BLM dispersed parking / camping on road to wilderness area. A few miles off I-10. Good road - the last couple, dirt ok for 2nd. Beautiful spot, quiet except the Border Patrol helicopters. Saw nobody. Good place to get off highway and spend the night or go a little further in (4wd required) and hike in the Wilderness area. No services. Pick up your trash and bury your poop

No more cash or credit card machine. You've to pay via Internet and need to provide first an American phone number. If you don't have, pass your way.

We planned to park in the parking lot for one night but ended up for two.
We paid R150 per day, corkage fee (for 2 people and car).
We had the use of the bathroom in one of the rooms but used our own toiletries and towels.
People are friendly and we met the manager Stella.
We ate dinner and breakfast. Good value for money. Tasty and decent portions and prices. Between R80-R120 for dinner. R35 for starters, R35 for dessert. R20 per glass of red wine but it's more then a normal size wine glass.
We even had the use of the wifi. Had a great stay.

Access road to camping spot is next to eco/organic farm of which there parking is 20 m after entering the unpaved road. The camping spot is about 100 m further. Calm place, apart from some airplanes flying over at night.

Adding pictures now that it’s morning. Also now that it’s day I see a small national wildlife refuge sign near the road that says “unauthorized entry prohibited.” There are also two ATV trails leaving the lot. I think maybe just posting up in the lot doesn’t count as “entry?” Or maybe I just got lucky. No one bothered us. Grey area?

Must stop here!!! It’s gorgeous with a lot of space and super quiet, there was another rig that pulled in after me. So quiet! So Pretty!! Go out of the way and stop here!!!

Beautiful park with plenty of shaded campsites. There is no dump at each site but plenty of 50/30a electric and water on each site.

"We are no longer open to the public" They can only let their monthly guests use the facilities.

We got 40l of Diesel filled directly into the car for 6 Bolivianos the liter. Very nice guy, helped us to figure out our route.

The tour is only done by bus with one stop to take pictures of the floodgates.
But it is a huge area with two dams and they explain a lot, but for us the spanish was too fast to understand everything. The tour was okay, free and took 1,5 hours. Take your passport with you, because you have to register before you can get on a bus. They open at 7 a.m. and the first tour starts at 8 a.m. and than every hour (but maybe because of easter holidays).
We asked the Security and they allowed us to stay overnight in the parking lot. They have photographed our passports and listed our license plate.

*NOT dog friendly!!!! I think it’s because they are worried the dogs could spook the horses? We didn’t know this before coming so had to sneak in our pup anyway and thankfully had the whole campground to ourselves so it wasn’t a problem ;) other than that, this place was amazing! Tons of wide open space, clean bathrooms and showers and you just reserve online! Firewood by donation, horses welcome. Really beautiful campground!!!

They are open. Shower is 45 pesos. Water was hot and water pressure was very good. It was clean enough.

Water is available at dump station across the road from Juniper Campground and in the campground itself across from site 25.

If you like being right beside a main road, power lines and amongst a bunch of trash, this is your place! (On a more serious note, this would be just fine for a night if you are passing through and are in a vehicle). We went and checked out the other side of the road and found a better place there. We made a new checkin for that spot.

Plenty of shade trees in a few camping spots with picnic tables available and sunny parking areas for solar panels. There are restrooms available with sinks providing limited water for small containers. Overnight tent campers during my three night stay were homeless men. The Grandbury Lake scenery is nice with a boat ramp in the park and a small marina close by. Many businesses are within three miles to suit many needs. I made use of the wi-fi at McDonalds just north of the location to upload videos at 12mbs for my YouTube channel and the store is open 24/7. City and county patrols cruise by several times a day with no inquiries. A Spring thunderstorm did damage some trees but crews cleaned them up the next day.

Great parking for the night! Anywhere on the street by the park seems good to go. Definitely keep it stealthy and don't ruin this one!
