This place is officially closed but you're allowed to camp at the parking lot and make use of toilets and showers. Price is to be discussed with the caretaker (we paid 15,000 RWF for 2 people 1 rooftop tent). Caretaker Sauveur is great young boy who is really willing to make you comfortable. He made us a fire at the traditional fireplace, bought electricity to make sure the shower would be very hot and he made us delicious chapatis (he loves cooking and is actually studying on a cook school). Road is rocky to get here and you cannot go to the National Park headquarters with a shortcut because it is very bad road. You must pass through Kinigi village again. Great Mobile internet with MTN and Airtel.

Great place so well cared for they even drag the DG roads every day. they guy says it takes about 3hrs but makes he says "it makes the place look great"... and it does, restrooms and showers are VERY clean and well kept... (no surprise if they drag the roads every day) super friendly and nice manager makes you feel like old friends right away. but, in the last few years the price went up from $25 for full hook ups to $45 there have been several upgrades to the park WiFi, a 24/7 rec room, a laundry room, & $0 cost for showers... highly recommend this place we spent 1night as we passed through

Lo Manthang has become accessible for motorcycle travellers. You do need a permit to reach it and ride in Upper Mustang.
But if you are coming up this way, the Golden Gate hotel is a great stop. They have decent sized twin rooms, electricity and hot showers. There's a large space out front to park your motorcycle or 4x4 and there's a bike mechanic just next door. The owners (family run) are very friendly and one of them speaks good English. The food is pretty good too!

Mad or Nomad

Very friendly staff. Had a small mechanical issue and receptionist helped to send a mechanic over at the hotel. Garden staff is keen to wash your car.

Local restaurant on the road. They have the typical Iranian food: chicken, lamb, bread, salad... It's ok. You can stop with the car in front. Nice to diner at their "tables" when the hot has dropped. There is a clean toilet.

Ainda é um ótimo lugar para estacionar, mas é importante manter o respeito e ficar discreto. tivemos relatos de que alguns viajantes foram "convidados a se retirar" por estarem ocupando a calçada para confraternizar entre os motorhomes, inclusive a energia que havia no contêiner foi cortada.
ainda é possível usar uma tomada localizada em um poste de luz próximo, que é utilizada por um vendedor de cocada, mas é importante trocar uma ideia com ele.
O local é próximo ao centro turístico, praia das conchas e da coroa.
O único problema é a falta de banheiros.

They wanted 200 M per person per night for camping. We left.

We parked our kar and trailer here for 500birr for 2 nights. Family of 5. Management asked that we change the price to ten dollars per person per night, which they think fair. please talk to them on rates. It is really what you negotiate. We got water for our system, cold beers for 35birr and the owner on day 2 opened a room for us to shower and use western toilet. We will highly recommend this as a place to stay. The Manager also arranged boat trips to monastries and taxi to town at fair rates. Use this place when in Bahir-Dar.

This was a nice and quite spot. There were low branches and puddles on the road leading in. No bathrooms or power. Had good enough Verizon service to watch some YouTube. The spot could only really fit 3 or 4 cars max. There was one other person there camping when I was there as well.

Beautiful spot! Road noise isn’t too bad. I got down alright with my non-4x4 Sprinter. Best to approach from the north so you don’t have to back down the entrance. Lots of room to turn around at the bottom though.

Nice sunny Saturday afternoon spent drinking and eating outside this place. really friendly staff and excellent if
you have a big dog.

place for camping car, wild camping, break

Simple hotel on the side of the road. There was nothing else on Overlander in this area. Friendly, helpful staff. We could place our bikes inside which was locked during the night. Simple room, bit run down, but clean sheets. Squatter toilet, no sink, two buckets of water provided. We paid 15.000 for 1 room. There is a parking lot in the front that could allow space for a landcruiser. Quite a noisy bar up until 10:30pm (Friday), after that it was quiet.

Stayed for one night, no problems! There was other truckers and one RV, but it was overall quiet, even slept in a bit!

Stayed one night. Security was patrolling the lot, but we never got a knock. Parked on the far side of Walmart by the garden center.

Sarchí is Costa Rica's most famous crafts center. The town offers more than 200 stores and small family-operated woodworking factories producing wooden bowls and other tableware, fold-up rocking chairs of wood and leather, and a wide variety of kitschy items. The most popular items on sale are "carretas", elaborately painted oxcarts that traditionally carried coffee from the highlands down to the port on the Pacific coast.

Good hotel. Clean, modern rooms, hot water, excellent water pressure, clean bathrooms, restaurant integrated, wifi available. No a/c, but room had balcony with doors that could be opened. Paid 545 pesos for a single with online reservation, indicate cash price without reservation was 600 pesos (May 2022).

We had a punctured tire. The English speaking mechanic helped us out in no time. Friendly guy, affordable price. Also gave us some hiking tips.

Free hot shower. You need to leave your key while you shower.
Free Dump station as well, but you need to get someone at the gas station to open the water. The dump station is on the car’s side, after you leave the store. Better to park and shower before.

established campsite and a easy drive up on a gravel road with a new parking lot at the top. easily accessible by two-wheel drive vehicle, or sprinter van. amazing sunset facing due west.

Great find! The spot at the end by the water was good, caught some northern pike.

sympatic restaurant with a wonderfull view. open everyday for lunch and friday/sat/Sun for diner. Owner let us stay in his wonderfull garden. best panoramic view!!!
