4 designated RV/Bus parking spots. I called ahead was told no check in required. Very close to restaurants, grocery store and gas station right off the highway.

Checked in here, the shaded parking lot to the left of the main entrance. Stayed peaceful for the night. Either I had to pay or stay here. Worked out great. Say another overlander who had stayed here for three nights. You can go to tge beach thru the gate or walk up and down on road in front of gate and look for breach in fence. You should be able to get free. Great place, secure and peaceful.

Checked in at the security desk, no problems. The RV parking was nice and quiet. We were the only ones here until morning, in the morning where was also a truck bed camper in the RV spot. Nice clean and quiet spot.

Clean, level and each site has a pic-nic table and a garbage can. It is very loud due to the heavy traffic on the nearby road; the traffic subsides between 11pm and 4am. Good place to spend the night.

In order to reach this place with Google Maps it is best to exit CA13 at the Google Maps spot that is named "Desvio a Rio Zacate". After that follow the gravel road through the fields. About 300 meters before this spot are a few houses. There is a gate, which maybe open or not.
A local person (Omar) collects the entrance fee of 300L per person.
We stayed with our campervan over night at the rather nice/grassy parking lot. It was included in the entry price.

I will add a few new spots in iOverlander.

Take this exit from CA13, named "Desvio a Rio Zacate", in Google Maps, in order to reach the Pico Bonito entrance.
Follow the gravel road until reaching a few houses and a gate. Local persons will collect entry to the park.

It is the parking of this Pico Bonito park entrance. Relatively large field, some grass, surrounded by trees.
Weak mobile phone signal. Starlink just okay, with interruptions every few minutes.
We were allowed to stay with our campervan over night, included in the entrance fee of 300L per person.

It's a truly lovely spot, nicely done and by the looks of it more work is done , seems to be a masterplan. Not sure yet why it's desirable for the area to have a place like this . I figure the free electricity, water might change in the future , but at the moment is still free. only issue for me there are really bright floodlights that kills the vibe of nature and stargazing but must be a security issue.

Can't see anyone bothering you here.

nice campground in the everglades. we stayed at a tent camping spot. great location, an aligator just right next to our camp. we called him buddy 🥰 super friendly staff. we really enjoyed it. if you do not want to spend 13usd on firewood - take one of the pull offs before and simply collect some wood 😆

the basin is right next to the water tower with the solar panel.
very friendly people. you pass the toll gate on the right but do not have to go through it if you come from tombwa and go to the hot springs.

just when we were leaving, a young boy came with his goats. they all drank the water in the basin and the boy used a whole in the pipe prior of the basin to wash his face, hands and feet and later to drink the water. he also played with the water in the basin.

Lovely quiet site with flat pitches amongst olive trees. Facilities OK with a very hot shower. Seems that they are building some new ones as well. Bread man arrived at 9.10. Very good baguettes.
Very peaceful site and we slept very well.

Filled with many boats and trailers. 4 spots specific to “police parking only” - one police car there in the morning. Felt very safe due to the surrounding neighborhood and police related items. Walked to a nearby cafe in the morning. Lots of people out. Would stay again!

Small parking area along the road. Aside the lot there's a small plateau, which is super nice, tidy and very calm. From here you could take a small hike along the "Kings Eagle Path" with breathtaking views and maybe you might see the "Kings Eagle". No mobile connection here.

Beautiful bubbling river. Quite deep. Backdrop of craggy rocks. They are doing up the road so ther is a pile of road sand and shingle so I won’t look to my left!

$1 entrance for the beach parking

There are a couple of big trees that you can park under to be in the shade during the day.

There are bathrooms and an outdoor shower (a pipe) that you can use

There is also a tap next to the bathrooms to fill your tanks

All the water is clean and drinkable it comes from the mountain

People are super friendly and it felt safe to me

There is some noise from the road

It was quite empty when I was there in the week just a couple of families coming to the beach in the day but I think it will be busy on the weekends

The entrance to the place is a bit further up the road. Easy to find. Is a normal gravel road. At the end is a huge place for several cars or even big rigs.
Be careful at the edge to the river when you driving in when it’s dark.

We have a 4x4 and we decided not to go down to the river at this road as it looks quite narrow and sketchy. But the place at the cliff is very nice.

Yeah really no problems. I drove at end of day sun was setting. Still some girls walking alone and such so I don't think it's all that dangerous.

first half of the road is good hard gravel with a few potholes (if going to Flores) second half is perfect asphalt. By motorbike this is the obvious shortcut.

We stayed here twice. Once in January 2024 as we drove south then 2 nights in March 2024. This time there are lots of employees working & getting ready for Semana Santa. Stuffed shrimp at restaurant is really good! Dry camping is 300 pesos per night. Water, & electric available in some spots. Sorta long walk to banos where cold showers are located. We found banos in restaurant which is closer to camping area. 3 toilets in ladies room, only 1 with a seat. WiFi near restaurant. Hotel rooms on site. Beware of bitting bugs at sunset. Nice ocean breeze, clean pool & palm trees. Good vibes. Tavo is the owner.

Great camp spot to stop in on. Awesome water pressure. Close to beach. Turtle releasing close buy. Joe (owner) will have a few beers with you and tell you his stories. Fire BBQs available. Can hang your own hammocks / pitch own tents or rent a dorm. Camp site is filled with palm trees.
