There are two sites on either side of I80. The south side is Towpath the north side is Great Lakes. One has a dedicated RV area that costs $20 a night but if you don't need hookups there are dedicated RV spots for free. Can get full so don't wait too long. Free showers, Burger King is open 24 hours. Fairly quiet too. We stayed here while visiting Cuyahoga National Park. It's just 20 minutes away!
The only cost is the toll road but that is only a couple of bucks. When coming from the north using Edgerton road, you can reach the plaza for free.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Note: the west bound plaza on the north side of the Turnpike (I-80) does not have a dedicated RV area with hook ups and dump station. In a van driving Westbound stay in the car area or you’ll be stuck among the parked trucks. Free showers are available to all in the building.
Report Check-InAs stated in an earlier comment you can reach this place for free by coming from the Edgerton road to the north. There is a little parking space for customers and personnel. It is further from the road and protected by the plaza building, so a little less noise from the highway. The showers are completely free and amazing!
Report Check-InStayed here overnight in the car lot while exploring cuyahoga NP. No one bothered me. Saw several other cars there overnight as well. Service plaza open 24hrs. It is a little bright and there is noise from the oncoming trucks. But otherwise great spot for a night or two.
Report Check-InWe have a van, so were torn about whether to park on the RV side or car side… we decided on the car side. Was quieter than we expected for such a large rest stop. Was a nice place to sleep.
Report Check-InStayed a few nights here while exploring Cuyahoga Valley National Park. I had trouble getting to it at first, my navigation kept taking me to a back entry to the lot. There was parking there, but it’s fenced off so cars can’t get into the plaza from there. I realized that it’s because I have my navigation set to avoid toll roads and I-80 is a toll road. I paid the toll the first night to get in. It was a fairly peaceful night, some of the trucks rolling through were a little loud. The showers and coin laundry are located in the “Trucker Lounge” which anyone can just walk into without issue. There is even a vending machine in the laundry room with detergents, shampoo, and soap if you need them.
I noticed the area my navigation originally tried taking me to had a gate that can be walked through (not big enough for a car) so the second and third nights I stayed I parked over there to avoid the toll. This lot seems to be used by the staff that work in the plaza, but no one said anything about me staying there. This lot is probably not do-able if you’re in anything bigger than a van or small RV though.
Pulled into the car lot and slept for the night. lot was almost empty and there was a lot of road noise. other than that it was a pretty decent place to stop for the night.
