Track to this spot a couple of k's up and over the brow into a big valley not visible to the road, the track continues... a few oryx quiet place.

Exactly as described. Zero Verizon, excellent spot with loud cold creek/river. As close to perfect as any traveler could ask for a simple nights stay. Magical morning on a sunny day, so we stayed a full day and two nights. A couple nice spots for a tent with any larger vehicle. Only took 1 lrg rock to level our truck camper.

Pasamos una noche en la estación. Las personas que trabajan allí son muy amables, hay agua para tanquear, baños y duchas no sabemos. Nosotros los bañamos con la portátil que tenemos. Es un buen lugar para descansar.

Big bonfire space, very large area with lots of available parking. Access to the river. Chemical restrooms available. Easy to find. Not very quiet with the train, highway and boats but OK for 1 night.

very nice spot again! steep gravel road to the beach. think you have to go up in the morning...clean, no noise
except the sea. camping above was still closed. no whales seeing. we will wait for the sunrise tomorrow morning..

We rented a really nice cabana to Paco's son, Mauricio or Mau for 800 a night. Pricey but the cheapest for such a good location. Camping at Paco's is 50 per person.

This is a great park for overlanders! Public use outlets for charging/power, full sized outdoor sink for drinking water, or washing dishes, men and Womens restrooms that are actually well kept! Large grass area, trees, bbqs, covered patio. No entry fee. Large parking lot. Dog friendly. Only downside is it states no overnight parking (there are a couple people who have been parked in the same spot for days and don’t move)

50$ ! Pour une nuit en tente. Ça fait très cher. Mais il n'y avait plus de place ailleurs... Bon camping, propre et calme.

10,000 RWF for 2 people with a rooftop tent at the parking lot. All as described before. Not the best campsite in the world but the closest one if you're doing any activity in the Volcanoes NP (5 minutes away by walk). They also provide free wifi here but it's not the best. Go to the Volcanoes NP headquarters if you really need fast wifi, it's the fastest I've had in Africa in 8 years and totally free.

A Alda é super acolhedora e ajuda bastante os viajantes que passam por lá fornecendo água e energia elétrica quando precisa.

Everything as described, we just want to add that this really is the perfect stop after/ before a border crossing. What a friendly welcome into Nicaragua for us. Julio is the most gracious host. Like others, he also took us into town to get shopping done and took us around the cigar factory in town. We really enjoyed getting to know him whilst sitting on the porch and rocking on one of the many handmade (by him) rocking chairs. We are missing him already. Plenty of space for any size rig and he can even provide shelter from the rain. We are nearly 4m tall and had no problems!

A really beautiful campsite with an incredible garden. You push a fence and are on the lake, walking with zebras and seeing a lot of flamingos.

It costs now 20 USD/pppn. So they doubled the price in May... At least small childs are free. According to the manager you can always find new prizes on their facebook page.

Despite the high prize we liked the camp. They allowed us to go to the hide of the lodge near the waterhole. We never been so close to elephants!

It's open, no problem. Not everyone's idea of a great wildcamp, but if it's your thing, you can stop here.

entrance fee is now 14$. great location will be on 3oclock tour. great tour by Lola, who knew everything also due to her roots in fisherman family

went there at 17pm sunday all occupied. after checking Pr.Rupert 's boondocking possibilities, none suitable, returned 20pm.only 1 car. had a quiet night bit of noise from hw.16

Only 4 kms up the rough road instead of 10. Right on the Goat Rvr. Room for a dozen camps. Good signal.

Stayed here for 2 nights end of may, Lake still mostly frozen, but an amazing place at this time of the year, no bugs.

They asked 15 usd per night to camp in the parking lot with our car. We left and went to parque Santa rosa instead (which was 100c per night).

literally as the name says - forget McDonalds, try YacDonalds! they do happy meals here (with yac meat), fries etc and have decent WiFi.
Plenty of cool stuff around this town too.

This place looked like a good spot at first. I had gotten to the spot around 7pm and there were still a few people there fishing and enjoying the lake. The lot was clear of those initial people by 9pm. Once everyone was gone and it gets dark you can really only real the wildlife around you. There was a constant flow of cars coming to the lot starting around 10pm. Most would pull in, park, and hangout for 30 mins or so before pulling out again. For me, I did not like sleeping in my roof top tent with this much traffic overnight. There was also high winds that night that really shook my tent. Because of these issues, I left the site by 1:30am.

There was plenty of coverage with Verizon and AT&T. No potable water or toilets on this side of the lake, no dumpstation, and no power. Overall, a really pretty sight, but too busy and too windy.

Standard purificadora with super friendly staff - get the impression they're not super used to seeing tourists! Open Monday through Sunday

The guy seems to have got a lot more aggressive about wanting bribes for the stamp. He was unfriendly from the moment I met him on the street outside. He kept inventing fake problems which I answered one by one. Then he demanded a 20 USD bribe to stamp the passport. I refused. We went back and forth about this for about 40 minutes during which he physically threatened me, threw my passport on the floor and waved a dead bat in my face. I stayed calm and did not pay. In the end he stamped the passport.

Documents required were Covid and yellow fever vaccine certificates, copies of passport, DRC visa and Congo-Brazzaville visa
