Description

****CAUTION BIG RIGS****
Rounye in is steep, the road is washed out, ruts vary from 10-20” deep at times. You will want to avoid this road if you are over 35’ AND don’t have clearance. We made it in a 40 foot long School Bus. But wouldn’t recommend a regular RV at this size.

Beautiful dry camping spot next to a waterfall! This is a peaceful oasis in the jungle. We fell asleep listening to incredible sounds of nature and were woken up to dogs barking, cows mooing, and roosters crowing. There's a nice hut and covered area to enjoy the beautiful views but camping area is pretty un level, but it is boon docking after all. There is 0 cell reception so prepare to unplug. $60 pesos per person per night.

great spot, tons of space, bucket toilet/shower. no signal. 100pesos/pers
lots of wood for a fire
perfect spot for hammocks!

The place was nice, but they raised the price. Now it’s 100 pesos per person for the night. Pit toilets, no paper, not the cleanest. We slept in the tent and had a swim in the river in the morning which was nice. Birds are pretty loud during the night but other than that it was quiet.

The road down to the river seems to be graded. It is definitely doable with 2WD, even with a bigger Ducato or something like that. I was there on a Tuesday and the place was full of locals. The price is still 60$ per night per person and you pay the pesos to the kids. The river is really nice, the toilets not.

fantastic spot to camp, road must have been graded because we had no issues driving to the campsite. the waterfall was beautiful and only a 2 min walk away. it cost 60 pesos p.p. and was paid to young kids as you enter to campsite. toilets aren't great but what to do. there are flat areas, however next to the river they are not flat. plenty of room for multiple vans. Great little spot

CAUTION! If you are not a high clearance rig (for rigs over 12 meters) this may not be the spot for you. I’m in a 40foot skoolie (see pics) we made it but the road was badly washed out. Ruts about 13 inches deep some you can’t avoid if you are long.

Now past that negative.

This spot was amazing! On a mid December evening we went for a swim in cooling waters right by beautiful waterfalls. The camping spot we chose was in the large open area (for our solar) however there’s lots of covered room to chose from. If you are long good luck getting level but worth it for a night. 4 of us charged 120p total. Would have paid double to be honest.

We can’t recommend this place. The road is in extremely bad conditions and we barely made in with our Fiat Ducato, was no fun at all. Then we couldn’t even reach the ,official camping area‘ because the road was too bad and washed out. So we left again and were just happy that our van made it back to the highway. Better go to the Hotel Las Hojitas instead if you just want to rest. We pay 250 pesos to camp on their carpark.

the water was dirty after the rain and i was really looking forward to swimming. well, next time

nice place to camp, facilities (toilets) are simple but it's a nice place to spend the night. the cascadas nearby are good for a swim. road is a little rough to get here but should be do-able with most cars

Place is wonderful, directly on a river, you can camp there in total peace, you have toilets and you can refresh in the river, is not that deep, so really good also for kids👍
The only little bit annoying thing, at the Weekend comes a lot, lot of religious people, they give there speeches and celebrate, these people dont take care of your private space and step threw your camp, even when you are hanging out there, also makes a lot of garbage. But the rest is super good and really cheap and secure.

Great little spot. Arrived just before sunset and paid $120 mx for two people and a truck. Parked next to the river and it was a very peaceful evening! There was some mud near the river but nothing too crazy. Surprisingly no mosquitos but lots of other little bugs and spiders. Felt very safe. The family who runs the campground lives on site.

Nice quiet place to spend the night near Acayucan. Parked down by the river. No service but good to disconnect every once in a while ;) restroom are clean just bring your own TP. Was charged 120 pesos to park down here. Felt very safe. Took a walk to the nearby waterfall, very nice and clean area. Woke up to cows mooing, chickens singing and birds chirping. Very relaxing.

the water is pretty nice&fresh, we could make some fire and had a good quite night:) somebody came straight after we pulled over and asked first for 30peso p.o. (4people 2camper) but than doupled the price when we said we stay over night. ended up paying around 200. enjoy this nice spot

Beautiful spot off the beaten path. The road to get here is a bit bumpy, but we managed in a front wheel drive 1986 RAM. We paid a bit more than what’s been paid before but was worth every penny. 2 nights for 2 people for 180pesos which isn’t bad at all. Very relaxing spot, water felt great this time of the year. Waterfalls were very cute too. Toilets are very basic, but we managed! Our dog also enjoyed the place, he could run free and have fun. No TELCEL reception so it’s really offgrid. Overall felt safe and would recommend this place!

Stayed here on a Sunday afternoon and over night. No one else was here. The water was very muddy and brown due to it being rainy season. It was 120 pesos for us to camp overnight. Bathrooms, clean, no tp, Bucket flush. They told us it was secure, although when we left early in the morning the gate wasn’t locked

Report Check-In

In rainy season water gets brown but no one there so quiet. entrance 20p/person plus camping 20p/person

really nice and quiet place for a night. when we were there there was almost nobody so there were no Kiosks either. we arrived quite late and paid in the morning. the river looked nice for taking a swim. its about 16km from the Highway but Acayucan is close with gasstation and shops and supermarkets.

A nice place to refresh in the river only 2 km from mex 180. Large access to the water and falls which makes it feel not crowded even during semana santa. Several food kiosks at that time. Nice palapas and many trees for shade. Tyroliennes and places to jump. Entrance 20 p/adult and the owner let us camp for free along the river. No telcel reception.
