Description

Here starts the diversion if heading to nord (Popayan). You need to count in at least 1 hour more time to get to Popayan. It is a ripio single line road alternating each day from 7am until 7pm. (1.2.23 nord->south / 2.2.23 south->nord / ...) and it is in good shape (no 4x4 needed).
Weekends could be closed, please inform yourself.
Be aware! at least on the south side, they where weighting the car on the toll station. Max allowed is 3 tons.

Report Check-In

No more big detour, only a small one. See new entry farther north.

Report Check-In

The road is now nearly completely paved again. As a motorbike you don't have to wait at all and can drive past the oncomig traffic no problem

----------18-05-23 ------- GOING NORTH
Free toll here. After 8km starts the "desvio", it is 2km long, in good condition, goes down first and then goes up (steep). There was a lot of trafic. Trucks drove well but cars were advancing other vehicles so it got stucked. Maybe if you go after midnight there will be not many cars!! ON THE WAY UP EACH VEHICLE HAS TO HAVE IT OWN SPACE TO BE ABLE TO GO UP WITHOUT GET STRUMBLED. After those 2km the route continues normal and you have Las Rosas town to stop for a rest.
~

Report Check-In

Passed through here on our way from Pasto to Popayan. You can check the direction that the road is open at invias.gov.co or at the invias #767 twitter page. However, from what we’ve seen and heard, this doesn’t seem to matter much. It seems that they just alternate allowing southbound/northbound traffic through the short detour every 1-2 hours or so. We waited here for 1 & 1/2 hours before they let us through (even though the road was supposed to be open only for northbound traffic, according to their official twitter). The road is in good condition, so overall it was fine, just be prepared to wait.
I would still advise checking the website/twitter because they do close the road every few days for maintenance.

Report Check-In

There is now both way traffic on a single lane, but delays are not that long. New pavement is being built, totaly fine to drive, really nothing special anymore.
Drove it today, 2 vans the same day, 3 hours after each other. No significant delay, both vans waited about 20mins.
