Something not right?

Description

Ruins of what used to be houses, probably destroyed by the hurricane. Nice views, a little bit windy, but very quiet...had a great night! Easy road access! (perfect after all the detours coming from the north).

For tent campers: there are traces of a fire pit inside one of the "houses", you can put your tent inside to be protected from the wind.

Lets keep it clean as it is now!

We stayed here on the way back to US for one night. Quiet and safe!

Report Check-In

Great spot- didn’t stay overnight. Tons of crumble concrete throughout most of the homes. There’s also tons of metal bars sticking up along the edges of them as well. About 2 of them you could safely pull into without any obstacles. When pulling up there is quite a big lip so put some rocks down to assist. Road getting in is a little bumpy but not too bad. View is beautiful. No one else here. Tons of little creatures- super long tan lizards that blend in with rocks and are kinda creepy lol. Fire pits set up all around and shells left everywhere by previous folks. I didn’t see an easy way to get down to beach but i’m sure it’s around somewhere. Have fun and enjoy!

The desert is in bloom and it's gorgeous! There is sometimes a sharp smell but I think it's the desert sage doing it's potent thing. Had fun wandering the ruins and seeing what seashells others had left behind...each house engages the imagination about living here. Wonderful sunsets and sunrises! Can get quite gusty!

The beach is definitely accessible, it's the gully far to the left as you look out to sea, then go down the right edge when you're almost to beach level. Once you're on the beach, you can see another rocky staircase going up where the wrecked fishing boat is.

There's been a mud/landslide recently onto the beach. At the far end of the beach is something I found interesting ... worth a walk all the way down to discover it for yourself!

There are small black flies which are just annoying, and tiny greyish flies which seem to bite. Lots of ant activity too, but no problems with them. Haven't heard or seen any coyote.

Report Check-In

We spent a few nights here. There are plenty of sites even if other folks are camping. The walls of the buildings help for privacy. Fantastic ocean views. Saw dolphins and major bird life cruising the cliffs, flying just above us.

The highway noise wasn't noticeable during the day but at night the occasionally very loud truck (J-braking) passes by and might wake you up.

2WD accessible. Would definitely camp here again and hike more peaks to the west.

Report Check-In

One other traveler here besides us. There's a good amount of room. Heard the coyotes call several times around night fall no sightings, though. Beach acces requires going down a gully but the hill side is very crumbly and loose so watch your footing and hand holds but it's doable. We went down towards the north end where a gully stair-steps down.

Beau, tranquille, on entend un peu l’autoroute. Propre malgré les débris d’ouragan. Vue magnifique.

very good place ! it was safe and very nice with lots of place

Easy to find and get to the camping area. I’m set up my Westfalia in the middle ruins. Very nice stone patio and rustic garden. So curious at to what happened to this place. Feels kind of weird as it seems like it could still be someone’s place they are working on. Very beautiful and unique.

Report Check-In

We stayed here for a few nights and had the place to ourselves. The flies were numerous and a coyote did walk through camp in the middle of the day on day 2 - definitely be cautious if you have pups. Other than the flies and coyote sighting, the views are great, it was quiet at night and there is access down to the beach.

Some trash, like most free beaches in Baja unfortunately. We packed out some, but would be great if other campers also contributed to packing out a bag too.

Report Check-In

Access to the beach is a bit rocky, but doable. The flies are terrible and it was very windy. Otherwise, a great, quite spot. We tucked our rig in behind one of the ruins - on the patio. Was perfectly fine for over

Report Check-In

Meh, It’s ok for one night. Saw a coyote within being there for 10 minutes around 4pm, lots of red ants and tons of flies! (Don’t leave your doors open even a minute.)

A trucker came around sunset to nap, left at 9pm. Overall felt safe and I’m a solo female. You’re not at all hidden from the highway tho.

Sunrise was stunning!

No access to the beach bummed me out.

Coin tranquille surplombant la plage. En se garant du côté de la colline de pierres ( côté gauche de la plage et des maisons en ruines), vous aurez un accès à peu près praticable à la mer. A la nuit tombée, nous avons entendu des coyotes.

very nice place for us. no one around only ruins of several houses.

Report Check-In

Enchanting spot; incredible sunsets and sunrises. A photographer’s dream with the landscape and ruined houses. Very quiet for being close to the road. Lots of different spots to park and good walking on the beach and hills. Ocean is pretty cold for swimming this time of year!

