Jep! Exactly as described. This is the place where your paperwork is prepared. It's like a small copy shop out of a garage. Police is on the opposite side of the street. After the security check, go through the yard to the building. Take the right door of the two and walk to the office at the end of the corridor and wave with your documents. Take the seat offered and enjoy the play :) took us 1,5h in total and cost 500.000 Rial per Person. We asked for 45 days, like our original visa but 30 would be maximum. People friendly.

Our experience here was colored by a freak storm with a tornado in the area (late May). The important thing to know is that it doesn’t take much heavy rain to result in standing water in the field, and there are power lines all around it. In our case, branches started falling on the lines, which were still live, and we had to get out. But assuming your life is normal (as normal as it can be when you’re driving through Central America), you will have a great time here. There is a restaurant on-site with basic food, and the bathrooms there stay open at night. No showers that I know of. There are multiple parking options, but we were there on a busy Sunday (before the storm), so we opted for a corner of the field where we could have some privacy. Everyone on site was very kind, helping us with the damage to our rig and whatever we needed. Caspian loved the swings at the play area.

Nice parking lot for about 10 vehicles infront of post office. Very quiet and no wind, because it is surrounded by walls. Felt super safe. Neighbours were totally fine with us staying for one night. Direct view on the ocean. Little traffic until 9 pm because of mailbox, but no one was bothered. There is a small Coffee Bar next to the Post Office which opens at 7:30 am. Place is getting busy from around that time. No recommandation for bigger RV‘s due to size and attention. Great Place for everyone staying in a car or small camper. Infront of the bar are some tables to sit at, we‘ve done our cooking there after bar had closed. Also a nice shelter in case it rains. You can plug in charger in Post Office (door is open all night).

Informal road, easy to see right off route 12, in forest. Right after Visitor Center if you come from Torey. There were many other vehicles camped as well. No services.

Great stay. Camping is free as you park your vehicle on the turning circle at the end of the road and walk down to the Posada. Very friendly people. you can use bathroom and showers. Food is good and prices low. We hiked to Sangalle and back.

ZIM to BOTS
Not as smooth as expected, in total 1 1/2 hours!
Lot of safari vehicles passing through from/to VicFalls!

ZIM Immigration: a friendly helper w/o uniform takes our passport, and brings it back with the exit stamps.
Immigration is in a white container outside the main building. When I look around the corner, plenty of people milled around the only window, without a visible line. This could be a challenge for entering Zimbabwe!
Customs: No problem to stamp the CdP out!

BOTS:
1. Check off vaccination certificates, but no scanning of the QR code.
2. Foot and mouth disease control: a friendly inspector checked our fridge. He was not happy with our vegetables, but we could keep them!
You need to walk over disinfection mats, and drive the car through a disinfection solution.
3. BOTS immigration: we needed to explain why we wanted to get 90 days, and where we wanted to go. Better to be prepared!
4. CdP: no problem, but stamped on the wrong side!
256 Pula paid by VISA card!

Everything as previously noted... EXCEPT the price is now $10 pp/pn.

We indulged in a 75 minute full body massage for $25 and it was great!

There is potable water in the camper parking area! Showers are still hot... the bathroom/shower is about a 150 foot walk up a steep driveway. Also... wifi does not reach the parking area.

We recommend this place for a relaxing night!

Dorm rooms, private rooms and three cabins in the back garden. Well-equipped kitchen and comfortable lounge. Only a few blocks walk from Main Street. Now owned by Sara and her husband, who managed it before. The warmest welcome in the cold north, a real home-from-home.

$33 a night for an electrical hookup camping spot. You also have to pay $10 a day for a vehicle permit / visitors pass. Kind of expensive but the facilities were worth it. Decent privacy, hot showers, potable water. Staff was incredibly friendly and kind. The park was beautiful and I wish we had more time to explore it. There is a fast-casual pizza restaurant, an ice cream parlour, and a general store not far from any of the campsites.

Bird watcher's paradise! Very peaceful, although there were those few dirt bikers who drive by doing wheelies acting like 10 year olds showing off...but other than that there wasn't much traffic and the dirt road in was in great condition in May '22. More sites if you keep driving around the reservoir and follow the California Trail (maintained dirt road in season) into the mountains. So verdant here! Saw bunnies, prairie dogs(? ground squirrel?), Coyotes, deer, geese, loons, even a bald eagle. No trees for shade or a hammock. No cell service (cricket). Pit toilet, just lake/stream water. Definitely coming back.

Slept here with one other camper and a car. Got to enjoy a great view of the canyon during sunset.
No one woke us up but was VERY windy.
No “no overnight camping/parking” to be seen and the blocks were removed to the side by a sea container and ice cream truck.

Pretty view of an absolutely gushing waterfall from the bridge! A little ways beforehand on the road, before the random toilet, there are some picnic tables beside the river and a calm area to swim. There was only 1 other family here on a Sunday afternoon. The road in was totally fine, well maintained dirt road with some low branches here and there. No fees.

This place offers simple rooms, we arrived at 16:00 and they made a room ready for 70 bol (35 pp). Perfect after a day of biking. It’s the red big boulding alongside the road. (Left side If you come from aquille). The bathroom was moderate, go in the one which is on the groundfloor, this one has a better pressure level!

Travelling north by bicycle. Nice place to stop and pitch the tent in between empty windswept landscape of Patagonia in winter. Was able to take a shower, free. Wifi available, cellular service available. Small shop. Able to recharge power bank. Refill multi fuel stove. Pitched my tent out back near lodgings, out of the wind with some privacy. Grassy area behind but full of dog shit. Be wary of semi ferrel cats roaming around the bins behind kitchen.
