/linda_mar_(pacifica_state_beach)/default.asp

Report Check-In

A wonderful spot on the ocean! Tons of parking, bathrooms and taco bell too! Somewhat noisy, but worth it being this close to San Francisco for a free nights stay. We were one of about 4 overnighters and had no problems.

Report Check-In

Definitely a place to crash for the night. Free parking from 8pm to 8am without being bothered. Right on Highway 1 so lots of car noise. Decently level, just bring ear plugs

Report Check-In

was fantastic for a late check in early check out within the times mentioned in an earlier post. very peaceful with the sound of the waves.
surfers will arrive early.

Report Check-In

Arrived at 8 and there were a handful of surfers left, but the place was dead quiet by 10. Left at 7. Nice spot.

Report Check-In

Nice place for an overnight stay. Quiet and seemed safe enough. A couple other vans in the lot. Lots of surfers show up in the morning. We left by 8 am when they start charging for parking. Nice ocean views.

Report Check-In

Great spot to stay for the night. Parking lot right on the beach. Free after 8pm. Parking fees start at 8am. Only downside is there is no restrooms. Couldn’t find one open in the morning either. Good surf spot and a short drive to Half Moon Bay.
