Something not right?

Description

Big parking lot, very quiet. It’s half paved and half gravel. There is a boat ramp and a cute little pond/lake. Some people did pull up and then leave almost immediately. I have the feeling this may be a spot where local people come for privacy.

Beau site calme et asphalté, chemin pour s'y rendre sur le gravier.

bel endroit au bord du lac. une petite descente en béton pour arriver au spot bien plat. il y a une descente à bateau/ kayak.
très calme.

Report Check-In

Very nice spot. Quiet, a few hunters/fishers show up early, but zero noise. We stayed at an upper lot for more privacy, as lower lot seems to get more traffic. West side definitely quieter than East side of lake

Report Check-In

Nice level spot on the concrete pad. There was a ton of spent fireworks and trash left behind from someone's 4th of July party, I went and picked it all up and filled 3/4 of a contractor trash bag. Cleaner now. Enjoy

light traffic friendly people fishing
small boat ramp and pier
larger ramp and pier across the lake
some dead fish smell and ticks

Report Check-In

Lots of good little parking areas. The only facility is a pit toilet by one of the boat launches. I arrived shortly after sunset, and the day crowd was beginning to leave.

Report Check-In

Great spot. Used the roof top tent and got great sleep.

Report Check-In

Very nice spot, but people seem to drive out and park right on the boat ramp for about 5 minutes and then leave. They may have come for some privacy and realized there’s a big white cargo van here and left though. Otherwise, so nice and quiet and beautiful, even in December!

Seems pretty clear and quiet. A couple other cars parked but no one around when I arrived. This side is really just a boat launch. The other side looks more camper friendly and with more space to choose your spot.

Got here around 9:45/10 PM, no one was around and it was nice and quiet. I also drove to the other side to check it out, I’d recommend this side since there’s more privacy. When I woke up around 7 AM, there was one car parked next to me and a truck was backing in his boat. For an quick overnight spot, I’d highly recommend!

This place looked like a good spot at first. I had gotten to the spot around 7pm and there were still a few people there fishing and enjoying the lake. The lot was clear of those initial people by 9pm. Once everyone was gone and it gets dark you can really only real the wildlife around you. There was a constant flow of cars coming to the lot starting around 10pm. Most would pull in, park, and hangout for 30 mins or so before pulling out again. For me, I did not like sleeping in my roof top tent with this much traffic overnight. There was also high winds that night that really shook my tent. Because of these issues, I left the site by 1:30am.

There was plenty of coverage with Verizon and AT&T. No potable water or toilets on this side of the lake, no dumpstation, and no power. Overall, a really pretty sight, but too busy and too windy.

much as deacribed by previous entries. the location mark takes you to the west side of the reservoir and is a good spot to stay. Looking across to the east there is another access point and a vault toilet. Spring waterfowl migration was in full swing. Amazing amount of ducks and geese flying around. I recommend this spot.

Driving east on i-80 we exited and drove 15-20 min to get here arriving after dark on Friday. We were the only ones here and just overnighted. Calm morning fog on the lake. No one showed to the ramp the next morning. Quiet, we picked up just a little trash we found. Good verizon cell signal. Beautiful farm and silo scenery driving out in the morning, too.

Report Check-In

Great spot. Arrived super late and left by 9am, didn’t see a soul. Dirt roads leading up to the area and definitely quite rural.

There’s actually two lots, the big gravel one previous check-ins have mentioned by the lake and a smaller lot up the road. We stayed at the upper lot, the lower lot was too buggy when we visited.

Website says “no camping” in the park but we didn’t see any signs. Only sign says “no shooting” and there were empty 12ga shells beneath it.

Basically a fishing spot, fine for a place to crash for the night.

Report Check-In

Arrived here around sunset on a Tuesday night, there was one other vehicle which pulled a boat out of the water shortly after we arrived, other than that we had the entire place to ourselves all night and the next morning. Beautiful view, very quiet, exactly the type of free Boondocking place you would want out of the way! Highly recommended

I went to scope this spot out for future camp trips. While I think you COULD camp there, I would really only do so if I had no other choice. The parking lot was crowded with folks fishing, and there was glass and trash all over. The worst thing though was it seems that the DNR or the city have just cut down and burned most all the trees surrounding this spot! It is an out of the way spot, but not what I would consider a destination.

Coming from the West, I really appreciated this spot. A nice dock on the lake, super quiet, wasn't dirty when I was there, and it had some cell signal. A great stop while passing through.

Big parking lot, very quiet but not very clean, near the water
