Nice campsites with fire ring, tent pads, and picnic tables under shelter at each site. Potable water available. Very clean pit toilets. Pretty views. $10 per night @ kiosk using debit or credit.

Report Check-In

National Park Service camp spot. Nice spot. Road noise isn’t too bad. Walking distance down to the lake to swim if you want.

Report Check-In

Nice little camp spots..First come first serve...we got here 4pm stayed at site 4...which is fairly level $10 per night $5 per night with access pass...stayed 2 nights road noise didn't bother us...water, trash and vault toilets are available

Report Check-In

Spent two nights in this well maintained campground. First come first serve. Not a quiet location as there is plenty of road noise from trucks on Rt 90, though a little fewer overnight. One nearby "nonrecreational camper" ran his industrial-sized vehicle-mounted generator on and off all night. Excellent cell coverage from nearby towers in Del Rio. Honor system fee payment by credit card or pay.gov a plus. Recreation Area has significantly been cleaned up since our last visit in 2021. No trash whatsoever. NPS seems to be doing a very good job here.

Report Check-In

Beautiful view. Lots of van/small RV spots. Site 14 easily fit our 38ft with toad. Will need to disconnect to turn around or back out. Breezy enough to keep the bugs away.

Report Check-In

Pulled up this afternoon with a few spots still available. Gorgeous lake view and final sunset of 2022. Might try a dip in the lake in the morning. Happy new year all.

Report Check-In

Great view over the reservoir. Certainly busy being next to hwy 90 but now, 9pm, traffic is dwindling. Nice and clean, including bathroom. $10/night. Seniors with a pass get it for $5/night. Mosquitoes were atrocious at sunset. Will stay here again on my way back north. Good verizon service finally. From Marathon to here it was non-existent. 3-bars LTE.

The person that said the beauty of the place outweighs the noise must have been sleeping in an RV with AC! This place is loud!! Very loud with truck noise for the entire night. And it’s way too muggy and hot to sleep with your windows closed. Even in November. Big sites though. Just a shame it’s under a highway. Very clean. One of the worst sleeps I’ve had on my car in a long time. Almost packed up and left at 2am but it finally quieted down some by then. I guess it would be ok for a night if you’re a person that can sleep through highway noise. lol

Report Check-In

Just as described national parks sites with no hook ups, only 10 bucks a night with a pretty good view

Report Check-In

Good spot for the night though it's next to highway so kind of noisy.

fresh water tab and picnic tables.

washrooms do not have flush toilets

Report Check-In

I'm here for 3 days, and paid $10.00 total. So far I have seen a fox, two cats (probably abandoned and feral now, but seem quite happy)..and tons of butterflies. Some people reported that it is noisy from the highway, but the beauty outweighs the traffic noises. I got #5...the furthest site.

Report Check-In

$10 per night, pay at machine (only takes card). Nice views of reservoir from campsites. Significant noise from highway and occasionally the train. Each campsite has tent pad, covered table, bbq, and fire pit. Pit toilet was very clean, did not see showers. No wifi, good coverage with AT&T.

Report Check-In

This is the perfect stop in the middle of the desert.
The desert is beautiful after a rain.
PayStation currently out of commission so we were unable to pay.

Report Check-In

Great place, good water supply, shelter, picnic table each site, excellent overview of what's left of the lake. Can be a little breezy.

Report Check-In

Decent spot for a night. Nice views of the water on one side but you're just facing the highway the other way. Didn't see a discount with a national park pass so it was $10. Paid with credit card at the kiosk.

Report Check-In

Gorgeous! Not a lot of sites, only 14, but all have a canopy over picnic tables, water spigots, with a fire pit, and grill. The machine to pay only accepts credit cards, no cash. First come, first serve. Views of water and high bridges, hikes along the water and views. I love it! Launch your kayak or SUP. Many places to camp around Amistad Reservoir, see the map. Also, a great day use area. Rangers drive through occasionally. $10 a night, $5 with a senior pass. See, being 60 yo has its benefits!

Report Check-In

Great stop! stayed one night. It's quiet and an even better view if you can get a stop by the water.

Report Check-In

Great spot for a night right off the highway, there is a bit of noise, but not to bad. Toilets and water, views of the reservoir.

Report Check-In

As described we paid $5 for the three day senior pass. The machine uses credit cards. Delightful though not very level spot with some traffic noise compensated for by superb views.

Report Check-In

Snagged beautiful site NPS7 at Governor's Landing for $5 (Senior Pass). First come, first serve. Campground only half occupied here in mid April, midweek. Potable water pretty much at every site. Boat ramp with walking access to water, a.k.a. the "beach." Adjacent to US90. Not quiet. Covered picnic table, open firepit, and tent platform at each site. Great views across the reservoir.

Report Check-In

ditto on descriptions. most sites can only accommodate 25 to 30 ft long rigs nice tent pads that are paved or gravel. sites are semi level in very nicely maintained camp host is on the property.

Report Check-In

Description is accurate, stayed here 2 nights. Only half full in February. Amazing views! Some highway noise, nbd. BBQ pits and covered picnic table.

Report Check-In

Nice semi level lots. Great view. Nothing I can say that everyone else hasn’t already! $10 or $5 with federal access pass!

Report Check-In

Fantastic for a quick overnight or two..great views, but a lot of road noise. Up to $10 now/$5 with your interagency pass..still has water and put toilets were fine, but dump station was capped off

Report Check-In

Nice campground, noise from highway and railroad. Nobody has collected the money for a long time, we couldn’t put our envelope in because it was so full. So we had free camping.

Nice, good for small to mid size trailer. $10 / night. Put toilet clean. Water spigots are shared. Next to 90 highway Amistad Bridge, with highway noise.

Nice spot off the hwy, easy access to water for an excellent Kayak and SUP, spent 2 nights, running water and really dirty privies. Trains and big rigs at night but not bad, would do it again!
