Quiet place with the camp on the meadows and yes for shade.
A little rundown for EU standards but the pool was working and clean and the toilets are there. Good enough for an overlander but coming short for someone looking for the usual camping comforts.

The lady owner is on her 80s but still there… She looks recovering from a illness so pls check before you come!

nice and quiet place to stay. we have a 30ft skoolie and had no issues driving in or out. a bit of difficulty leveling since most spots have some degree of slant. DEFINITELY COME WITH WATER. there is no water nearby, if it wasn't for a man who saw us struggling and took us to his place to fill up we would have had to leave completely. beautiful area though and the night sky is amazing!!

We spent 1 night there, 24/24h gas station with always someone working.

Very noisy because of the road and the customers but safe enough.

very bright and very busy at all hours. maybe this makes it safe, but for me it made it unsleepable. unless you get one of spots at the very bottom of this hill your going to be sleeping at an angle.

we parked here and walked into to town for a late lunch and when we returned we were told that it's 18k per 12 hours and we would need to pay a total of 36 to stay the night. so we left.

Okay place to stay, the road is close but we weren’t bothered by it. There’s no shade though and the bathrooms might be the most disgusting ones I’ve ever seen.

This is not a free campground. Signs posted you have to pay 15$/unpowered, 25$/powered sites at the local convenience store. Very laid back place. It’s got some trees for shade, the toilets are open. There’s picnic tables and fire pits/BBQs. Enough space for many campers, although it’s more likely you’ll be alone here. Big rig friendly. Very quiet town, horses close by and lots of cute little prairie dogs. Also two farm dogs strolled through, they were friendly.

Just to add to my previous comments. The guys keep the water turned off if their aren't any campers, for obvious reasons, so if there isn't any water just asked them to turn the main tap on at the water reserve

Stewart is an outstanding destination; the locals are extremely friendly and accommodating towards visitors. That said, the visitors center is possibly the worst option for overnight boon-docking. Despite the "No Overnight" signs we obtained tacit approval to stay in this parking lot. Unfortunately, there is way too much traffic. It felt like we were in a fish bowl. There are MUCH better options along the side streets in the semi-industrial areas. Or, better yet, drive across the border to Hyder and stay in the gravel pit or along the road to Salmon Glacier.

Water level decreased during the last weeks. So we felt safe here. Some small spots close to the Liard. Wouldnt recommand for really big rigs or trailer. But we had no problems with our 23ft Class C.

Nous devions passé 1 nuit et ça fait plus d’une semaine que nous sommes là! L’endroit est magique. Ma fille se régale avec les chevaux, nous aidons à la ferme on passe un très bon moment !

Couple of picnic tables in the forest, but mosquitos were very bad nearer the river. There’s a bunch of tent spots as well as paved areas for campers.

Amazing spot. Quiet and flat. Good for lunch break or over night.

Level spot off USFS 613. Small fire ring and near reliable water source. Out of sight of main forest service road. More sites available higher up the mountain but this is a nice secluded and shaded spot.

Large, flattish, shaded site along USFS 613 located in the third switchback. This site is 2.7 miles from the main road (Fairwood Road) and could house 3 small rigs comfortably. The road getting here is rough but doable in 2WD.

This is an amazing, large open mountaintop field at 4637’. The Appalachian Trail, Virginia Highlands Horse Trail, and several other trails cross here. It can be a busy place on summer weekends, especially in early to mid August when wild blueberries are ripe. Expect to see wild ponies grazing the hillsides. There is a bear box available and pit toilets. Fresh piped spring on the road up to the Scales on the left at mile 3.6.

Secluded camp site by trees close to the road. Space for 1 or 2 tents and a car. Direct access to the river. Also, campfire infrastructure ready to use.

Beautiful lake side camping during the week days.

Beautiful Forrest area next to the lake. There are several spots to putt off to. Going Mon-Thursday you will most likely have the spot to yourself. Haven’t gone on a weekend inorder to avoid people. Only noise you may have are the random boats or jet skis passing.

Nice spot quiet spot! Maybe saw half a dozen cars through a full 24 hours at this spot. The mosquitoes were terrible though. I did my best with bug spray and smoke to clear them out, but was still being annoyed by them despite my best efforts.

The views were gorgeous and there was two bars Verizon lte that allowed me to get some work done from here.

As soon as we put our tent up, dogs where barking from up the mountain. A few minutes later a women came down, a bit angry that this place is the drinking place for here dogs and that we better camp on the other side of the road. We did and didn’t have any problems with the dog’s anymore.

Nice place to stay, we sow a Black bear just in the campground! Just be informed that if the campground is full, you can stay in the overflow parking spot for 11$.gets busy quite fast in this period.

Helpful staff, 1000 KES ppn, good Safaricom internet signal. There's a real effort to make a proper camping area with electric plugs, light, water tap under the shaded acacias but toilets and showers are still a bit run down. Bring toilet paper. Good place overall, but no Kilimanjaro for us due to bad weather.

Beautiful campground. Sells ice and wood. No showers.
