Spent the night in the parking lot of the Stewart visitor centre. There's WiFi (password on the door), a pit toilet and a beautiful boardwalk. Had zero problems staying here, some trucks in the night but that was fine for me.

Stewart is an outstanding destination; the locals are extremely friendly and accommodating towards visitors. That said, the visitors center is possibly the worst option for overnight boon-docking. Despite the "No Overnight" signs we obtained tacit approval to stay in this parking lot. Unfortunately, there is way too much traffic. It felt like we were in a fish bowl. There are MUCH better options along the side streets in the semi-industrial areas. Or, better yet, drive across the border to Hyder and stay in the gravel pit or along the road to Salmon Glacier.
We slept one night after not being able to reach the glacier. Our mistake was not to stop here first as they report if the Viewpoint is open or not. Better to get to the end of June if you want to sleep in the glacier Viewpoint. Quiet night. We were alone. Wi-Fi open without a password but did not connect.
