Nice and flat place to camp at the end of the road (and start of the trail). Free, no services. The road here is unpaved, but not very rough (may be after heavy rains).
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Super beautiful tropical spot to stay with vans/rigs/motorhomes/cars. Think 4 or more should fit. Few cars came by to drop off or collect hikers
Amenities as banos and water are at the administration building, 1 km up the road.
Underground is hard and flat, but slightly sloped, so perfect leveling difficult.
Water is 50m up the road from a pipe in the hill.
We spend here 1 night, ranger very friendly! No soldiers or so. Calm safe night
Report Check-InJust a heads up - two soldier in full armour woke us up at 4am.
Just a regual check I guess and they left once they realized we're just tourists camping here.
Camped here in our rig. Nobody bothered us. A bus brought school kids into the park around 8am.
Report Check-InWe spent 2 fantastic nights here in our camper in the parking lot. One of the most memorous wild camps we have had. This park is wel worth a visit for nature lovers.
Report Check-InThe road is very well maintained, can be driven with all kind of cars, no problems to drive with a big rig. Just one place is narrow, during only maybe 1,5 meters, but we could easily pass with our truckcamper (2,52 m wide). Beside this one place, the road is wide enough for cars to cross each other. In case there would be two big vehicles, there are enough passing places. Everywhere on this road are places where you could turn around, just in case. At the end of the road, there is enough place to park for at least 10 cars. Longer vehicles do fit also, the road is very wide here.
Report Check-InNice place. Policemen said it’s safe. Spent a quiet night there with no one around.
Report Check-InHermoso y tranquilo lugar. Es bastante pequeño. Se pueden ver 2 cascadas.
Report Check-Inother sise of Podocarpus Park. Jungle and rainforest environment. Nice Hike possibility.
free.
The parking is at the end of the road. Very quiet but difficult to level. Other cars were parked and the only flat area is by the entrance of the path. At this time the road is not fit for very large rigs since there is a landslide I think only for small vehicles. Otherwise fine with 2wd. Quiet night.
Report Check-InBeautiful, really small parking, easily to get there beside the river and now one around. I like!!
Report Check-InQuiet night with sounds of the river. We are 4.4 tons and felt ok with the road as it is now, a couple narrow spots but felt firm (a bus passed us on our way in). Sign says 30 min to the facilities, which is about how long it took us. Pretty waterfalls where you can swim an additional 10-30 minutes past the facilities (two options). Not many orchids blooming when we were here.
Report Check-InSome meters behind the hut there is a mountain water. We recommend to walk slow 15min up hill to the official camping, very nice and with full facilities for free and totally SAFE!
Report Check-InGreat spot for quiet night although road in has suffered several land slips recently. Our vehicle weights 3 ton and because of soft edges on track I felt we were taking a bit of a risk mainly because it was raining at the time and the road surface in the slip area was very sandy and water logged. Its a long way down to the river!!

Parking at entry of park, great river view, no facilities. According to passing ranger good place to camp and safe.
As described by others, just head into Zamora, go through roundabout and onto this semi paved road. it's rainy season now, the road is only slightly washed out in places, but was no problem in our heavy two wheel drive kombi. Park guards were friendly, and would recommend camping here, just be prepared for lots of mosquitoes.
Report Check-InFree, semi flat parking. Taxi dropped off some tourists walking in 20 minutes to camp in the park. And a motocycle ranger entered for we suspected the night shift, and left early the next morning. Along the road before you get to the end, there are other parking spaces, more private, but was trashed with bottles and plastic. This was just after a holiday. Great park and you can hike for free to the river approx 20 mins for bathing!