Report Check-In

As described by everyone else - absoltely epic spot!! Thus far the wind has been dead calm, so lucky!

Update:: day 2 here & the wind just HAMMERED all day long and night, 6am - 7pm and still unbearable, van feels like we’re floating out at sea…

Starlink doing 60-80mbps here, all is good!

¡Me gusta aquí! Gorgeous sunrises and sunsets, a full moon, and very quiet. We stayed 3 days with our own private patio and are sad to leave!

Report Check-In

This is a great place to camp right by the ocean. There are a half dozen fire pits and other evidence of frequent boondocking. The road in is a bit rocky but no problem at all. If you hike past the hill on the north side you can go down to another part of the rocky beach. We spent two nights here with zero issues. One other camper and that was it.

Report Check-In

Took the shortest, most direct road to the abandoned houses. We parked at the one furthest north. Nice beach but a lot of cockroaches; they didn't bother us, though. We were the only ones there and had a nice time even with high winds and lots of flies. The flies died down after sunset. No cell signal. Free!

Report Check-In

Quiet, a little exposed but seems people have been here

Report Check-In

We slept here in our 2wd sprinter van. It was just perfect. The view is amazing, water is warm, playa is beautiful. You have to be adventurous to get to the beach, but it worth it. The old houses add to the charm. No cell service at all.

Wow… just wow… so peaceful. Big rig friendly we are 26,000 lb school bus at 38’ long. Perfect for us and you could probably fit a convoy of 20 here but would be spread out along the road. My bus was visible from the road but the road noise was minimal. Just wow. Also check the big building on the right for a hidden surprise for our 420 friends! You’ll have to search! But it’s inside the house.

Report Check-In

*warning potential for high winds*

Entry only from the middle road on Google maps heading directly east to the houses. North road is rugged, narrow, 4x4. South road does not appear to connect to highway. Watch the highway lip it is a little harsh dropping onto the road with a camper.

Beautiful, exposed camping spots with lots of room for multiple parties, though we only saw one other vehicle. Rugged coastline with lots of shells and treasures.

We spent some time cleaning up the abundance of trash along the beach. Even a bag full helps! Abandoned buildings were near, swept clean by previous tenters and perhaps the wind too.

We moved our AWD vehicle and 17ft trailer to the west because the wind was so strong that night. Huge gusts all night Rockijg the trailer. Afraid it would tear the solar panels off the roof. One other vehicle, a van, was there and also turned in the night to face the battering westerly winds.

Hung out in the day it was calm and by noon NE sea winds and white caps had picked up so we headed out.

Beautiful views anyhow!

I thought "ruins of old houses" would be spooky, but it's not- it's a great spot! We parked between the houses and were not visible from the road. Access to swimming via the remains of old steps- the easiest is the remnants of an old boat ramp near the furthest north of the ruins. Great sunrise, lots of birds and fish. Great place for walks. Worth a stop to swim even if you don't stay the night.

Report Check-In

Nice place just in front of the beach, but no access to it. The 300mt to get to the spot dron the main street are quite full of big stones. Good place but very isolated. We only stained one night.

Report Check-In

Nice night. Poached fish had been dropped here. Felt safe.

Report Check-In

Great spot for an overnight. Quiet, great views, and some walks for the pup. Would stay again.

Report Check-In

I loved this spot! I spent a couple days and nights here. You can pull right up to the broken down houses, you can go south to the big house, and you can even take the road north and to the right and find some nice secluded camping as well.

Report Check-In

I was looking for high lands because of the heavy rain. This place is perfect on a cliff above the ocean. Shells to collect on the pebble beach. 2 sets of bones of marine creatures on shore. You can be pretty much hidden if you park between the houses.

Report Check-In

our first wild camping in Mexico. We drove past the last house and parked on a small cliff close to the ocean. Beautiful sunset, nice cold breeze during night but strong smell from decaying fish - luckily the wind was blowing the right direction to take the smell away. It's also great swimming location - steep pebble beach with nice clear, although warm, water

Report Check-In

Oceanfront camping above a gravel beach near some abandoned houses ca 500 m away from Mex 5. Great view to the nearby islands. Quiet, nobody bothered us.
