This is the first of 3 campsites on Turner Creek Rd in the Ouachita National Forest. This is public land, so it's free to stay for 30 days, in one site. I camped here in my Ford Transit conversion van and had no problems getting to the site. The site is a off of a gravel road and has a small man-made fire ring. I have Verizon and had great cell service. During my four-day stay I only saw one car go down the road.

wonderfully quiet campsites. I stopped at the first one but walked down to check out the others. They're all 3 nice and big and flat and there's a flat gravel parking lot at trail head #1. On the board the rules also say that you can stay in one campsite for 30 days then have to move at least 1 mile away for at least 14 days. you can stay a total of 90 days in the forest, moving every 30 days. Lots of huge trees and the road up to campsite #1 albeit rough in spots, I was able to make it in my minivan. Just go slow. It's boondocking/ dispersed camping so no amenities.
Report Check-InGreat remote site.
No road noise.
I do not recommend for low clearance vehicles. Full 5G service with T-mobile.
Somewhat shaded sites.
Could probably pull a 20' rig around in the site we're in but not much bigger.
A bit buggy with deer flies.
Completely empty on a Wednesday at 3-4pm.
Very quiet and remote. Will definitely be back.
Report Check-InA great place off the beaten path. We enjoyed the quiet. It was raining and mud was never a problem. Woke up the sound of Red headed woodpeckers and enjoyed our coffee.
Report Check-InSmooth gravel road, pretty big gravel horseshoe pullout. Arrived on a beautiful spring day on a Sat. @ 5pm. A few trucks drove by but no issues. Sire was not near a creek. Basic boondocking in the NF.
3-4 bars of Verizon.
Peace and quiet except 4 the coyotes in the distance. flat ground and fire pit, also at some point someone hung a clothes line. perfect getaway. got up here in my Ford econoline probably cant fit anything bigger. Cars up and down the road all morning 4 hunting. toilet is a few feet back in the woods if you're brave enough.
