200ppn with no electricity and wifi is very expensive. Beach is washed up with dried seaweed. Shower and tap water is salty. Haphazard parking lots.

Still an amazing place ! You'll find everything that you need to rest here. The owner is super nice and super helpful. The place is really close to the center and really calm. We stopped there with our bicycles and we could store them in the dinning area.

Slept here 3 Nights , No issues very quiet other vans here as well , Right by the Dairy Queen and NOAA Building.

Great spot but be aware that there are some very hidden muddy spots. Best is to drive straight to the river and then on the grass to the left. I thought I could take a shirt cut and got stuck for at least an hour......

Was just before sunset, 3 cars passed by and didn't even stop when I was signaling and honking.

So that's a great confirmation that it's private and nobody bothers you :)

It's open. no signs of any closure. good cell signal and very close to town. maybe too close. lots of ATV trails but I only hear one on this Saturday at noon.

Nice site. Not far from main road but 4WD needed due to sand. Large open area with lots of space for camping. Surprisingly quiet and few campers on New Years Eve. Busy during the day but quiet at night. A bit too much trash scattered around the sand in this area.

Someone from the village called the police. Police said it is too dangerous, our security is their highest priority and we should park next to the police station a few kilometres away. After discussing for a very long time we had enough and drove back 4 hours to Islamabad in the dark. It unfortunately is not possible to explore Pakistan on your own without arguing with police every day. Even at the toll booth before Murree police didn't want us to drive on this mountain road, because it is too dangerous (for us, but not Pakistani tourists), because it is only a two lane road and not with four lanes where it is safer...
Just leave Pakistan and go to India as soon as possible!

We stayed at Niega with 2 other overlander families. Camp was amazing, between the river and the sea (big waves!).
Locals came by, as usual in Africa, some of them being quite insistant / drunk. However no one bothered us in evenings / nights during our stay (4 days).

Marie France is the person you want to connect with (she’s amazing, living very close to the place where you can camp).

You need to check in with the village chief when you arrive (we didn’t, and got quite into an argument with him). We gave him a bottle of liquor and 5000cfa to cool down the discussion.

We relaxed two nights here before entering Tarangire and enjoyed extensive bird watching right from the shady camping spot. Basic facilities, friendly caretaker. Bushbabies and tiny owls around at night. Elephants and zebras might rattle the bushes while you sleep. Price negotiable.

Spot with a scenic view over Monaco. Spent New Years Eve here and at 00:30 were the only ones left here. This path leads to a cemetary and is very quiet. There are some ruins at the side of the path, where one car fits perfectly.

Super campsite, well maintained, very big, clean bathrooms, hot showers in specific times-morning+evening. Nice spots, some close to the lake. BBQ, electricity,.water, table on spot. Price 11000CLP/ppn in Dec 2022.

We went there for New Years Eve and messaged them before in WhatsApp (number on their website). They charged us 20$ for two people and although we thought that is too steep we stayed. Cold shower, clean bathroom and good wifi, friendly people. Right in front of the surf wave.

Definitely one of the more developed Forest Service campgrounds I've stayed in, and the cost reflects that. Decent bathhouse, nice sites. Stayed on New Years Eve and got the last spot when we showed up around 9pm.

Seems like a pretty well-known/discovered place since there were travellers from all over the country staying here. Since it's first-come you probably shouldn't rely on finding a spot here if you're rolling in late during a busy season.

Some noise from the nearby highway but not terrible.

very nice campground and it was free! right next to a beautiful river, a very peaceful campsite.

Took about 6 miles of dirt road to get to the place and with the snow it was not too hard to get to. Very secluded would 100% recommend.

Bom restaurante, 25,90 a Marmitex. Razoável banheiro. Banho 5,00. Atende bem os viajantes.

Hermoso lugar, baños con duchas de aguas caliente, abundante agua. muy limpios. Tiene arboleda, piletas y balneario al río. Excelente lugar para pasar la noche o quedarse unos días, muy tranquilo y limpio, servicio muy ameno. Por 5 personas más el batan nos costó por noche $660. Muy barato! Excelente lugar para visitar. 👍

Cooled drinking water next to the road and mosque. Inside the mosque more taps with water (but that is not drinking water).

Super clean bathroom. Hot shower for free. Some plugs outside the building to charge your things. Still a place to be ;)

Now 3200 pesos/kg. We had nice, clean clothing and towels with same day service. But for a moderate sized bag it cost well over $30! Laundry prices in Chile, ouch!

Ace Hardware & Lumber - propane fill-up or exchange. As of 12/31/22 it’s $3.99/gallon

Wanted to check in here, but hotel was closed that day. So we stayed on the small parking lot just outside the gate which was ok for a night.

this is a high spot that can our long bed pickup with small trailer, even after a full day of rain.

Nice quiet campsite Argentinian style. Only some places for bigger rigs available , but we fitted, so no complaints. Super friendly personel. Shower not very hot, but there we’re a lot of people showering at same time so maybe it’s better when you’re alone in the showers.

Very nice place. Our plan was to stay one night in Placencia and because this place we stayed 3 night “lol”.
Is like a small resort, with beach front, swimming pool, water, bathroom, restaurant, bike and kaiak rental for free.
We paid usd 20,00 per night (2 adults+ 2 kids).
The food here is gorgeous but pricey.

We spent the new years dinner in this place and was really cool. Fireworks, live music, etc… memorable

nice camp ground next to a beaver pond,as of now Dec 31 2022 there aren't much options for camping as everything further up canyon had been destroyed this spring.there is this camp ground, and two established sites but nothing past that.

Nice staffed rest area. Dog park available.cute souvenirs.
