Very nice spot for camping next to antenna with gorgeous view on the reservoir. Suited for bicycle, there is also an access for 4 wheel drive. The entrance is through a gate and open fence. One friendly horseman came to greet us and talk for a minute then left.

this is a massive parking area consisting of a cracker barrel , Lowe's home improvement and planet fitness help yourself never had a problem.

This is the place which belongs to the same owners Kulu and Benjamin as the Bagamoyo Restaurant and Campsite in town. However, this place is dedicated for overlanders with vehicles / rooftoptents as the campsite in town does not have sufficient space. This place newly opended and is almost finished. Lovely and quiet, directly located at the lake with its own beach and little bay. Wonderfully decorated by Kulu and Ben, very nice communal area, clean ablutions with donkey boiler, open kitchen with charcoal provided. Two kanus available to explore the area, as well as snorkling equipment (included in the price). They can organize snorkling trips to a nearby island with a local fishermen, as well as a hiking tour and safaris in the Ruahu NP. Kulu and Ben are very welcoming hosts and Kulu is a great chef, try the food! Food can also be ordered to the campsite. They can organize transports to town / their restaurant. They even help you with bus and ferry tickets and drop you at bus station / harbor. During the time we stayed we were allowed to use their ATV to get to town. They both lived in Mozambique and can give you some information if you travel south. Place is big rig friendly but the track to it might be tricky due to low hanging branches and narrow road. Stayed here last night with two vans, and it was beautiful and secluded. Lots of bugs this time of year. This morning around 10:15am the Marina (marines / coast guard?) showed up with their guns. Three of them surrounded the vans while one of them walked around. My wife asked if everything was ok and they said yes. Looked out the photo copies of our passports and went away. Weird and stressful for no reason (apparent to us at least)

Gated camping with friendly host and many people monitoring driving and walking gates, feels safe. 38.50 R per person and per motorhome for non-members this time of year. No Wi-Fi, vivo cell coverage surprisingly poor, no kitchen, bathrooms older but functional and LOTS of cats will want to camp with you. There is a warm water tank for one shower at the facilities near the gates. Many long term or permanent setups. Seems like lots of people live there full time. Bike path in front along the beach is nice and goes for many kilometers. Amazing beaches and hiking nearby.

Wide open natural beach with trees and small dunes. Cars and a bus pass by to drive on the sand, seems to be an established road. We asked a local family if we could wild camp on the beach, they said if you don’t leave garbage or make loud noise, no one will complain. It is off-season. Busy season may be different. Short walk on beach to public area has bathrooms and outdoor showers. Beautiful spot!!

the campsite is still under construction, but we are allowed to camp here. Michael opened the gate for us and said we could camp for free , a donation would be appreciated. the place is spacious and clean, immediately they raked the space we had chosen and the donkey was lit. even though the bathroom is not entirely finished, the toilet and shower is working and neat. we are staying 2 days and had a walk to the baobab. our dog was also allowed in.

Communal showers are clean and free, water is mildly warm. Lockers to put your stuff in for 25¢.

300 ARS for a Fiat Ducato. We were asked for fruit, but bananas and apples are no problem.

The road is now nearly completely paved again. As a motorbike you don't have to wait at all and can drive past the oncomig traffic no problem

Lots of RVs vans and car campers. Definitely hear the road noise, but the parking lot is large enough to spread out.

Great spot overlooking the reservoir. Pulled in to one of the pull offs and had no issues.

Large sand pit, looks like dried up lake or water reservoir. Stayed for 4 nights, great spot for off leash dog exercise, over the weekend lots of local kids are going nuts on their quads and dirt bikes. Highly recommended outside of weekends.

Meh, It’s ok for one night. Saw a coyote within being there for 10 minutes around 4pm, lots of red ants and tons of flies! (Don’t leave your doors open even a minute.)

A trucker came around sunset to nap, left at 9pm. Overall felt safe and I’m a solo female. You’re not at all hidden from the highway tho.

Sunrise was stunning!

No access to the beach bummed me out.

Informal sites between Big Tree Trailhead and Lost Lake Campground; right side of the road. Several informal sites along the road to Lost Lake. Clean bathroom at Big Tree Trailhead.
Lost Lake Campground also looked like a nice USFS campground $12/ night, but we opted for a free site.

En Federación dicen que no permiten Motorhomes, en algunos sitios (termas) hay cartel, pero no así en el resto de la ciudad. En esta YPF pedimos permiso y nos permitieron, hay WIFI Y BAÑOS 24 horas.

Outdoor store with everything you need. I asked where I could fill some Jerry cans and he told me there is a hose on the side of the building I can use. Very friendly and helpful staff.

As said still very much possible to overnight here just avoid the beach because it is forbidden to drive on it. The marker is right behind a big sign that states the above (you literally can't miss it).

We parked further south at the palapas and had a quiet night. Police came by at about 9pm and said nothing to us. The water is very swimmable with only a little surge. A hidden bonus for us was the bioluminescence in the water at night! Try stirring the water after sundown to check it out.

Spot nearby the lake, the last 50m a little bit downhill, but doable. The beach is sandy and flat, the water clear and calm. Fireplace and rustic toilet available. There is enough space for 2-3 RVs. Feels like paradise. Quite and away from the village, great for more than one night.

“No servicio”

Although situated at a pretty site and with a big billboard and open gate, they don’t welcome guests at the moment. It’s also a very bizarre and awkward vibe - The animals don’t look healthy at all and the place is currently not taken good care off.

We went to one of the mirador sites, which was great!

Lovely campsite, excellent owner very helpful, toilettes and showers old but very clean, one electric point for the van, we were here off season, so we were the only ones in the campsite, hot shower was great, lovely fishing village, when the fishing boats come back , sea lion is comes up near the pier and fishermen throw some fish to him, wonderful long walks over the beaches and cliffs, good views from the light house. We really enjoyed our stay here

as addition to the above we paid 10.000 CLP for 2 people and the van, per night.

Now it says 5$ or 25$ for the season. And it is not useable for a European camper. You need a standard north American one with pipes.

Just a heads up - two soldier in full armour woke us up at 4am.
Just a regual check I guess and they left once they realized we're just tourists camping here.

Lot of space, quiet, even if close the road, many hikers. We had a very good night.

$5 cash fee with America the Beautiful Pass. Campsites were plentiful, clean, quite, great views. Pit toilets were exceptionally clean.

Stayed a few nights here while exploring Cuyahoga Valley National Park. I had trouble getting to it at first, my navigation kept taking me to a back entry to the lot. There was parking there, but it’s fenced off so cars can’t get into the plaza from there. I realized that it’s because I have my navigation set to avoid toll roads and I-80 is a toll road. I paid the toll the first night to get in. It was a fairly peaceful night, some of the trucks rolling through were a little loud. The showers and coin laundry are located in the “Trucker Lounge” which anyone can just walk into without issue. There is even a vending machine in the laundry room with detergents, shampoo, and soap if you need them.
I noticed the area my navigation originally tried taking me to had a gate that can be walked through (not big enough for a car) so the second and third nights I stayed I parked over there to avoid the toll. This lot seems to be used by the staff that work in the plaza, but no one said anything about me staying there. This lot is probably not do-able if you’re in anything bigger than a van or small RV though.

Private RV-Park with lot of places directly at the port. Full hookups or dry camping possible. Clean restrooms, hot showers and dump. All places with fire pits. Bit pricey 65$ for dry camping. Staff very friendly and helpful.
