bananainpyjama_chile | next to the road, a nearly flat field with nice view a little shadow and low traffic. If you just have a tent, you can find a more hidden spot on the right facing the river. there are firepits, it's 99% clean so please Cuida Tu Mundo (CTM). You can access the river NB: we've met the owner, he has a plan to make a camping spot of this place starting in 2023. Didn't say if it will be for free or not,he lets us stay in exchange of making sure the place was left clean and we welp to clean it up as well. Please do the same.

Compa on the road | New location: right next to the lake. It's the new building next to the Casa de la Cultura. They have toilets and cold water showers that you can use when the office is open. And extremely friendly staff. |

@alyvanblake | super quiet and peaceful area. the big grassy spots were nice to camp on and the dogs loved it. they even have a couple of fire rings with wood if you want. we liked the cool temperature at night and even during mid day it was only low 80s. breezy all day and night. it's nice to beat the heat up here. lots of great birds to see! one spot (with the goal posts) had a water spigot to fill your water tank with. |

magicmiles | All true. Free parking for 3 days. You must go in and register. 1st you get a players card that’s free. 2nd you’ll go and register your vehicle. No cost and the staff was extremely helpful. The back parking lot is sloped, however the way, way back lot is not! Lights are in all night, so having blackout screens are very important. I opted to stay for ; days. There are no hookups and you must be fully self contained. Do NOT put out lawn chairs and act like you own the place … carry in and carry out please! Don’t burn this spot for others!!! Verizon 2 bars and sub 3mb up and down. There’s free wifi in the building though. |

Okke Hendriks | We also ended up here after the rafting trip. Large sandy/grassy area. Next to road but hidden. River makes more noise than the road :). Expect rafters later on the day, especially in the high season. |

furthuronthefly | Got here about noon on a Friday and there were only a handful of spots left. We managed to find one that was large enough to accommodate 2 Sprinters and we split the cost. There are about 3 sites here large enough to share 2 vans if needed. $12 a night now, half off with Access Pass. Bathrooms were clean and did not smell. Got very busy by the time we came back from the state park in the evening so get there early on the weekend. Very popular with the OHV crowd. We had no service on tmobile or Verizon even with we boost. |

Dylan | I went here to try wild camp. The owner of the farm came to me and asked not to camp there. They have also had cable theft on their farm and are more cautious of people camping there . They asked to have the spot closed . |

instagram.com/star_troopy | In april it was not possible to reach this place because of the snow. With our 4x4 we could however drive the first 500m along the gravel path, in the tracks of a logging machine. We camped just before the bridge and the logging place with view of the river (see attached pic of the yellow Land Cruiser). It was a good alternative, but please only try this with 4x4 because you can get stuck easily in the snow or lose control. |

expeditionconservation.org | Absolutely great campsite with an awesome view from the big hide to the waterhole! Everything was spotless clean, taken care by Agnes and Elizabeth (who will also light you fires). They also let us camp at the hides’ side, so we had great views all the time. Not so much animals in Hwange at this time of year so by only sitting by the waterhole you may see as much as by driving around. We were here for 2 nights and also saw a new born baby hippo on our second morning. One of the best campsites of Hwange. |

patreon.com | We drove this road in our 2WD Toyota Hiace. But you have to be an experienced driver, like my wife Kareen. Take it slow. Some areas are very narrow so I am not sure if a wide big rig can do it. We did fix the road a few times. It took about 5 hours for the 30 km that was washed out. Beautiful area, we slept half way. Nice birdlife saw, one jackal and llamas. 50km South of Barreal you join the tar road. |

kasbah.ch | Lots of empty space, here. Lots of places sheltered from wind and sights by the high bushes and small trees. Stayed about 1 km before the location indicated here. The access track still shows ruts and puddles from wetter times. Need some ground clearance to navigate around some of the bogs. Loads of birds. |

offtoseethe.world | We preferred this spot over the riverside pull out. Tables, benches, bins and fire pits available. Limited road noise. Trees for wind protection. If you choose your spot well, no trash nor TP. We were the only ones here after 8 PM. |

travelandtravails.com | What a find! We were the only ones here for a night in April. Beautiful campground nestled in huge trees. Snowed 6-inches but we were warm and comfortable in our Sprinter van. On the PCT so most likely busy in the summer with thru-hikers. Picnic tables, fire pits, pit toilets. Flat. Free. No Verizon. Magical. |
