Stayed here NYE. Aside from some fireworks and cars driving by really quiet overnight. As others have said feels like a safe spot close to downtown

Very quiet street running down to the beach, side of a hotel on one side rear of houses on the other. Don’t park right at the bottom as that’s where everyone turns around.

Indeed we have to park near the donation bins as WalMart cannot authorize sleeping in their parking lot as it's not their property. Very quiet nite, one tractor trailor was there also.

Was here for maybe an hour before the hotel manager plus 2 police officers knocked on my van door and woke me up at 11p. The police officer threatened me with physical force then afterwards turned on his camera for my reaction without any context of his threat. Don’t stay here unless you want to be threatened physically and with jail time by a fat cop who claims to feel threatened by girls who are 5’0” that they woke up and literally flexed on. Not okay

clean and well-maintained rest area. Security attendant confirmed that overnight is okay. Normal highway noise and trucks but this is a safe place for the night.

A great RV park in a town where there is unfortunately not much going on. So good for a night to break up the trip to and from La Paz. Nice pool and hot shower. A bit expensive for Mexico ($500 per night) but worth it. About 10 sites that will fit any sized rig. Full bars ATT.

Rooms, camping and big rigs.
Lovely modern rooms in old Spanish style, hot water showers, shared kitchen - breakfast included with room. We paid €28 for double room.
Walking distance from ancient site but a bit out of town so own transport needed but lovely views.
Highly recommended

Winter RV parking is lot 4. Stayed here 3 nights around the holidays and will definitely return. There is a designated shoulder on the west side of the lot for all trailer/camper/school bus/car camping. They seem to want everyone there for ploughing purposes. We found available garbage but no other lot amenities. Nights are quiet but mornings are loud with avalanche bombs and snow removal crews. We weren’t asked to leave but an employee did ask to see our ski passes; maybe this place is best for ski bums, but a solid option if that’s you.

Nice & peaceful place to sleep for the night. Pulled in around 11:30pm, and there was only 1 other vehicle in the overnight parking lot.

Quiet, dark, and plowed in winter. Nice quick access off the highway with no issue despite the snow.

El lugar tiene fogones y un gran estacionamiento, pero es unicamente para pasar el dia. No podes quedarte porque durante la noche pasa la policia y te mandan multa con foto.

Very friendly. We are on bicycles and they let us stay camping behind the lodge. Shady place under trees. Can use shower and toilet of one of the rooms. Could also use the pool. 150 pp.

Stopped for lunch after our drive south from Lone Pine. It was windy, cold, and cloudy. We did not explore the area, but plan to return during a long weekend.

This is the nicest campground on the lake. Good restaurant, nice owners, hot showers and WiFi near the reception. Lots of fun stuff to do here. Easy walk to the Guatemalan village just across the border (no passports needed). Omar at the reception can arrange a “tuki tuki” moto taxi to the Cinco Lago trailhead. On the way back we found a tuki tuki at the main mirador near Lago Agua Tinto to return to the campsite. It’s a great hike!

wonderfully quiet campsites. I stopped at the first one but walked down to check out the others. They're all 3 nice and big and flat and there's a flat gravel parking lot at trail head #1. On the board the rules also say that you can stay in one campsite for 30 days then have to move at least 1 mile away for at least 14 days. you can stay a total of 90 days in the forest, moving every 30 days. Lots of huge trees and the road up to campsite #1 albeit rough in spots, I was able to make it in my minivan. Just go slow. It's boondocking/ dispersed camping so no amenities.
