Very nice place to stay after hours of driving in the windy dessert. Canyon with river and some plants and trees. Nicely hidden.

The road to Futaleufú is a bit rough at times and when we stayed there for two/three days we realized one of our tires slowly let air out. On our way back it was almost flat when we woke up at a campsite and were very happy to see this mechanic on iOverlander! Only 9km from where we camped. Very friendly gentleman which immediately helped us. Within one hour he fixed our tire (which had a rip in it) and only had to pay 7000 CLP. Definitely recommend!

Nico is excellent! We came around in the morning and he had time for us two hours later. Quick diagnosis, repair and great service. We had a problem with our coupling, needed a spare part, everything solved within one hour. The repair shop is very solid, friendly employees. And fair prices in the end. What a luck to have such competent and nice people around.

Very good spot to spend the night. It's a truck parking lot belonging to the restaurant next door so it can be a little noisy at arrivals and departures. We had a good night for 50 cordoba. We also ate at the restaurant which was good and cheap. The staff was also very welcoming. I recommend the place

Campsite is definitely open, to bad it’s just another "retirement campsite“ filled with French and German age >60 and kingsize mobile homes.

Nicest place to have breakfast, lunch or dinner in Puerto Morelos! Especially breakfast is awesome!
Aside from the party mile you will find a fairly new little restaurant with a lovely interior, beautiful healthy food and absolutely great staff!

Our second time here and it's just as great as a stopover. You can pull out to the front of the pool and continue down the property for seclusion in the beautiful grounds. The music stops at around 10pm, but you can get pretty far from it. We were charged 40k the first time and 50k the second time, which included breakfast. If we weren't on a tight border deadline we would stay an extra day to just enjoy the perfect weather and large pool.

Great spot, just know your crowds.
Super social, made plenty of friends here. If you skate, definitely stop by and hang a while. Lots of different groups hanging out, skating, smoking, working on their vans. Plenty of space for bigger rigs.

Honestly, OP called it; it's a hangout for the "local yoots".
Stayed 3 nights and I'll definitely be back.

Great site. Came in after dark in a 144 Sprinter with 2WD duallies. Definitely needed our high clearance. Lake is dry but what a view to wake up to. The came sites across the lake look like they are shut down, no one in site. 3 bars of ATT coverage as well.

This is the beginning of the trek known as Codo de Los Andes, or sometimes referred to as Che Guevara route. we did a tour from samaipata and walked from here to Cuevas, about 11km. it's a one way trip that was pretty interesting, but from here to the top is about 1km of very steep hill and the view is incredible. kind of like the area around Machu Picchu. we didn't pay much money for the tour, but you can do this awesome bit for free without having to negotiate a taxi back to the mountain to get your car.

only checking in to let you know that if you do the Codo de Los Andes trek from samaipata then you end your tour here. we went here the day before only to find out after the trek started we would be walking here at the end. not a big deal. the area is nice, but save your cash. entrance is free from the trekking side.

Wooow! What a beautiful place and people. While we were hitchhiking one of the people running the café picked up us and invited us to set up the tent in the garden of the café.
When we arrived we enjoyed a longed cup a coffee and kuchen.
In the evening we were invited to sit by the fire and play some games.
Slept with the beautiful view over the mountains next to the sheep and dogs.
In the rainy morning we warmed us up with more coffee by the fireplace before setting of. Highly recommend! If only for a coffee.

Dump station with rinse water. Use open camp site for fresh water. Not free but for $10, it is the best deal you can get in this area since some private campgrounds are north of 20.

Update 02.01.23‘ to my first comment. longterm residents will park they’re car almost on top of your tent "because they always park there"…
So it’s not very cyclist friendly, you need a camper van to be accepted here.

So we didn’t stay here but did stop for breakfast. The view is nice as are the people who are working in the restaurant.

As for the food… I do my best to not “review” the food i eat since there are so many variables involved - from an individuals preferences to who’s behind the grill - there are just too many things that influence ones decisions. So I’ll do my best to describe our breakfast accurately.

Total Price before tip: $890
What we ordered:
• two coffees and a smoothie
• chilaquiles w/ eggs over easy
• enchilada w/ eggs and bacon
• French toast

Our impression: french toast looked great and our son ate most of it. It had chocolate syrup and sugar so… the chilaquiles comprised chips from a bag with sauce poured over them with some onions and cilantro, the eggs were over medium (near hard) with dark crispy whites. The enchiladas had a salad on top, scrambled eggs inside, and no bacon.

The dinner menu was a lot of Italian inspired dishes that ranged in price from a few hundred pesos to almost 700 for a steak.

Hope this helps set expectations for what you’ll see and what to expect!
