Expansive, yes. Worth it? Definitely yes for me even if I hate tour. In may, I recommend going around 14hr for the canyon to be in better light. I did the combinado with both canyons; the 2nd one is not a must , but nice.

Very nice campsite, just outside the park.
Behind the railway line, just outside Kennedy Gate, opposite Hide Camp inside the park.
35 USD for up to 4 people.
Hot bucket shower, flush toilet, both open to the stars, brai area, fire wood included!
No electricity, but an absolutely brilliant night sky!
Lenmo, the very friendly caretaker, keeps the site and your private ablutions speckless clean.
He will prepare hot water, and start your fire.
He will also help you setting up your tent, and washing your dishes, so basically, he will be your personal butler!
I don't think the last two items are included in his job description, so I think it's appropriate to give him a tip at the end!
There is a waterhole near the campsite, and there were plenty of animal tracks and elephant dung on the campsite, but we didn't see any animals around when we were there.
You need to enter the park at Main Camp in order to pay the park entrance fees, and leave through Kennedy Gate. No payments at Kennedy Gate!
Latest entry through Main Gate at 16:00, you need to leave through Kennedy at 18:00!
You need to pay park fees for the first and last day (and of course for the days in between), no free transit!

Not accessible due to snow on shoulder. Runoff goes down dirt road so it was a bit rough going in my 2WD van

A huge store with some parts like grease, oils, and other professional parts. connections for hoses and other stuffs. like the vendor said; "here is like a canadian tire, but we walk for you and try to find what you really need".

Did not spend the night but it looks like a van did. I used the outdoor facilities. Accessible, clean flush toilets. Looks like there are outdoor showers but they are right next to a playground so be courteous.

Many different and secluded sites and pull-offs along the road to use. Some require 4WD, most don’t, but I wouldn’t recommend this spot for large rigs or long trailers. Incredibly scenic with river access at several points.

Beautiful spot in amongst the Pine trees. Plenty of space to set up as you drive through the dirt path. This will be our 2nd night. Can’t hear any road traffic. Once it gets dark, the stars are amazing!

15 mins to Bryce Visitor Center. 3 bars for Sprint.

Schöner BC Parks Campingplatz. Teilweise mit direktem Zugang zum Lake Revelstoke. Sehr saubere Pit Toilets. Großes Waschhaus in der Mitte des Platzes. Sani-Station vorhanden (Dumping 5 CND). Self-Registration oder Bezahlung beim Park Operator (kommt ab späten Nachmittag regelmäßig vorbei).

Lots of spots available in the area, some harder to get to than others. We drove to the last spot listed on iOverlander but had barely any Verizon reception so we turned around in search of reception but the best we could find was still not good enough for work (even with a booster). Stayed one night and left in the morning. Plenty of space to get some distance from neighbors!

De frente pra praia, amplo estacionamento de uma barraca/quiosque desativado. Bom sinal de internet vivo e claro. Sem nenhuma estrutura de água e energia. Mas tranquilo pra passar noite.

Good site at a trailhead with a couple of level spots. Google Fi gave me 45.9mbps download and 2.43mbps upload speeds on 5G. The road in was pretty good in an SUV late May.

single rooms from 13 000, double for 20 000. All the cheap rooms were taken, when we arrived.

They had a problem with the fact that two guys want to share one room. No Wifi atm. No dogs allowed. Hot and running water. Staff was ok.

Nice spot but the directions on Google Maps had us heading in the wrong direction with signs that read private property/no camping. We drove a bit further down the road and saw ‘the gate’. Very quiet and peaceful. Road is not in terrible condition. Doubt you need 4x4 today.

I got here around 10pm. I noticed a stench that I think is coming from the portapotties near the restrooms. Not sure what’s goin on w that. I was parked on the opposite side of parking lot from restrooms and I could still smell this stench. This area is patrolled by security which is nice. This rest stop is next to the high way of course so keep in mind you’ll hear the usual traffic noises. Other than having to deal w the stench I had a pleasant time sleeping overnight here.

Sunset Campground in Grant Grove Village area, Kings Canyon National Park. It is reservation only. Very close to Grant Grove Village which has a general store, gift shop, restaurant and visitor center. Water spickets at various spots along with flush toilets. Each side has a firebox, bear box and picnic table. Most sites while paved and very short and extremely unlevel, use caution while choosing. Also many sites that say tent only are shared parking so not good if in a van or small RV. I'm adding this spot as it has great Verizon 5G although the data speeds are a bit slow. Cell signal is limited in the Park. $22 night, no electric and many sites are heavy shade. Yours to enjoy, protect and keep clean.

We found this camp spot on Maps.me
It is a lovely spot ready for picnic and barbecue.
Someone was so kind to leave some wood and branches ready for a bonfire.

It is very near to the road, but with the sound of the river we barely heard the rare trucks passing by at night.

Unfortunately there is some trash.

We stayed one night without any problem, no one came around.

Easy access from the road for a 4x4.

Perfect wild camp spot by river (with crocs and hippos !! - no swimming ) lots of birdlife !!
Locals pass by and all very excited we were staying there

An electric fence has been set up with sheep on the inside. Almost no place to camp on the outside of the fence..
If wet the road down gets very slippery and you might have problem getting back up.

Very nice place to stay that’s quiet and feels safe. We stayed at the large gravel lot behind the baseball field overlooking the beach. Some locals came to play on the rocks and have fires on the beach and left at sunset. There’s another lot near the whale tail sculpture which appears more scenic but we noticed the fishermen park their trucks there in the morning so you’d probably hear them coming in at 3-4am. Just be aware of that and leave them room. There was essentially no cell service even when using our cell booster. We got a sporadic minute or two by chance.
