Very nice street in El Poblado. We looked for a place to park for more than 1 hour and couldn’t find, so we parked here. It’s a paid street parking, costs COP4600 per hour from 8am to 1am, but the people who take care of the cars are very friendly and charged us less. Sundays it’s free (the lady who stays in the street on sundays is not oficial). The street is very calm and close to cools bars, restaurants and parties. The restaurant called Kaime, in the streeet, is amazing. For reggaeton night go to Perro Negro. We felt very safe. No facilities. At the end of the street is the best parking spot, that fit big cars (our van is 7m long).

Spent one night here. Police nearby. Almost no traffic in the morning. In the night quite some people on CrossFit classes.
There are fountains as indicated on the map.

This place I still available to park overnight. They just ask to park on the edges.

we have been here a few times. love this spot. the north entrance is definitely more narrow and sandy/dusty in spots with a super loose section on a steep hill. recommend coming in from the south. in wet conditions the road would be very sloppy. lake is saltwater and beautifully clear.

Spent a night in this gorgeous place. Windy in the afternoon but we were lucky to have a calm night and morning and clear views of the mountains. One car came and parked late at night but otherwise quiet. Many locals enjoy this area.

We passed the border from the US to Mexiko on a sunday around noon. I am always super nervous with these kind of things and went well prepared with all the copies for the TIP. The guy at banjercito was super nice and helpful and pacient :) It didn’t take long and there where no other people.
We handed in a copy of passport, copy of car registration, copy of tourist card. Payed around 55$ fee and 200$ deposit for our 29year old chevy van.
So this went all super well but I think the guy at the immigration office overcharged us … we paid 1400 pesos (cash!!) for two and I just realised later that it should have been less! He said payment by card was not possible… although there was a card mashine. :/

Nice and remote site, but the mosquitos were some of the worst I’ve seen! Also worth noting, there is a 9 mile gravel road with pretty intense washboarding to get there. We made it fine in a 2wd van, but it added quite a bit of drive time.

Looked like a nice spot but I couldn’t find any access roads. Probably best to consider this biker only unless someone can clarify otherwise.

Pulled in here as a snow and windstorm go on outside. They have a selection of hot foods and a subway shop too. Clean bathrooms, plenty of space to park up and take a break.

Great place to sleep! The night before we slept at Walmart but this time a lady told us we needed to be gone by 9.30pm.. so we came here. Lots of RVs, lot of space, calm, we felt super safe. We sleep in a roof tent and weren't bothered at all. It was better than Walmart in my opinion if you don't mind having no WiFi

Still a good place to stay, I could see one "no overnight parking" hidden behind a truck that never moved and that was it. Lots of vans/RVs and trucks staying here. Big quiet carpark, shade around the edges. We stayed two nights to fix some mechanical issues and it was no problem.

We just loved this place !
Small paradise on earth where you can easily stay for few days
Facing the lagoon you also can reach the ocean by 15 minutes walk
This family is lovely and they know how to host
They can cook for you, the food is cheap and amazingly good ! From breakfast to dinner
We advise everybody to go there
The campsite is 400 pppn, they also have rooms, dorm and tents
There is beautiful walk all around

THANK YOU !

After 4 weeks and nearly 4K km of which a great part unpaved, we wanted to have our camper and the pickup part washed and the interior of the pickup only cleaned. They asked 80K CP, non-negotiable. A rip-off! Avoid.

It is a private property and the owner is happy to host travelers. We camped next to the river for one night for free. The Balneario is a nice spot where the locals swim and relax. There is a small shop for drinks and patatas fritas (homemade) and a nice fresh river. It is a beautiful place and the owners family is super nice.

Small store. virtually no produce because Safeway in strip next-door. Walk to back corner of T-Mobile store, and cross bridge over ditch. Safeway is through parking lot past Ace right next to Marshall's.

Wally world lot was decent save for the overly bright lighting.

Very nice camping location maybe 10 minutes from the interstate. Clean bathrooms and showers. It had a lot of campers even in the off season so be sure to reserve a spot early if you’re planning to be here in summer.

Big pull out. Not the greatest for big rigs. We did bottom out pulling in but that’s because we missed the turn off and had to come around from the other way. It comes up very quick and if it’s dark it’s really difficult to see. Maybe it just me and my first time sleeping on the side of the road but all vehicles and big trucks even more so we’re super loud.

A smaller camper van pulled in behind us and we’re able to leave wrote we did just find by going around, but two big rigs in this space wouldn’t work if the person behind wanted to leave sooner.

Called ahead and they said they allowed overnight camping. Its a big lot with Winco and Kohls so you can catch up on shopping if you'd like :) There was a semi and another camper here. It felt safe especially because I parked near the bank. Would come here again.

Nice little quiet spot with some great views. Clean toilets. Little common space to hang out of the rain. It’s not really big rig friendly. Had to park just outside the gate to get a level spot and use some rocks. Might be a challenge if you’re bigger than a pickup camper..
