Small picnic area in the tiny town of Felt, OK. Large flat area to park, pit toilet, picnic tables, fire pit, horseshoe pits, trash bins. Very little cell service. One day stay limit.

Camping card camping. Although they are supposed to open on May 1st, on May 22nd they were still closed. Talked to the lady ofvteh site and because we didn't need a toilet, we were allowed to stay for the night. Nice big campground with different sections. We liked the section in the former quarry.

Typical rest area welcome center. Allegedly overnighting is allowed here as I was told by a police officer to head here after being told to move in OBX.

Place was beautiful! We had it to ourselves, a few locals drove by and waved at us. We were able to fit our Jeep Cherokee rooftop tent there no problem. I’m sure there are lots of hideaways out there. We arrived when the flowers were coating the earth, truly beautiful. Sunset and sunrise were gorgeous, wonderful recommendation!

ATT struggles, 1-3 bars off and on.

We cleaned up some of the litter there, but we didn’t get it all. Please pitch in when you stay, to keep it beautiful!!

Got a corner in the nearly full self parking parking garage, didn't have any trouble overnight in a Prius with no privacy set up. Walked right into the Circus Circus pool area across the street and had a free shower too!

We stayed the night here. I don’t think it’s private property. It’s a pullout on Malibu Carbon Canyon Rd. The left side of the road has gated driveways to homes. The right side of the road (the side with the pullout) is just a Canyon drop off.

Obviously be respectful and low key as there are people’s homes in the hills on the left side of the road.

We stayed one night and had no issues. Nice and quiet.

Pedimos para usar a tomada e o pessoal foi super atencioso, puxamos uma extensão do banheiro, depois abastecemos como forma de agradecimento.

Whoaaa, what a fantastic road! It reminded us a lot of the Yungas Road in Bolivia on the most tricky parts, although the drops are probably a bit less dramatic.

The road is open both ways, since they finished the construction works on the regulas PanAmerican road going up. It definitely requires patience and going back and forward with ongoing traffic at times, but isn’t that the charm / challenge of the experience?

Just makes sure that the weather is relatively okay and if the road is not blocked, because big landslides do occur often and rain + visibility can be properly dangerous.

We stayed here for 1 night and were all alone. The surrounding nature is absolutely stunning and the site offers clean toilet and (cold) shower facilities. The hosts said WiFi was not available and we couldn’t get any phone signal, but it was fine for us one night.

Same as described. You have to continue a little further than google shows the POI. Find the spur dirt road and drive 50 yards. It a large flat clearing. With one steel pole painted yellow on the side of the space. A couple of large vehicles will fit. Not signed. Locked gate 25 yards onward.

incredibly kind! This spot is very family friendly. The two children, Lucas and Benjamin, are very well behaved, curious. If you have children this is a wonderful spot. They have a lot of dogs. All of them are very friendly and playful too. The family that runs this camping/restaurant are also incredibly kind! We were originally going to stay for only one night, but stayed for three.

Nos quedamos solo 1 noche.

El parking era grande, al costado de un mcdonalds.

Nadie nos molesto, no habian otros viajeros cuando nos quedamos.

Si tenían espacio para RV.

Habian varios tachos de basura.

Ernesto Flores serviced my Defender with a 300Tdi engine. He also did a cambelt change for me. I was very happy with the workmanship, he clearly knows these vehicles. He works alone so best to phone beforehand. Cel no 0987932070.

Spot for 2-3 vehicles. *May* be a day use only picnic spot, but right by river which helps drown out the cars by the road next to you. And you can have breakfast there in am. Better than straight side of road camping I think- bring eye shades for the bright light of the cars driving by

This is a small paved parking area for the regional bicycle trail. About a dozen standard parking spaces, probably suitable for up to about a 23-24 foot motorhome but no larger. Pretty quiet, just a bit of road noise in the distance. No signs prohibiting overnight parking, and no one bothered us when we stayed overnight in a 21" van. No one else was there overnight, but there's a fair amount of usage during the day. Good Verizon reception.

Very nice spot for camping next to antenna with gorgeous view on the reservoir. Suited for bicycle, there is also an access for 4 wheel drive. The entrance is through a gate and open fence. One friendly horseman came to greet us and talk for a minute then left.

This is the place which belongs to the same owners Kulu and Benjamin as the Bagamoyo Restaurant and Campsite in town. However, this place is dedicated for overlanders with vehicles / rooftoptents as the campsite in town does not have sufficient space. This place newly opended and is almost finished. Lovely and quiet, directly located at the lake with its own beach and little bay. Wonderfully decorated by Kulu and Ben, very nice communal area, clean ablutions with donkey boiler, open kitchen with charcoal provided. Two kanus available to explore the area, as well as snorkling equipment (included in the price). They can organize snorkling trips to a nearby island with a local fishermen, as well as a hiking tour and safaris in the Ruahu NP. Kulu and Ben are very welcoming hosts and Kulu is a great chef, try the food! Food can also be ordered to the campsite. They can organize transports to town / their restaurant. They even help you with bus and ferry tickets and drop you at bus station / harbor. During the time we stayed we were allowed to use their ATV to get to town. They both lived in Mozambique and can give you some information if you travel south. Place is big rig friendly but the track to it might be tricky due to low hanging branches and narrow road. Overall an amazing spot. 10 USD pppn, worth the price. No wifi, H+ with airtel, electricity available. Tel of Kulu +255 712 058 238.

Stayed here last night with two vans, and it was beautiful and secluded. Lots of bugs this time of year. This morning around 10:15am the Marina (marines / coast guard?) showed up with their guns. Three of them surrounded the vans while one of them walked around. My wife asked if everything was ok and they said yes. Looked out the photo copies of our passports and went away. Weird and stressful for no reason (apparent to us at least)

Gated camping with friendly host and many people monitoring driving and walking gates, feels safe. 38.50 R per person and per motorhome for non-members this time of year. No Wi-Fi, vivo cell coverage surprisingly poor, no kitchen, bathrooms older but functional and LOTS of cats will want to camp with you. There is a warm water tank for one shower at the facilities near the gates. Many long term or permanent setups. Seems like lots of people live there full time. Bike path in front along the beach is nice and goes for many kilometers. Amazing beaches and hiking nearby.

Wide open natural beach with trees and small dunes. Cars and a bus pass by to drive on the sand, seems to be an established road. We asked a local family if we could wild camp on the beach, they said if you don’t leave garbage or make loud noise, no one will complain. It is off-season. Busy season may be different. Short walk on beach to public area has bathrooms and outdoor showers. Beautiful spot!!

the campsite is still under construction, but we are allowed to camp here. Michael opened the gate for us and said we could camp for free , a donation would be appreciated. the place is spacious and clean, immediately they raked the space we had chosen and the donkey was lit. even though the bathroom is not entirely finished, the toilet and shower is working and neat. we are staying 2 days and had a walk to the baobab. our dog was also allowed in.
